Everything that they advertise on their website is the opposite. There is no 24 hour service. There is no upfront pricing and they do such a poor job that they have to keep coming back and trying to charge you more for mistakes they made. Very corrupt and rude customer service.

True Light Electric installed a new 200amp service panel to my home. They took care of everything, including contacting PNM and making arrangements with PNM for new service drop to my house. They did a great job installing the new panel, breaker box and service drop. They also ran new circuits for the A/C system that was getting installed.

They gave me a quote and stuck to it.

I would not recommend this company. This was my experience:

We were in the process of contacting many companies to get quotes for a job. True Light Electric came to our house and gave a quote for our job, as well as upgrades that were not asked for or required by code. For our own reasons we decided not to go with this company and they were made aware of our decision via a phone call.

However, prior to hearing back from us True Light Electric had already called PNM to schedule an appointment under his name. We were not aware of this until our electrician attempted to make an appointment and could not because our address was listed under the True Light company. I called PNM and changed the appointment under our chosen electrician.

Today, our electrician was here to do our job and work with PNM for our electrical upgrade. However, PNM did not show up because True Light called PNM yesterday and canceled our appointment.

The important thing to note here, is that we never had a signed contract or verbal agreement to work with True Light Electric. Even still they to took it upon themselves to schedule appointments that were not asked for and later interfere with scheduling that I, myself had made. Our job is now pushed back by one month thanks to True Light Electric.

You cannot go wrong with work by True Light Electric, Chris, or any of the superb technicians he hires. These folks have done work for me before as a subcontractor for a remodel we had done. They are a bit on the high side of pricing, but they do great work, and the techs are extremely knowledgable. I just spent $200 to get a simple outlet replaced, following the completion of some necessary troubleshooting. I normally do this stuff myself, but there appeared to be something else going on, so I called the pros. The technician was great. But the day after he left, the lights on the circuit started flickering, and the power was gone again. I called for them to recheck, and even as busy as they are, Chris sent another tech out ASAP to find out what happened. True to his word, he did not charge me another service fee for coming back out and fixing the problem. Not only was the issue resolved permanently, but I was offered some expert advice to prevent future issues. I will be hiring these guys again to do a bunch of recessed lighting for me too. As of right now, I couldn't be happier or more pleased. Thanks True Light! You brightened my wife's day, which means you also brightened mine!

Update: The owner contacted me the same day my installation happened asking how everything went. I explained to him my frustrations about not being notified of the “show up fee” and by not letting potential customers know it’s like we were being scammed into paying. I also explained to him about being referred by the dealership and that this experience was not what should have happened as a new electric car owner trying to get a charger installed. He did apologize and said that he will have to talk to his technicians about the fee. I explained to him that he needs to educated his receptionist to explain that to customers as they are scheduling. He did state that he strives for 100% customer satisfaction and offered a refunded discount for the miscommunication and being an Acura referral. I do appreciate his effort to make it right.

I had a charger for my NEW electric car installed by them (this is a new process for us as new electric car owners) as they were recommended by the dealership. They do not list any upfront prices on their website and when you call you are just told that their technicians will come out and give a quote for the services. We were expecting around $600ish as that was what the dealership stated it will be around. When they came out, they advised that there is going to be a $69 show up fee that was NOT stated at the time that I called to make the appointment. And when we stated that, the technician said that’s mandatory. If you are going to charge that it needs to be stated so customers don’t get forced into paying that fee. And then you don’t even waive the fee as we still agreed to have you install the charger. In the end I paid almost $800, shop around because other companies don’t charge that much.

Jeremy completed work at our community Latitude recently. He was attentive and kind. Jeremy successfully repaired our electrical for both our rooftop terrace and pet spa. Thankful for his support.

I had a great experience with True Light Electric. The service was prompt, professional, and reasonably priced. I especially want to recognize the technician, Santiago, who did an outstanding job. He was knowledgeable, courteous, and took the time to explain everything clearly. The work was done efficiently and with great attention to detail. I highly recommend True Light Electric and would definitely ask for Santiago again in the future.

Santiago came out today on a brief service call. Unfortunately I’m not able to afford the service I need just yet but the insight that Santiago provided was well worth the small service call fee. Coincidentally I also bought a tool box from the owner about a year ago and he was very kind. The communication leading up to the service call was on point. Would highly recommend True Light and will absolutely be calling them back when I’m ready for more work.
