This business does not operate from this address. Its listed address is a residential building. The business is not associated with any residents of the building. They have listed it as the location of their business with the city and state (illegally) and refuse to stop. I have complained to the city and have been told i need to take it up with the district attorney. Don't trust these people with your money, credit info or your property.

I kind of feel like I should start off by saying that a lot of this may have been my fault but I thought I should come share my experience anyway. I was given an old 8x10 office rug for free. It was very faded and looked kind of dirty so I called 5th Ave Carpet Cleaning to get an estimate on how much it would cost to have it cleaned. They quoted me $160 but said they'd have to see it in person. Pick-up and delivery is free so they came to my door to pick it up where they looked at it. Once they were at my door they said it was extremely dirty and would need a deep shampoo and they then bumped up their price while at my house to $480 (!!). I'm 24, this was my first time ever doing a transaction like this and they were literally standing at my door, so I kind of froze and said okay. They then said they only accepted cash or Zelle (which is basically cash) upfront AND THEN they added like a tax fee which brought my total up to $530 (!!!) which I for some reason agreed to and paid. After I paid, the guy got a bit less friendly and when I asked him how the drop off would work (since I work during the week) he said they'd leave it at the door, they could drop it with a neighbor, or I could give him a key to my house (?!?!?!?) which in all fairness... could have been a joke, but he didn't say it with any sort of smile and honestly I just felt it was an extremely inappropriate thing to say. The cleaning took about a week and I did have someone to receive the rug, but I found out that the rug was a $100 Ikea rug and that dirty/faded look was just the pattern of the rug so when they returned it, it looked basically exactly the same. I don't entirely fault them for that... I mean I said it was an old office rug based on what I knew at the time, but you'd think that someone in the rug cleaning industry would be able to tell what's pattern. Overall... I was pretty upset after the whole thing but if I had known what to expect/how to handle things the whole process might have gone a bit smoother. You can make of that what you will.

I had a bad experience with these guys and would not recommend. My rug was cleaned fine but the customer service was really bad and there's so many other places that could do the same work and NOT make you feel sketched out.

I was quoted $140 to have my rug picked up and cleaned. The technician came and recommended a $450 deep clean which I declined. He said if I wanted it to be $140 he would bring the steamer up into my apartment and clean it on the spot - I had to work so I couldn't do that. He told me there would be a cancellation fee if I didn't have him clean or take my rug. I felt very pressured (and also was not told about a cancellation fee on the phone) so paid $250 for a steam and shampoo offsite, which was the cheapest option I was given. An hour later, I called the place again to give my feedback - I told them I didn't have a great experience and is there any way I could get the service I'd been quoted for originally instead - and the manager said that the $140 was for an offsite steam and that the technician must have been confused but did not offer me any remedy. He then scolded me for sharing my feedback with them and said that my rug was already being shampooed so there was no way to change the situation. I was weirded out enough by the whole experience that I wasn't sure I was going to get my rug back at all. Hope this review can help someone else avoid this experience. FYI - the cancellation fee if you change your mind is $50. Also, the business is not at this address in the neighborhood, instead I was given a form for "NYC Local Carpet".

Update: They reached out to me several weeks after I posted this review asking how to remedy and refunded me $110 (after asking several times for me to change my star rating). I'm giving them one more star for responding but I still would not recommend.

I recently had this business clean my carpets, and I was very impressed with the results. My carpets didn't just look clean; they looked brand new. I really need to get on that!
