James and his team were amazing! My backyard looks incredible! They added a perfect water feature that matched the rock features already in the yard so everything matches. They added an amazing paver patio and walk way that they took the time to level and framed it tight so the pavers are won't come loose. They also replaced the crusher fine with bigger gravel so I'm not dragging dust into the house. They also replaced the wiring for my drip system control and fixed the leaks they found in the system. They were done in less than a week. They cleaned up the yard after they were finished. My backyard is what I have been wanting since I moved in. Highly recommend!

Working with Daiz Landscaping was a good experience. Brandon and all the office staff were great to deal with. We are also very happy with the results!

Being the parents of 2 young boys aged 3 years and 16 months old, we knew there was little time to keep up with the landscaping of the large back, side and front yards of the house that our son and daughter-in-law purchased shortly before their first was born. Right at the appointed time, James Diaz came to hear our concerns about the yards, answered questions we had and made recommendations for the “deep clean” we thought it needed. He also identified that we had a tree that was infected with borers (we didn’t know what they were initially).

We received the estimate as promised and were able to pick and choose the items we wanted easily. I talked most often with Alexia who was always professional, friendly and helpful. When the work was scheduled, they arrived on the days and times as expected. Alexia regularly communicated to advise of their anticipated arrival. I was able to be at home when the landscape workers were there and saw how efficiently and thorough they were in the removal of weeds, removal of the infected tree, trimming of all our shrubs, removal of the old mulch and the laying down of the new compost in our backyard. They blew and cleaned up all of the debris in our yards and finally applied pre-emergent and and weed treatment. They did a beautiful job! I am so pleased with how the yards look now. Thank you!

I purchased my house knowing that my yard needed a lot of work. It was a hodgepodge of overgrown shrubs, broken flagstone and rotting railroad ties, an assortment of potted plants and a random splattering of multiple different types of gravel.

I found Whelchel & Gleason via my Landscape Architect (Michael Polikoff Landscapes, who I would also highly recommend) and decided to go with Whelchel & Gleason on the basis of their detailed proposal, fair prices, and obvious professionalism. Bill Whelchel was very warm and approachable, professional, creative and worked well with my landscape architect. Bill was very helpful to figure out how to break the total project into phases, and he finished the first phase of the project on time and right on budget. No complications, no drama, no cutting corners, and everything was done right the first time. When corrections were necessary he and his team were right on it. Could not ask for more.

My new backyard is absolutely beautiful and really transformed the look of my property. It looks well planned and finished. I would highly recommend Whelchel & Gleason for your landscaping project.

We just moved into a brand new house with bare dirt in the backyard. Dimitri met with us to walk through the yard. He listened to what we liked and our ideas. He provided a great plan that included trees, plants, a flagstone path, and a sideway around the side of our house from front to back. His plan was beyond our expectations and we loved it. Sergio and his crew implemented Dimitri's plan expertly and very efficiently. We were very happy with how quickly the work was completed and by such professional yet friendly staff. Dimitri checked in with us regularly so communication was fantastic. The crew cleaned up everything when the job was completed. We have nothing but good things to say about Dimitri, Sergio, and the crew. We would definitely recommend this company for anyone with landscaping needs.

Had used Whelchel Landscaping 25 years ago when they had first started out. We had since moved to a different home and needed some landscape updating. Bill and Demitri came on time to give us a estimate. We needed gravel and plants added,some grass removed, sprinkler update,and a large tree removed that was pushing up against a common wall. Team showed up on time and all were very friendly and helpful. They took the tree down which was incredible to watch because they had to protect the wall and the adjacent pool. Workers were so efficient, and knowledgeable. The final product is beautiful and Dimitri was a pleasure to work with. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND...This job was done as well as it was 25 years ago!

Still pulling broken glass from my yard that came from the soil conditioner you said you got from Pete’s Landscaping. This is dangerous and it’s been 7 years. Still pulling glass. The soil conditioner came from the mesa or a dump alongside an abandoned road. The amount of glass has been insane and I told Bill immediately about the issue. He got mad when I asked where the “soil
Conditioner” came from. He yelled he got it from Pete’s landscaping, which is an outright lie. Bill, thanks for the soil conditioner, which I paid extra for. Glass continues to emerge. Shame on you. Response to owner’s response: Bill Whelchel, you are lying 100%!! I have lived in this home for 30 years. There was NEVER any GLASS trash in my yard until you got mad and brought in the second load of “soil conditioner” which was loaded with weeds from the desert and GLASS. You actually tried to accuse Pete’s landscaping as the source. This was 7 years ago, and glass still emerges when it rains. I do not understand where your morals are to do this to a lady and her property, blame Pete’s Landscaping, and then try to lie and say there was already glass everywhere. I insist you take responsibility for this publicly and stop with the lies. I would never hold you accountable if the glass were already in my yard. You have destroyed my yard, I can never walk barefoot, and my pets could get injured baldly. How dare you!!!

My search is finally over. After years of trying different landscapers, I’ve found the best for yard maintenance. Their attention to detail was so appreciated, as my yard has various gardens and varieties of plants. When they weren’t sure about how I would want something, they simply asked. Believe it or not, this is hard to find. They were also knowledgeable about what many of my plants were, despite still being dormant. Other landscapers were doing a cookie cutter spring cleanup, while Whelchel was actually taking care of every detail unique to my individual yard. Although they didn’t know it, they also came at a difficult time. Our old and deeply loved little dog had just passed away and we’d buried her in a garden at the side of the house. I made her a little stepping stone and set it down where she was buried. Knowing the yard was a mess and the landscapers were coming, I decided I would go back later and properly get her stone situated after they were done. The day after they finished, my husband and I went out to take care of her stone and it was already done. Neatly set flush into the gravel and cleaned off.

The Whelchel team, lead by Dmitri Almanzar, exceeded our expectations. Dmitri LISTENED when we told him what we wanted and designed a plan that captured our vision. Work crews, from demo to irrigation to planting to masonry were exceptional. Everyone showed up when they said they would, did the work beautifully, cleaned up after themselves, and were pleasant to have around. The project was completed in the promised time-frame and looks wonderful. We absolutely recommend this company!

We hired Whelchel Landscaping for a major landscaping project in our backyard. The company was outstanding from start to finish. Ray Whelchel identified our needs, submitted a fantastic design, and guided us through the process. The construction crew worked hard, communicated well, and completed the project on time. The final results are incredible, and all the work was done to a very high standard. We are incredibly happy with Whelchel’s work and recommend them enthusiastically.

We had a small wall installed on the side of our home to replace a cheap metal fence, planted a new tree with new irrigation lines, and moved a couple rose bushes. The quality and efficiency of the work Whelchel did was wonderful. The masonry and landscaping was perfect and the crew got it done in two days between larger projects they had going on. It says a lot about a company when they're willing to put in extra effort instead of wasting downtime.

Working with Dmitri was easy from the start, and he was flexible with scheduling a time to discuss the project, and quick to provide a quote as well as staying in contact with us throughout. The whole crew was very pleasant, friendly, hardworking and respectful, and they explained what they did with a few added suggestions to make sure people like us (non-green thumbs) didn't ruin everything.
