Reviews of local pros in Waldwick, New Jersey

We have worked with Chris James Landscaping several times and have been completely satisfied with their work. We recently had some landscaped lighting and design work completed in an area around our pool. Bistro lighting was installed in an ingenious way using posts placed in half barrels to anchor the strings of lights. The barrels were designed so that seasonal plantings can be added at the base of the lighting posts. A great addition to our backyard space! Josh A. designed the installation and supervised the work. The planning process was excellent and there was a good exchange of ideas to reach the final design. The on-site crew was professional and left the space neat and clean at the end of the day. Lighting technician Luis made made it all work. It has transformed out backyard!

Our landscaper retired, and we were referred to Chris James Landscaping. We are so happy to work with them! We signed up for their service to have our lawn mowed, spring clean up, and pesticide treatment. They did an amazing job with the clean up, and have been doing a wonderful job with everything else. They are always friendly, and professional. Their services are exceptional!

We were glad to begin a landscaping program with Chris James Landscaping including lawn maintenance, fertilization, shrub trimming and all around grounds upkeep. Our lawn has never looked better.

Additionally worked with Josh Abramson at Chris James Landscaping to rework most all the areas of my property - a major job that had not been done in 30 years. Josh drew up a plan, suggesting beautiful flowering shrubs, making creative solutions to enable us to keep those few elements that were healthy or we were fond of, and kept within a budget that made the project possible. He laid out a timeline based on our schedule, brought in a terrific crew who were knowledgeable, respectful, energetic, neat and responsive. Josh was with us all the way, keeping tabs on our watering new shrubs, identifying areas for attention and making suggestions for the best results. We could not have been happier. It was a big job -- getting the grass up to snuff, re-landscaping most of the property to make our home look its best.

We have known Chris James for decades and he has always been able to help us with many projects over the years. His work speaks for itself, his team has a great customer focus and works to achieve client satisfaction in all areas. We can't say enough about the quality of the work at the right price with the best company.

We had some landscaping work done by Josh and his crew. They were helpful and very nice! They did a great job and we now have plenty of privacy with great flowerbeds and trees!
They even gave me instructions on how to maintain everything. A very efficient and easy process for us. We are very glad we decided to work with them and will be using them again in the fall for some more work. Josh Abramson was very professional, helpful and kind!

Chris James Landscaping has been servicing our property for 13 years. They are professional and do an excellent job not just with the routine service, but also with special design projects. For example, the team hand trimmed our evergreens and shrubs with such attention to detail. They really came out spectacular. The design and plantings they customized to our property really enhance our yard. Great team and company, highly recommended!

We are so happy that we chose Chris James Landscaping to handle the full design and installation of our landscaping in our new home.
Their team designed and created a totally fresh and inviting look for the front of our new home, as well as the perfect backyard play space for our kids to enjoy. They also handled our new fence which finishes the look of everything perfectly.
They have an excellent eye and are an absolute pleasure to work with. We highly recommend Chris Daveniero and the CJL team!

We bought a house a few months ago that needed a spring & fresh clean up. Everyone at CJL is so friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They did an AMAZING job! They scheduled us quickly, were extremely efficient, & the yard looks beautiful. We are so happy & will continue to use them! 10/10 recommend!!!! Also, so kind to our 2.5 year old son who loves watching the trucks drive by. Everyone waves to him & always greets him with a smile. So much gratitude & appreciation for CJL on many levels!

We used Chris James Landscaping this summer to do a considerable job on our property. They replaced a walkway, installed lighting, and redesigned the flower beds. I worked closely with Josh who is a dream to work with. We went to the nursery together to pick out the exact plants that I like and everything came together beautifully. My neighbors all comment on how lovely it looks now. I am so happy I chose Chris James to do this work. They have an excellent eye for design and are a pleasure to work with.

I have been meaning to write this review for over a year but our appreciation for Chris James Landscaping has just grown during that time.  We are Premium Care customers and have been impressed every time Chris James provides services.  The crew are meticulous, professional, efficient and friendly.  When we have questions, crew members are knowledgeable and accommodating. It is very easy to coordinate seasonal plantings, landscape projects, leaf clean ups, sprinkler maintenance and lawn care services.  Online and automatic payments are hassle free. Our account manager Josh A is helpful with ideas and does not hesitate to stop by our property and speak with us in person. The level of care Chris James provides exceeds any of our previous experiences with landscaping companies - and our property, especially our lawn, looks the fullest and healthiest it has ever looked. Highly recommend.

We reached out to Chris James landscaping back in April of 2024. We had just moved into our new home and were assigned their project manager, Josh. From the beginning he was so wonderful to work with. He was available to discuss and help in anyway he could. He listened to all that we wanted and gave his honest opinion. That summer he redid our backyard. Brian and his team came in and removed many old bushes, shrubs and plantings and placed sod. They worked hard in the heat of the summer and met any requests we had! We couldn’t be happier with how open and clean our backyard looks now!

Fast forward to this year, we reached out to Josh again and he put together a plan to redo our front yard as it also had many overgrown plantings/shrubs. Josh took his time to plan out what he thought would work best with our space. Brian’s team worked on the front again and they were wonderful. Our front yard has completely transformed our house. We’ve had neighbors stop to tell us how great it looks and compliment the work they’ve done and the selections Josh made!

They also installed pavers that lead from our backyard to the driveway as we had our driveway redone too. Josh was very involved and would show up daily to ensure that everything was going as planned when coordinating with the company who redid our driveway.

Overall, we are truly so happy to have met Josh and work with him. He was professional, friendly, knowledgable and truly cared about us being happy with the end results! We look forward to working with him again!

I highly recommend Chris James Landscaping, they were prompt and did a great job. Josh listened to what we wanted, addressed our concerns and came back shortly with a viable option. His crew Giovanni & German were the best; they were professional, executed the work on a timely basis and left the place spotless before departure. We will definitely use them again.

We've been using Chris James Landscaping for regular lawn maintenance, including mowing, seeding, and seasonal clean-ups, and we've always been happy with their service. Great Work!

Honorable company

Honest, local firm. Highly recommend

Great service, professional, courteous & flexible. Highly recommend!

I must have contacted 3-4 other companies in the area and this was the only company that showed up. They new exactly what was wrong and was fixed in no time. I taped the business card on the furnace so I don’t lose it and know who to call.

Have been using Generation 3 for 2 years now and they always do great work on both heating and AC.
