Appliance Repair reviews in West Caldwell, New Jersey

I was really apprehensive about using this service given the many negative reviews on Google and Yelp. I bought a whirlpool service extension and this vendor was the only choice available on my area to use that coverage. The representative arrived on time and identified the problem (bad drain pump) quickly, had the replacement part in hand and replaced it quickly and professionally. It was a great experience.

It took a long time to obtain the part and would not set an appointment until they had the part. Then snowstorms postponed further, not their fault, but the whole replacement process too too long. I was without a washing machine for way too long

They are terrific! We've had issues with our new washer and dryer and company had to make and authorize service. Dan Marc tech was always within time frame, called on his way and completed the service in a timely/quick way. Elmer here yesterday and the first thing he did was cover his shoes before coming in. Talked to Dean in the office a few times too and he was always respectful and understanding and I appreciate that very much. Being seniors, we felt that although the couple of the repairs were simple to them, we couldn't do them ourselves and they never made us feel stupid! 😁 Thank you so much! 👏👏

I was annoyed that when I called in the request for the repair and specifically stated the issue was a control board based on what I saw. The repair man showed up for the initial visit without the part. It would have been much more efficient if he had secured the part first. This caused me to reschedule plans to be available. Repair was covered under warranty by Whirlpool.

Darren the service technician paid great attention to detail, was very knowledgeable & understood what my services needs were with regards to my refrigerator & also had the issue resolved accurately "in a timely fashion".
Thank you Dan Marc appliance for such amazing work ethics. -
We were so pleased with our experience with Dan Marc. The appointment was easy to make but the technician really made all the difference! He was not only knowledgable, he was so kind and courteous. Really appreciate the support. Thank you!

The ice maker stopped working in our Whirlpool refrigerator 3 weeks after the refrigerator was received. The Dan Marc service rep arrived one day after our call and diagnosed the problem. He ordered the part and was back in 3 days to install. He was polite, arrived in the agreed time slot and did the work neatly. Dan Marc's phone system announced that he would be here within 30 minutes. Total time in the house was easily under 1 hour.

My refrigerator is under warranty so no price was paid for the visit or the part which we received. The Dan Marc technician, Bill was so pleasant and informative and very carefully took the old part out and replaced it with the new one. We are not having any issues with the appliance now and all is well, thanks to Bill and to Dan Marc Appliance.

This company is horrible!! They don’t call you regarding your appt. The day of the appt, No call/No show! I call and they say they rescheduled my emergency repair appointment for another 4 days out because they couldn’t come on the day of appt. Mind you the only reason why I paid and booked this appt was because they made the appt to come out right away. What happened to decent customer service??
Wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone!!! -
Appointments could be arranged very promptly for a particular day which was narrowed to a four-hour time period the day before the service visit by telephone. This was very convenient because I didn't have to wait at home all day to have my washing machine repaired. The Dan Mark appliance technician was extremely nice and quickly determined that a part needed to be ordered to repair my washing machine. The part was obtained very quickly and my washing machine was repaired a few days later. My experience with Dan Marc Applicance was excellent.

Jose was knowledgeable and friendly. He saw right away that the part was available from a supplier and I assumed he would have been able to receive the part within 5 days. The repair was done on Dec 9th. I thought the repair should have been done in the week of December 1st. But the important thing is that it was done and seemingly done correctly. So glad that it is now fixed and working well.

Technician was pleasant and friendly. He stated that he could not repair the machine because of its age, i.e., that required parts were no longer being made. He suggested a new machine and put us in touch with someone who could make suggestions on alternative dishwashers.

On November 1st, I reached out to Domestic & General for my warrantied Whirlpool dryer to be serviced. They put me in contact with Dan Marc appliances and we scheduled for November 14th. It is now November 10th and I was just contacted regarding the fact that, as Alex puts it "The technicians don't service on base because it takes too long" but they do service the off base housing. This would have been great information to know upon initial scheduling. Alex had divulged to me there is no explicit information to General or in any of their marketing stating that they do not service on base. When asked why, he was unable to give me a real reason other than they think it takes too long. I've been in the military for a long time, and the only issues I've ever seen with people getting on post where it takes too long is if there are legal issues involved. This seems like a very sketchy company and I would not recommend using them for the future.
Udpate: That's okay, I was able to find several companies willing to take the 10-15 extra minutes to meet me at the visitor center for a pass.
FYI- When I called Domestic and General back to reschedule with them for a new tech, they notice there was already a part ordered toward my 'dryer work order'. How does one order parts for a dryer they haven't seen?
Dave- please update your marketing. Waiting 10 days later to find out your technician doesn't go on base because "it takes too long" is a massive insult. Especially trying to find a technician to schedule before the holidays. -
The repair process was accomplished quickly and efficiently. Craig, the technician, made the repair and spoke very highly of the Whirlpool products and the integrity of the company. This is important because I was without an operating refrigerator for 6 weeks, it was brand new, but It was not a Whirlpool product. It will be the next time. Thank you Craig!

The technician who arrived was polite, respectful, and he knew what he was doing. He arrived on time, finished the job fast and cleaned up after himself. I would recommend Dan Marc Appliance to anyone.

It remains to be seen whether or not I will change this review. I have a Whirlpool dryer that is 1 yr 8 months old. Whirlpool is well aware of the recalls and issues that these machines have even if they won't admit it. Dan Marc Appliance is a verified and certified repair company for Whirlpool and as such, knows exactly what the issues are with said machines, yet neglected to have the necessary parts available when they came out to "fix" my machine. I took a day off from work to have this handled. I even called the day before to make sure they had the part on the truck before the service tech arrived. I was told "yes" that the appropriate parts were already allocated and available for my repair. Again, with only an explanation of the issue, they already knew what the necessary part would need replacement!(Control board) Tech shows up and doesn't have the part and leaves my house in about 7 minutes time. Most of which was spent telling me it's not his fault! My review will hopefully change once I hear back from them when the part shows up? Total waste of my time/money(losing a days pay) and theirs. Could have been prevented with simple communication, or is it complete lack of concern for the customer? I guess I'll find out?!

They never solve the problem instead creat problem. I bought a extende repair plan for my refrigerator, they messed up with the plan with the whirlpool company and until today, Dan Marc haven't fix my cooling problem.

Dishwasher repair tech came and adjusted my dishwasher that had been installed 5 years ago because it was having trouble draining and giving an error code. This was fine, except the dishwasher now rocked back and forth whenever i opened the door. The dishwasher didn't rock before the tech came.
3 weeks later it stopped working and the same tech was dispatched again. He didn't check anything, told me I needed an electrician because the outlet didnt have power, and started packing up his stuff. I had to point out that other outlets on the same breaker did have power, and he reluctantly pulled the dishwasher out again. It had become unplugged from the constant rocking back and forth.
Asked the tech what could be done about the rocking, he told me it had been installed incorrectly and that I needed to hire an "appliance guy."
First of all, it was working fine with no issues for 5 years before the tech came, and his adjustment caused it to move so much that it unplugged itself within three weeks. Seems like it was installed decently well the first time. Second of all, isn't he an "appliance guy"??? Like dude if it's installed wrong can you install it correctly?
Bottom line is I probably would not call again because the tech was not very helpful. On the other hand, this company has great dispatchers and it's very easy to make an appointment. I was also fortunate that the second visit was less than a month after the first, so they didn't charge me for the second visit because it was within the 30 day warranty. I would have been pretty mad if I had to pay for the second visit. -
Our repair rep arrived early for an 8-11am appointment.
Ken introduced himself and inquired as to our refrigerator concerns.
Upon hearing our thoughts he proceeded to diagnose and explain what he was doing to solve our issue.
Ken was thorough, meticulous, and informative as he was performing his tasks in order to solve our problem.
Ken was very respectful of our kitchen flooring and the area surrounding his work area.
Ken was very professional and highly qualified performing his tasks.
Great job -
A Dan Marc Appliance technician serviced our washer and the experience was perfect. The tech was on time, courteous, had great communication skills, was professional and clearly had the experience to make this a quick and easy repair. It's nice to know they carry an assortment of replacement parts in their vehicle. They also texted eta. I would call again.

On the 1st visit, i never received the call that he was on his way, to put my dog away, when he arrived, he was in my yard, I asked him to go back outside the gate, just in case as I went back inside, if she does get out, didn't want anything to happen to him, & went back to put her away, as i did that, he pulled attitude cause of me asking him to go to other side of the gate & left, when I called Dan marc back, when I realized he had left, all she told me, he wouldn't come back & had to reschedule, the 2nd time, they had parked across my neighbors driveway, so I asked him to move to my other neighbor driveway were I had permission for him to park, (cause of the snow) when I came back out, I said was ok to come in, he said for me to come & open up the gate cause of last time,
That because I had asked him to go back, outside my front gate, (1st visit) I said that was because if she got out, didn't want anything to happen to him, he finally came in, asked what problem was, told him electric ignition on oven wasn't right with lightning & the chrome around door was coming off, tried to light the oven, checked burners, closed oven door, chrome popped off, oven wouldn't light, said he was going to write report either to repair or replace the oven for Choice home warranty & left, was here less than 10 minutes, (5 minutes at best)
find out later on after that, after my claim was denied, cause he said misuse or abuse of the oven was the reason why repair was needed...
The thing is, my oven is over 15 years old, & i haven't used my broiler in years, so yea, broiler was dusty, but my oven & burners itself are clean, & the thing is also, none of the other repair technicians, over the past 3-4years of repairs, never said anything about that,
If i would have known it would be same technican from the 1st visit, I would have just asked for a different technican, just because of his attitude with him leaving, & not returning, when I was just thinking about his best interest, just in case, with my dog getting out, so now I still dont have an oven, & out $85 for the diagnostic fee
so instead, im just buying a new stove
