HVAC reviews in Flushing, New York
-
This place is a go-to for HVAC experts and savvy DIYers like myself. I've sourced various repair parts to fix my old oil burners and gas boilers here, and the prices are fair. Don't expect them to honor those inflated online catalog prices - Johnstone offers better deals for professionals, even for small purchases.
-
The team at this home services company genuinely made me feel at ease - their friendly demeanor is a breath of fresh air.

I've never written a review before, but my experience with this company was outstanding. The staff member I dealt with, Angel Jesus, was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about equipment. He went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed and introduced us to some fantastic tools they had for sale. As someone in the trade who interacts with people daily during tough times, it's reassuring to know that there are professionals like Angel making a positive impact on society.

Betty saved the day with some extra effort. It was a tiny win for her, but she put in the time to find a solution that made our customer extremely satisfied – thanks to her good work!
-
This location has been an absolute nightmare for me, especially considering my 2-month wait for a part. Every time I called in, they just kept pushing it back to the next week without any real updates or progress. The worker Betty was particularly rude and unprofessional - she needs some serious customer service training. Avoid this place altogether for your parts needs.

I've encountered my fair share of subpar suppliers, but Johnstone stands head and shoulders above the rest. The staff, from the office team to the counter experts, are consistently professional and knowledgeable. If assistance is needed, don't hesitate to request Manager Angel – he'll go out of his way to ensure your needs are met.

Top-notch team delivers exceptional service.
-
This particular location is overcharging for MERV 8 filters, selling them for $21 per unit when they can be bought elsewhere for significantly less - I'd say around $14.
-
I've been a customer here for two decades, a remarkable feat considering their exceptional service standards. The team consistently displays kindness and flexibility. When dealing with on-site issues, having Johnstone's crew available provides reassurance that they'll address your concerns promptly and effectively.

Great HVAC supplier in NYC, excellent value for money. Friendly staff with a welcoming vibe. Don't be swayed by other companies' complaints - I'm happy with the service.
-
This handyman was very thorough and meticulous in his work, checking every detail carefully. The repair was excellent and he offered great advice and a good plan. I highly recommend him.
-
Quick and effective job.
-
Just speak with someone directly for a faster and more straightforward experience.
-
The service was handled with great expertise and courtesy, resulting in a high-quality outcome.
-
The untrained staff the manager chose were all amateurs who ended up making a mess by drilling numerous holes in my walls.
-
Great experience with this company, they secured the right NY state program for my new AC unit.
-
Called multiple times after installation, but nothing worked. Had to visit their office and got a poor experience - they seemed more interested in collecting payment than standing by their work. Unreliable and unwilling to back up their promises. Avoid this company at all costs.

Avoid these AC installation companies at all costs. They'll take your hard-earned cash, but be prepared to deal with a whole lot of nothing in return. Forget about getting any assistance when problems arise - they're as good as ghosting you. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.
-
Be cautious with this company - they'll get the job done quickly, but don't expect it to be done right. For example, they might run multiple ground wires from different units into one. If there's a problem later, good luck getting them to answer your calls; they won't pick up until your warranty expires. With Fujitsu, they're only given elite status for the sheer number of units installed in a year, not because of quality work. Trust me, I recently hired someone and paid a lot of money for subpar work done quickly and sloppily. Avoid them at all costs.

This company is very professional. Working with them was a seamless experience. Tom was great to work with, answering all our questions and navigating the rebates process with ConEd's clean heat program. The install team, led by Jeff, completed the job efficiently on July 20th, installing five indoor units, two outdoor, and the necessary wiring and linesets. We're extremely satisfied with the final result.

I hired this company to install my air conditioning unit in the bedrooms. Unfortunately, just a day later, I was dealing with a massive water leak that had ruined my hardwood floors. Upon inspecting the unit, I found that the hose connecting it to the system was held together with tape - a clear sign of poor workmanship. The issue was that the hose wasn't securely attached to the HVAC unit, causing the leak. As someone with experience in construction and electrical work, I suspected laziness on the part of the installer was the culprit.
When I called them to fix the problem, they were unwilling to come without charging a $150 service call fee. They claimed the warranty only covered repairs for a year, but I think bad work should be taken responsibility for regardless of time frame. I'm extremely disappointed with this company and want to warn others: you get what you pay for, and they'll likely cause headaches down the line if you don't keep a close eye on everything.
