I had been searching for a landscaping company for quite a while before I discovered Shelly Landscaping. Most companies don't service residential needs. The landscape consultant provided ideas I hadn't even realized were possible. I'm looking forward to getting the project started.

The SS Team has been outstanding to work with. We hired them to design and construct our backyard landscaping. We have lots of elevation change in our yard, and SS designed and executed a wonderful layout that we'll enjoy for many years.

Let me start off with saying Steve Shelly's crews do very professional work and are proud of it. We signed the contract in early December 2024 and were told that would take to mid summer 2025 to finish. It wasn't a huge job but they have a significant backlog so be prepared for a long process with incremental advances. The two areas that they could improve on are 1) be accessible during regular business hours - read your email, answer texts and return phone calls and 2) be proactive in letting the homeowner know crews are going to be at the home and when they had a change of plans. I would have given 5 stars if they were more proactive and responsive. This could be easily fixed.

Very disappointing experience. This company markets itself as offering high-end, professional landscape architecture, but the reality was far different. I paid for the expertise of a seasoned architect, yet the work was handled by a recent graduate with little practical experience.

The design methods felt outdated and lacked the creativity or modern approach I expected from a firm charging premium rates. On top of that, the company doesn’t even use modern design software to help clients visualize their projects — their process is archaic and far behind industry standards. In the end, the plans were so unusable that they were never implemented, and I truly wish I could recover the >$4,000 I spent.

While the staff may be well-intentioned, the service simply did not match what was promised or advertised. For the price, I expected far better. I cannot recommend this company to anyone seeking true professional quality

We have used Steve Shelly Landscapes for two major yard reconstructions (front and back) and have been extremely pleased with the results. The team is knowledgeable, helpful and thoroughly professional. We will use them for yard maintenance now and will expect the same great results!

Highly recommend. Great job of professional design and update of old landscaping, including digging out old tree roots and railroad ties, removing and replacing gravel, selection and installation of new plants and installation of brick edging and accent lighting. They paid careful attention to detail and took as much time as necessary to provide an excellent result. One plant died over the winter and they quickly replaced it with no questions asked.

He is extremely knowledgeable and did the best pruning of my Japanese Maple it has ever had! I would like for him to come back and trim it again!

I used Shelly to repair some tiered-rock retained with railroad ties landscaping along the side of my house. A car had jumped the sidewalk and wrecked it all and my rocks was starting to pour into the street and my railroad ties were damaged. Shelly Landscaping worked for an entire day restoring everything and making it look new again, which was back-breaking work that took about 6 hours with 2 people. They did an amazing job and I would use them again! Highly recommend!

Great team! Installers were great! Design was beautiful. They created an oasis that enhanced our great view and gave us a great place to relax.
