If you need trees removed or trimmed, or both, I would encourage that you contact Rich at North Jersey Tree Specialist. A colleague of mine referred me to them and I was very happy that he did. Rich was very knowledgeable during our walkthrough of my property and was honest about what work should or shouldn’t be done, based on what I needed. As an example, there is a tree on my property that is dying and I told Rich I wanted to remove it but he mentioned I wouldn’t have to do so for a couple of years based on its condition, but it was ultimately up to me if I wanted to do so. Nowadays, many contractors will take advantage of those who aren’t subject matter experts to make a quick buck. Again, give Rich a call. You’ll be glad you did.

Hire at your own risk.

They ruined our slate sidewalk by driving their crane truck over it without proper protection. They took full responsibility and promised to replace the broken sidewalk, but instead, they stopped responding to my calls and emails and it has become clear that they lied.

While they did a decent job on the tree, they were rushed to get to their next job and tried to leave after 30 minutes when the job was not even close to being done. I pointed out all the remaining deadwood that needed to be cut and they did complete it to my satisfaction.

5/12/22 - Edited to add: After they stopped responding, I had to contact their insurance company on my own and was able to get the insurance company to pay for the damages, but not after spending time, energy and effort.

Awesome work! Crew of 6 took down a dead tree in the front yard using a crane. Had to avoid wires all around. Amazing to watch such a professional job. Everything went perfectly and clean up was outstanding. Certainly would recommend this company.

Awesome Tree Company!! This is the second time I’ve used North Jersey Tree Specialists. The owner and staff are honest and professional. The crew arrived on time, they were friendly, worked fast and cleaned my entire property before leaving. I will definitely be using them again!!

They are extremely professional explained everything and their timing was perfect I needed them to be there after hours they came within 10 minutes and took care of everything even much better than I anticipated I recommend them very highly

My experience was positive from the time I reached out for an estimate till the time the work was completed. Rich was great and so helpful and the guys were friendly and worked hard. Even having to put up with millions of spotted lantern flies!!! The office ladies were also a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend the company

I wish I could write an amazing review, because the process of getting an estimate through to the work itself was fantastic. But everything fell apart the day I got threatening voicemails and text messages about payment.

Upon originally paying via a credit card -- over the phone and as soon as the work was complete -- the person we spoke with apparently mistyped the credit card number. The charge was never processed. They called us back, we called them back, and they never returned our call.

Fast forward a couple of weeks -- the owner leaves us a nasty voicemail and threatening text message. "I'm going to show up at your house to get my money." Really, sir? Perhaps you should call your office and tell them to do their jobs. Which apparently he eventually did, because they finally returned our call, and correctly processed the invoice.

All it would have taken was for the office to call us back, and we would have used this company for future tree maintenance. But no -- not only will we never hire them again, we may file a complaint with the BBB.

Tip: don't threaten your customers, and especially not when the mistake is on your end.

Buyer beware.

NJerseyTreeSpecialists were really professional, on schedule and worked quickly to remove 2 large dead trees on our property. They charged us exactly what the estimate was - even gave us a deal on some extra work that needed to be done. The office staff were really helpful and patient as well. I highly recommend their services.

I just recently had 6 trees cut down to the stump, Richie and his team arrived on time and ready to work. The team cut all the trees quickly while managing to keep my yard looking clean. I would recommend them to anyone looking to have clean, professional service.

Great company to work with. They arrived on time and made sure I was satisfied with the work before leaving. I contracted them a second time to do work for me this weekend and again I am pleased with their services and price. They also don't try to rip you off by claiming the need for additional equipment like a crane when there really isn't a need for one. (Most tree companies in the area just bring it in to jack the price up)

I highly recommend their services. They had the best prices by far, and I quoted multiple companies, none of which came close. That being said, the workers are as professional as they come. I was extremely impressed at the efficiency and speed they completed the job. They went out of their way to make sure that we were satisfied with the job and clean-up. I have already recommended them to family members looking to have tree trimming services. They did their job and did it well.

I had a difficult job done last week where a crane was used to get to this tree behind my garage. I called North Jersey Tree because I knew they would be the best people to do the job. I had the opportunity to see them do a job at one of my daughters neighbors. I was so impressed with their work and crew people that I requested to have the same people to do my job. they,re really skilled and very fast the crane operator, Ruben, & his brother, the other boy handling the branches excellent, excellent job all around. The price Rich gave me was very reasonable and they came very fast after I called them. Thanks to Jessica who was very instrumental in coordinating this job. I am very happy and satisfied with these people and I highly recommend them to family and friends or anyone who might need a fast and job well done.

From the second I spoke to John, my experience was top notch! John assessed the job I wanted done, gave me a very fair price took care of the permits and his team of workers were there to get the job completed. Three HUGE oaks completely gone, stumps grinded, poured topsoil and seeded. One full day of work and it's like they were never there! NO damage to my property at all! Highly recommend them! A+++

Very easy to deal with from getting an estimate to cleaning up afterwards. They were all attentive, professional, and, although tree removal is never cheap, affordable. They even suggested that we don’t take down a tree that we were ready to pay for! I highly recommend this trustworthy company!!

Great service, I called and we set up an appointment for Richard to come over and give an estimate. He showed up right on time and explained everything that they would do and the price was much less then other estimates. He also gave me his insurance information, and work license. We set up a date and crew showed up and was very professional and fast. When crew was done they cleaned up everything. I would definitely use them again in the future.

I’ve used North Jersey Tree Specialist a few times in my property to remove and trim trees. They have always been very good to me. The customer service they provide is excellent and they’re prices are even better. There was one time where they weren’t responding to my emails or returning my phones calls. However the owner of the company was nice enough to eventually call me back and explain why they weren’t being responsive. Turns out that they had to temporarily close down the office due to COVID which is totally understandable. The fact that the owner of the company called me back to explain all of this speaks volumes. It shows how much they care about customer service. I highly recommend North Jersey Tree Specialist to anyone looking for a responsible, good value and customer service focused tree cutting company.

New Jersey Tree Specialists is a high quality company with a terrific staff.
I originally planned to get two estimates to remove a large old tree. But, as I listened to Rich from my first appointment present all the things he plans for to make sure the process will be carefully executed to assure the existing property and home are fully protected, I signed right up. And I was not disappointed!
It's a family business. Rich's wife, Tara, took control and planned ahead to schedule the 'dry' weather day I requested.
The foreman of the crew, Rod is a true professional. He walked me through the process and I was both shocked and pleased to see the entire project only too about three hours. And that included a very neat clean up.
Finally, kudos for the total grinding of the stump by Eric- great job. I had to call Tara after my landscaper felt additional roots needed to be cleared for proper water flow. Both Rich and Tara quickly scheduled a follow up appointment.

Rich and his crew are excellent! Rich explained everything when he visited my property on a Tuesday and removed 2 trees, 1 was damaged on a Thursday. He understood the urgency and delivered an outstanding service. The crew was prompt and on time and everything was explained in detail to me. We contacted a few tree companies for estimates and this was the best one! The guys arrived early in the morning and explained what exactly they were going to be doing. The crew was very easy to talk to/deal with. They left with my backyard totally cleaned up as it was before they came when the job was completed! Very impressed and my neighbors were too. Highly recommend and would use them again!
