My three-year-old AC unit started leaking into my apartment, and I tried using some Shamwow cloths without success. I searched far and wide for someone to fix it, but it turned out to be a frustrating experience. Luckily, I stumbled upon Ace Air Conditioning. They clearly cater to many customers, which gave me confidence in their expertise.

Initially, the price seemed steep, but what they offered was an elaborate process that made sense given my reliance on it year-round. When I compared prices with another company, I was told we didn't match up - and honestly, that's exactly what I needed. Investing in a reliable solution is worth the extra cost.

Keith was always pleasant to talk to over the phone, and he delivered on his promises. The technicians were also professional and made me feel at ease, despite my initial hesitation about having strangers in my home. What struck me most was how rare it is for window AC services - these guys are among the few who can help. I highly recommend them, as you get what you pay for. It was worth every penny to avoid the hassle of searching elsewhere.

Marty and his team have consistently failed to follow through on their commitments, having scheduled, confirmed, and missed four appointments to install air conditioners at my property. Despite paying $600 for this essential service, they've been negligent, irresponsible, and unethical. With summer well underway, I'm still without AC, a dire situation that's left me feeling frustrated and helpless. The team has repeatedly apologized and assured me they'd show up, only to renege on their promises again. This experience ranks among the worst with any small business in NYC, making me question their integrity and reliability.

Great experience with this company. I called them with no idea what was wrong with my AC, just looking for someone to fix it. The person on the phone listened and then explained that the issue was likely due to improper installation - not a problem with the unit itself. What struck me was that they recommended exploring cheaper options to reinstall rather than booking their own service. This shows a genuine commitment to transparency and customer needs, even if it means forgoing potential revenue. The team's expertise is evident, but what really impressed me was their integrity in prioritizing honesty over profit.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

I booked an appointment with them 10 days in advance, but they failed to show up without any notice or attempt to contact me. I was forced to call multiple times before they finally arrived late in the afternoon. The communication with the technician was non-existent, and even the person who took my initial calls couldn't provide a timeline for their visit.

When they did arrive, they promised to get back to me with a quote for a new AC unit. However, not a single call or message has been returned since then - despite my follow-up attempts. I even spoke to the manager, who seemed friendly enough at first, but their lack of follow-through was appalling. It's been almost a week now and still no response.

Their complete disregard for customer respect is staggering. If you value your time and don't want to be left in the dark, stay far away from this company.

Terrible experience with this company. I paid them and they took my units, but now I'm paying the price - I've had no heat for nine days in freezing January. The initial issues were frustrating because they claimed to be a family-owned business with over 60 years of experience, but their lack of reliability was appalling. What's even more infuriating is that when they said they needed to pick up parts at a hardware store, they never followed through. Now, my units are still without heat and no one is responding to my calls or emails.

I rented an air conditioner from them for a short period, but my return date was October 14th. Two weeks prior, I tried to arrange a pickup, as I'd be occupied on that day. Unfortunately, no one has responded to my calls or voicemails over the past two weeks. The company seems unresponsive and unreliable - avoid using their services at all costs.

I'm stuck writing this review, as I genuinely believe in supporting local businesses and had the chance to work with Ace Air Conditioning, but they fell short.

Initially, I reached out to Ace on May 15 about renting an air conditioning unit for my apartment. The initial contact was great – Marty was extremely helpful, requesting photos and measurements of the space that needed cooling. He provided guidance on the type of unit I'd need, and by May 17, he had a unit available with a rental price that included delivery, installation, and removal. We confirmed my interest, and I shared the dimensions of the window where the unit would be installed to ensure it fit.

However, things took a turn for the worse when I hadn't received any updates after a few days. I had to call multiple times during work hours to get an update on the scheduled date. Initially, they mentioned Friday, May 24 as the tentative date, but later acknowledged that they might not be able to reach me by then. We agreed on Thursday, May 30 as the new appointment date.

On May 28, I called to confirm my appointment for May 30, and was told I'd receive a call back. Unfortunately, no one contacted me, so I had to follow up with another call the next day. The technician assured me that I was still on schedule for May 30.

I took the day off work to wait for this appointment, but by 4 pm, I hadn't heard anything from Ace. When I called, they told me I was scheduled between 4-7 pm, with the technician arriving closer to 7 pm. However, when he called at 6:12 pm, he explained that his partner/co-worker had walked off the job, and he had no way of delivering the unit due to the inclement weather. He apologized profusely but seemed unconvincing.

The fact that it was raining heavily made sense for him not to want to make a delivery, but what's concerning is that he didn't seem to be taking responsibility or offering any alternative solutions. Instead, he suggested rescheduling for the next day and told me I could call the office to arrange this – shouldn't they have been proactively calling me?

Given my initial positive experience with Marty, it's disheartening that I'll need to seek assistance from another company. Even if Ace wanted to rectify their mistakes, I'm not confident in their ability to follow through on their commitments. Unfortunately, I won't be able to accommodate any further service appointments until June 15th at the earliest – a full month after my initial contact with Ace.

I've rarely had a bad experience with this company, but over the past two and a half weeks, my frustrations have been mounting. Despite calling both numbers every day and leaving voicemails nonstop, no one has returned my calls or responded to my emails. I've even left multiple messages on their voicemail, including providing my name, number, and invoice details, in case someone needed to get back to me.

My air conditioner rental was originally due to be returned on October 15, but now it's overdue. Given the circumstances, I'm hoping that no late fees will be incurred. To whoever is responsible for addressing this issue, I urge you to contact me as soon as possible so we can arrange for the return of my unit.

I've been trying to reach out to you guys for two weeks, and I'm getting desperate. If I don't hear from someone on Monday at the supposed pickup location, I'll have no choice but to escalate this issue with my credit card company and the Better Business Bureau. As a loyal customer who doesn't want to take this further, especially against a family-owned business with a long history, I'm left with few options.

I've been patient and willing to wait, but my patience is wearing thin. I just want my air conditioner back, and I hope that we can resolve this matter amicably without involving outside parties. Please, for the sake of resolving this issue quickly, get in touch with me ASAP.

Our experience with this established company was underwhelming, leaving us questioning its long-standing reputation. The current state is where it stands today.

In our interactions, we found the phone support to be understaffed, leading to extended hold times before being attended to by the manager, Marti. She would repeatedly put us on hold while trying to commit to resolving our issue. While no company is perfect, and older firms can be backed up, this experience was particularly frustrating.

During our call, we shared specific details about our unit's location – it was at the top window – but unfortunately, our concerns were dismissed. When I inquired about the initial cost of the repair, Marti mentioned a fee of $125, with any additional costs being applied to the diagnosis if needed.

However, this turned out to be a crucial point: despite being informed that servicemen would arrive between 1pm and 4pm, we were required to attend an earlier appointment time – 12:20pm. When the technicians arrived, they discovered our unit was functioning properly, which further undermined our concerns.

The technician initially suggested that the unit needed repair due to some slight noises on the fan, but these issues disappeared while he was inspecting it. It was then recommended that we have our unit removed, with a bill of $353. When I politely stated that my unit didn't require repair and offered to alert them if it failed, they presented an invoice of this amount.

I pointed out the discrepancy in their quoted price during our initial call and requested that they charge only the diagnostic fee for the day. However, Marti insisted on a higher rate, claiming $353 as the correct total. Despite my repeated attempts to clarify the situation, she remained resolute in her assertion.

To further illustrate this issue, I had the technician revise his invoice to reflect a lower price of $175, which was initially quoted but later increased. This demonstrates how easily they can change their prices without regard for customer convenience or consistency.

Our experience with this company has left us questioning its commitment to honesty and fairness. It seems that they prioritize making money over providing transparent services to their customers.

I recently had a disastrous experience with Ace that left me thoroughly disappointed. Initially, the staff were friendly when I purchased my air conditioners a few years ago, but my positive impression quickly turned sour.

Upon reflection, I realize I overpaid for the units, and their lack of concern about providing quality service became clear. When one of the air conditioners stopped cooling within two years, I called Ace for assistance. However, the repairman's visit was woefully inadequate, with him simply stating that the unit was leaking freon and it would be cheaper to replace it rather than repairing it.

The $150 charge for this brief consultation felt like a rip-off, especially considering it took less than 20 minutes to diagnose the issue. After replacing the broken AC with a new one at a fraction of the cost from Home Depot, I discovered how poorly Ace had installed the faulty unit in my pre-war building. Drilling into the marble was unnecessary and posed a risk of major damage.

Removing the installation proved to be an arduous task, requiring me to disassemble the air conditioner while it was still in the window. I was forced to pay someone to professionally remove it due to lack of another option. It appears that Ace's installation method is designed to necessitate their removal services, charging customers extra for what should be a standard procedure.

A professional who removed the faulty installation revealed that Ace had installed the unit incorrectly from the start. The tilt caused the freon to leak, resulting in the air conditioner breaking down within two years – an astonishing $850 for a unit that cost $600 and $250 for subpar installation. In total, I've paid over $2,000 for air conditioners due to Ace's incompetence.

Overall, my experience with Ace is strongly worded cautionary tale: avoid this company at all costs.

I was blown away by the exceptional service I received from Ace. From start to finish, every single person involved made me feel like a valued customer. The techs sent to my house were knowledgeable and courteous, while Josh, the supervisor, went above and beyond to ensure everything was done right. Even Kennedi in the office showed genuine enthusiasm for helping me.

My old A coil had developed a leak, so I opted to replace it. Initially, they used an R22 system with the new 410 refrigerant that wasn't compatible with my outside condenser. Thankfully, Josh called and apologized for the mistake, and promptly installed a new Trane condenser free of charge that's compatible with the 410 Freon.

What impressed me most was Josh's commitment to making things right, even if it meant eating the cost himself. His politeness and determination to put my mind at ease were truly remarkable. I now have a brand-new cooling system, courtesy of Ace, after only paying for the A coil.

I've had some terrible experiences with other AC companies in the past, but this experience has completely turned me around. I can honestly say that Ace has earned my loyalty and trust. I'll be using them for all my heating and cooling needs from now on.

The whole ordeal, especially during the holiday season when finances were tight, ended up being a blessing in disguise. So, thank you, guys, for showing what it means to truly care about your customers. Keep up the fantastic work!
