I recently had the pleasure of working with 3rd Roc Solar for the installation of solar panels on my home, and I can't say enough good things about the entire experience, But what truly impresses me is their aftercare.

We were very satisfied with the overall experience! The whole process from the first contact with Kevin Pilcher to the team that came to install the array on our garage roof to the follow up after installation was professional, friendly and efficient! Would recommend this company to anyone!

These guys did a great job. Came in under 2 other estimates I got done. Financing rate was better than the competitors. Most importantly, they did a good job on the work. Cleaned up the job site and were very clear with expectations and met them. Didn't oversell. would highly recommend!!

3rd ROC Solar has been nothing but professional. Stephen Reed does a great job, from helping to determine the correct size of the solar array for your home to making financing easy and seemless. Installation was a breeze, and the technicians really know what they are doing! Putting in solar at our home is something that we have been planning on for quite some time, but we would have done it much sooner if we knew how easy 3rd ROC was going to make it. Using the app, we are able to track our energy production daily, and can be sure that our solar panels are functioning properly. Any time we have a question, 3rd ROC is only an email or phone call away. We hope to make back our money in a handful of years, then we will be getting a return on our investment! We highly recommend 3rd ROC Solar.

I wanted to go solar for years and I had several estimates but 3rd Roc was not just the best price from the beginning Mike came out to the house and was amazing and professional. Then when it came to the permits the team again was amazing to help get everything approved. On install day that team was professional and worked hard to get everything done cleaned up and made sure to keep door closed to not let cats out. I could not be happier with my system but I am also even more impressed by the 3rd Roc Solar team. I never do these reviews just the fact that I did shows how good the team at 3rd Roc it!!

3rd ROC has done a spectacular job designing and installing a solar array for us. Kevin Pilcher has spent many hours with us outlining the benefits and clarifying any questions we have. They handled everything from getting permits to final inspections for us. They've even guided us through receiving the State and Federal tax benefits allowed. Which, by the way, are pretty good!! Construction was on-time, with a competent and helpful construction team. To top it off, we're able to watch the solar panels work on an app on our cell phone. We would highly recommend 3rd ROC!

3rd ROC Solar did a great job designing and installing our solar power system. The communications and interface with our salesperson before and after the installation were first class. The installation crew was friendly and respectful of our property and our home and were open to questions or concerns. The system is producing more than I expected for mid-March. We highly recommend this company.

Stephen was great to work with. He walked me through the process and answered all the questions I had. They took care of securing all of the permits and the work was done faster than they had originally estimated. The finished system is clean and professional looking. Since completion, Stephen has remained responsive to my inquiries, and always answers very promptly. Overall, I'm very happy with the 3rd ROC team and would recommend them for anyone looking to do a home solar installation.

I worked with Stephen when I was considering Solar installation. He is very knowledgeable, and we were able to build a system that met my needs while sitting at my kitchen table. Once I made the decision to go with the installation, the 3rd ROC team took care of all paperwork for NYSERDA, permitting, RG&E, etc. Within 6 weeks they were ready to do the installation.
The installation team, including Jason Novak, showed up right on time. They were very professional and kept everything clean. The installation was better than I hoped for, and it was completed in less that 2 days. Again, they ensured all the proper paperwork was filed with RG&E and the town. Within 2 weeks after installation, I had the new electric meter installed, and everything has been working great so far.

We had a really good experience with 3rd Roc. Jason was there to help us through the whole process in a laid back yet professional manner. We had a minor snag with the installation at one point, but both Jared and Jason were extremely patient and dedicated to make sure we were 100% satisfied by the end. I highly recommend this company to anyone considering going solar!

I wasn't able to complete my project with 3rd ROC Solar, but I learned so much. Incentives are great right now to have solar installed. Their team is EXTREMELY efficient, so much so I personally felt a little overwhelmed and rushed. They took care of assisting with financing, and wow there are many options out there! They completed paperwork for all of the NYSERDA incentives and scheduled the inspections. BRAD, was great to work with and quick to respond to inquiries. There are a bunch of solar places out there so make sure to include 3rd ROC in your options!

After further investigating into solar I realized how pressured I was by 3rd Rock. There was also some misinformation regarding the roof and the engineering plan. I worked with another company which was able to give me more definitive answers and plans prior to me putting my deposit down. I lost a portion of my deposit with 3rd Rock, but it was worth the peace I gained.

During the initial consultation, Jason our sales representative took the time to explain the benefits of solar energy and answer all of my questions. Jason worked through several designs with me to build a system to meet my energy needs and fit within my budget.

Since the installation in late January the system is performing exactly as promised.

Steve was fantastic to work with from the moment I revived his call, he made it very easy to understand what was needed from me to help him get started, when we went over the design his price was half of what competitors were charging with a phenomenal design that fit my house and needs perfectly, He designed to put all of my panels on the back side of the house, it looks fantastic and Steve and his team handled everything with permitting and the energy company to make the process as simple as possible. If you're considering solar give them a call!

We initially loved 3rd Roc. We loved the guy who designed our system and it was installed quickly. However, we came to realize through a lot of back and forth between 3rd Roc and RGE that our system was completely lacking for what our usage is/has been. Our usage has not really changed at all and our system we have found out was 2K short of what it should be. In numerous discussions with 3rd Roc, they seemed willing to make it right, but then their version of make it right was to buy us off with a check that reimbursed us for our electricity cost that we paid that we shouldn't have if we had a system that met our needs. In addition, their version of make it right was to give us "at cost" panels to increase our system, which would add another $10,000 out of our pocket when our initial system was only $20,000ish to begin with. In presenting us with a check to reimburse us, we were told that they'd be in touch if they could figure out another solution...that was months ago and no contact.

We had another company come out to give us an estimate on additional panels that would make our system to what we need it to be. They promptly asked us why our system was so old? We only had it installed 2 years ago. They also quoted us at $3,000 less to add on panels than 3rd Roc supposedly did when they were going to give us panels at "their cost."

Now I have questions regarding the validity of what they tell us. Bottom line, they desgined us a system that was 2K less than what we needed yet told us it would meet our needs and then some. All the people have been personable and nice, but the fact still stands that we have a system that does not meet our needs, that is apparently outdated, and we now have to figure out how to come up with an additional $10,000 or so in order to even have a system that functions as it should.

I wanted to highly recommend them, but after getting another estimate from another company and learning that our system is truly not what we need nor is it up to date and not hearing back from the company with anything else they could possibly do to help us, I am just bitter.

Just want to give kudos to the engineering and install team at 3Roc for the brilliant way of interfacing their proposed AP Systems install with my 12 year old existing system. This helped reduce redundant equipment and install. I recommend checking these guys out before you make any decision. They are defiantly a down to earth solar install company...

I caution anyone looking into a solar project with 3rd Roc. We had a smooth consultation for a solar install at our home with a battery backup. However when it came time to install things went downhill quickly. There were multiple install delays due to broken or incorrectly ordered items. We were not initially told about any of the problems, until the project fell substantially behind schedule.

After about 6 weeks of people coming and going from our home, and 2 failed inspections they deemed the project complete. However it seems the system is incapable of providing what we were sold, a seamless transition to battery backup is power goes out. We were told that we wouldn’t even notice when power went out. After 2 outages where the battery never engaged, we were told it would take minutes to turn on. They are blaming the manufacturer of the battery, and not taking ownership of any of the problems. No one will commit to put anything in writing and they are slow/unresponsive.

We are preparing to take them to arbitration as what we were sold was not delivered.

I don't usually leave many business reviews, but 3rd ROC did well by me and thought I'd share. I was very skeptical of solar in general, so I asked way too many questions, but they took the time to thoroughly answer them all.

Once we signed the agreement, 3rd ROC took care of the rest. The process was smooth and a lot easier than I expected.

The installation team was great too; professional, quick, and responsive.

My array has been active for 2 months now, and so far so good with production.
