Pete's Landscaping is the best for firewood, We've been buying from them for a few years, today Jan.7 they delivered the most perfect wood ever. Customers for life.. Great Customer service and driver....
-
Be sure to check you get the quantity ordered if you get it delivered. Twice they've shorted my truck deliveries. The first time a manager came and quickly corrected the problem. The second time I was told by a rather rude female rep that I got what I ordered and that they couldn't have made a mistake. I asked to have a manager come out to inspect the delivery so they can see for themselves the delivery was 3 to 4 yards short of the 15 ordered. Nobody showed up. They have a good selection of quality landscape materials but consider taking take your business elsewhere if want to sure you get what you paid for on delivered material.

Edit: They unexpectedly brought some additional seasoned wood to compensate for the unseasoned (read freshly cut) cord we had delivered a couple weeks ago. The new stuff burns quite well and their customer service has been great in addition to their delivery personnel.
--------------------
We had a cord of wood, mixed piñon and cedar, delivered. Customer service was friendly and they arrived as promised and were able to deliver the same day we called. I believed we were getting seasoned wood as advertised on their website. However, the wood was incredibly difficult to get burning and to stay burning. I called to inquire and found out they accidentally gave us one cord of Unseasoned wood. Customer service told me they would send me additional seasoned wood. They also told me to add the unseasoned wood to the seasoned wood once the seasoned wood turned into hot coals. I'm not sure how that will work when I cannot get the unseasoned wood to stay on fire. Today they delivered 66 pieces of seasoned wood to mix with the unseasoned wood. Very disappointed. -
I will start with the resolution, and upgrade them to three stars from one. We were contacted by Pete's and Sandra apologized sincerely for what had happened. The driver was NOT Pete Jr (he lied) and he was sent home for the day. They took the time to reach out to me and express what I feel was sincere concern. It doesn't erase my morning, but its a pretty good start. Well done.
We ordered playground mulch, Pete Jr showed up at 5:00 in the morning (5 hours early!!!) and said they had screwed up a big order and needed the truck. I complained and he said it didn't matter because HE was the owner, made a HUGE amount of noise as he dumped the mulch in a giant truck, woke up all of my neighbors and sped off down my street before the back of the truck was even all the way down. Unbelievably RUDE, terrible customer service! -
Told me they would deliver between 8:30-10:30. Over an hour late. When I called them no apology or explanation. Poor customer service.
Originally gave 2 stars. Owner's son delivered 1 1/2 hr late and had a reasonable excuse...still could've called. Set me back hours. With a simple call I could done other things I had planned.
I see owner's response but it doesn't jive with what his son told me, so whatever. Their prices are decent and if you don't care what time they quote you for delivery then they are okay. -
James, the estimator, came out today for pricing on sod and he also brought my rock samples, called to come out earlier than scheduled which was nice. Great price and friendly service all around. The rock is just what I was looking for, so I called the office to order 3 yards. They will deliver it this Saturday but unable to give a delivery time, just that they will give my a call on Saturday before arriving. No biggie! UPDATE to come!
We got our rock, tonight, they ask if they could delivery early. Friendly delivery guy and we are pleased with the product!! -
I will never order from them again. Reasonably good wood, but when I called they said it would be delivered in the morning and it wasn't delivered until 2:30 in the afternoon (after I called asking why). Then they dumped the wood in the driveway - they did not stack it. When I called to complain, the manager said that they never give anyone an appointment for "the morning" it is only 10 - 2 pm. That wasn't what I was told. When I asked why I wasn't told that it would just be dumped in the driveway (a full cord of wood) they said, "Oh there's a $50 charge for that - every wood yard in town charges for that." Here's the problem they didn't tell me any of that when I called they just said it would be delivered. I assumed it would be put where I wanted it. They didn't offer to stack it for the additional $50. I also ordered some hardwood for our meat smoker. They just dumped that in with everything else and expected me to be able to tell the difference.

I have purchased firewood of years from Pete's, among other items. My last experience will be my last period. Not only was the quality of wood VERY POOR (1/2 cord NM blend-we normally buy full cords but I was short on space this particular time), it was like fireworks going off in my fire place. I was very fearful of my Brazilian Koa wood floor burning from the flying embers that my screen just couldn't restrain. I had to feed the fire every 45 minutes because it would completely burn up in less than an hour. Sure maybe it's my fault for not splurging on the most expensive firewood like usual... and it was short as usual...no where near a measured half cord. However they shouldn't carry wood like that in the first place. It causes a huge fire risk. I was afraid to leave it unattended for any length of time. And this is our primary source of heat. But the worst part was that when they delivered we asked them nicely to watch how they were carelessly throwing the wood from the truck because they were doing it very closely to a new 5k custom gate we just had built. Well, wouldn't you know it, not 3 minutes later they threw a log directly at the gate and gouged a big chunk out of the wood gate. We called and told the woman in the office. (I believe my husband even sent over photos.) She said they would take care of it, we never got a call back...this was months ago. Not that I would even allow them to touch this gate but they could have found some way of making this right. I own a construction company and would never cause damage to a clients home then disregard it, hoping to just go away. Very displeased. This lack of customer service is through and through the organizational culture. From the product to the employees all the way to management. It's no small wonder why the delivery personnel didn't take care in their job or listen to our request. Management has ignored us too. I will also need to pay a couple hundred dollars to fix my gate...Thanks Pete...We will be taking our business to A1 Firewood in the future.

Ordered a cord of wood from Pete’s. Upon their delivery I stacked it and measured the load. I was shorted 48 cubic feet. That’s 1/3 of a cord short. I called and they said they would make it right. Upon the new delivery it was 30 cubic feet. Still short 15 cubic feet. I understand that there is going to be some short it’s stacked wood it’s hard to get it exact due to gaps. But this is pretty bad. When they say delivered they also tack on a fuel charge, just add it into the price and be honest about it this was never mentioned. When you say that price delivered its that price delivered not plus fuel.
I went with a business this year to see if I would get better wood and seasoned. Honestly I am disappointed. I shouldn’t have to call them 3 times for separate drop offs to make it right. Give me what I paid for in the first place. Do not recommend. If their shorting their wood what else are they shorting in materials. -
I purchased firewood from Pete's. I requested seasoned oak which they said they have and list on their website. Unfortunately, the wood is not seasoned and still has a high moisture content. It is very difficult to light and constantly smokey. I called twice and emailed customer service to discuss my concerns and see if there is a possible resolution. I have yet to hear back over the course of 3 months. I have not used their other services, so I do not want this review to reflect the entirety of their company, but I would not recommend purchasing fire wood from Pete's.

Received my order in full. The wood is seasoned and of good quality. I appreciate the hasty response to my complaint. Would do business again based on the fix.
Update: Sandra called me this morning and said the driver had picked up an incorrect load and that I would receive the rest of my wood either 10/28 or 10/29. I will update the review to 5 stats when I receive my wood.
Original: This is another typical Albuquerque wood buying experience for me. At best I've received just over a half cord after spending just under $300 for a full cord. For reference the bottom of my windows sit at 4 feet. Hoping to receive a phone call when they are open for business.
BTW: a full cord is 4'x4'x8' neatly stacked or roughly 128 cubic ft of wood. This pile is barely over half a cord. -
We ordered top soil to cover 1/2 of our yard (15 tons), and then crusher fines for the same area (15 tons). These 2 deliveries were okay. Then we ordered top soil for the remaining 1/2 (15 more tons). This delivery was short. We did not get what we paid for. To make matters worse, the soil was about 1/4 to 1/3 very large rocks and construction debris (sprinkler pipes...). The driver said he would come back and pick up the rocks. I called the office 3 different times, and was told we would get an additional 4 tons of soil to make up for the short load, and that they would need equipment to load the rocks. It took several weeks, but we finally got the soil. Unfortunately, after 3 different calls to the office, we never did get them to pick up and haul off the rocks and other junk. My husband spent a lot of time removing all the junk from the soil to be able to spread the soil. It was back breaking work for anyone, but especially for a senior citizen. Pete's should be ashamed of themselves. I would not recommend using this business. Needless to say we used another company to order the crusher fines needed to complete the job. It turns out the other company was significantly lower priced as well!

This was the worst load of wood we have ever received. We were told the wood was cut to 18", this wood is much larger with branches sticking out all over, does not fit our stove. This was not cedar. We had to purchase a chain saw to cut it ourselves. We are elderly and not expecting to spend money on a chain saw let alone cut it. Very expensive experience. We will never use this company again.

Extremely disappointed. No veteran discount on a vet owned business, poor customer service by the lady with a huge attitude in the office. Staff looked disgruntled and paid 180$ for a 4x4 stack . Don’t go there you can get firewood elsewhere for cheaper! Place is a rip !!!!
-
I don't think you care about your customers to treat them this way. You won't refund me for product I overpaid for, which you quoted to me how much I would need and it was too much. Wouldn't even refund the delivery fee which I also didn't need. Is it customary in today's business to take people's money and not deliver a product or service and refuse to give it back? Goes against standards of basic human morals. Don't trust these guys. I won't change this review until unless someone makes it right cuz I don't need to be spending $210 more dollars than I don't need to

Ordered 15 yards of stone delivered. They came with their 15 yard truck maybe 70% full. Definitely will not cover what 15 yards is supposed to cover. We have it being spread to where it might cover an 80x10 ft area 3in thick. It really should go a lot farther than that. I wouldn't recommend them based on this experience.

Just needed 2 Home Depot buckets of Santa Fe brown to fill in some spots in my yard. Woman in the yard said 19 cents a pound. 2 buckets was 94 pounds. Woman in the office said 38 cents a pound. Nearly $40 for 2 buckets of rocks! Not coming back.

This is the beauty of google reviews. Ive never even used this business but i know by the reviews that i never wilk. Leaving a bad review just based off their responses to poor customer reviews. You can clearly tell from their replies that they do not care about their customers and its pretty much "well this is what you said/ wanted" type of excuse response. Its always the customers fault, not one of their responses takes responsibility, but instead turns in on the customer with some sort of passive agressive excuse. You can tell there is no common sense on their end, yes the customer told you to unload the wood there, but did you not even consider that you're blocking? How neatly you're unloading the product? This is the job of the business to take pride and go above and beyond and communicate with their customers to ensure satisfaction, not just "well that's what you wanted so you got it." Type of attitude which is evident in their responses.

Place to get firewood in emergency yet overpriced the handful of times getting. Unpleasant people. Laborers are a great help.

Pete's fill and topsoil is high quality and was delivered on a timely, professional manner. Highly recommended!

I usually love going here but this time after I got home, I looked at my receipt (should have looked before paying). I was charged a fuel fee. I bought three small rocks and a small piece of flagstone. I called to ask about the fuel charge and was told its for the fuel used on equipment used to load my order. Interesting because the man weighed it, picked it up and placed it in my back seat, 10 feet away. No equipment used. I carried the four pieces to the scale.
He also added all pieces for one price when my small flagstone actually was a lesser price per pound. I was told the fuel fee is auto generated but not a word of oh we should not have charged you that…so I paid a fuel fee for others? and all small orders are lumped as one price?
okay.
