My family's been going here for generations but it's not the same. Santa used to have a beautiful room all decorated There was like a forest of trees. Everything just looked like Christmas. It has a much colder feeling these days it's rather disappointing. No more reindeer either.

Last night I was super excited for the arrival of my new tree I purchased from another store given I purchased it on sale and don’t plan on using it until next year I opened the box to check it out, thank goodness I did b/c it was just a very tall Charlie Brown tree! Then I remembered I always loved how lush the trees were at Hicks, certain they would all be gone by now since I recall they were always gorgeous but out of price range for me I thought why not see… and to my surprise NANCY in the tree area was super helpful with my questions and I was lucky enough to not only find a tree that looks super lush, has better lights then the disappointment I returned to the other store but I’m genuinely excited to decorate it….. how many more days until Christmas? To boot because I was so excited about the trees I took a look at their other items and ended up getting a super cute ornament for my dog and KELLY did a wonderful job personalizing it. What’s the moral of the story don’t waste your time with trees from other stores just start with the kings & queens of Christmas and go to Hicks! Thank you to Nancy and Kelly and to the entire team for giving our family and friends many years of great Otto memories when my daughter was younger and now future memories with the most beautiful tree I’ve ever owned to date!

This place is amazing! I love the flower show/display in the spring and try to make it every year. This year was not as extravagant as previous year but they may be struggling to find employees as most other businesses. The staff I did ask for help, were super nice and gave me great tips on taking care of my plants. A bit pricey but good quality that u can't find at home depot

Unbelievable!!! Flower and Garden show is amazing. This is the first time I visited the place and very surprised to see those beautiful flowers and how they arranged it. Parking and entrance to the show is free. You can see this beautiful show till 23rd March 2023. Don’t forget to visit the show to capture beautiful photos.

So many beautiful flowers, plants, decoration, furnishings for yard. It was endless the amount of merchandise. Large display of a tea pot, the house balloon, upside down umbrellas. It was real beautiful.

Love it here. Obviously very crowded on Mother’s Day weekend. Knowledgeable staff, helpful too, quality indoor and outdoor garden equipment, but very expensive. Very. For rich people and professionals unless you chip in on something for grandma with your siblings

A monstera I bought her for my mom like 4 years ago now has a dozen clippings living and thriving in my apartment, so yes, good quality stuff.

Visited the nursery in mid-March on weekend at the time flower and garden show. Displays are very impressive, definitely a destination to go on its own. Used this opportunity to buy few items as well. Very well-organized business, quickly moving lines despite throngs of customers.

This place is phenomenal. Incredible plants, pots, outdoor decor, outdoor furnishings and more. In Spring, they host an amazing garden show. It is well worth a trip to Old Westbury to visit this nursery.

My husband and I were thrilled with our experience with Hicks Nurseries, beginning with my first conversation with Lois, when I called to inquire about Landscaping work.
Lous connected me with Ken, Senior Landscape Designer. Ken was courteous, professional and patient (he ever so kindly dealt with my numerous phone calls and e-mails, repeat visits to my house, and much indecision). Ken was able, and took the time, to tweak the landscaping design in order to fit our budget,
Ken’s Horticultural expertise, and artistic brilliance with planning and creating a Landscaping design, provided me with full confidence that Hicks would completely fulfill the vision that I had for my Backyard Oasis!
Alex was the on-site Landscaping Manager.
Alex and his crew were phenomenal- they were respectful, professional, and hard working. Alex was eager to satisfy us, and to make sure we were happy with the work that was done. My husband and I were more than satisfied with the completed landscaping job, thanks to Alex and his crew!
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about my and my husband’s experience with Hicks.
Ken played a significant role in making my dream come true- he did everything necessary to help create a beautiful Landscaping job for my Backyard Oasis- my Sanctuary, my Happy Place!

I came here today to see Santa with my goddaughter. My Friend bought his dog and we had a nice time going in looking around one of the employees came over with really nice asked to pet the dog. Then this other employee Woman came over and started a big problem that the dogs hade to be in a carriage door cannot be walking around. My Friend says I see other dogs walking around and you haven’t sent anything to them. He said Ill called up Hicks before we came here. They said dogs are more than welcome to come never said anything about them being in a wagon after she told us that she walked over to a four of her employees looked at us and pointed at us. We had a wagon full of merchandise about $200. My friend said we’re not giving this place a freaking dime he said he’s gonna buy it off Amazon
we’re gonna take a picture with Santa and leave the disrespect that employee did towards us it’s very upset on it supposed to be a beautiful day then throughout the day I seen other dogs not in the carriage, but no one else said anything to anybody. Our dog was nice and friendly. A lot of people came over to pet him some of the other employees at the same thing, but that one, Karen, I don’t know who her name was started a whole big problem cause she think she has a little bit of power I will not be returning to this nursery ever again it was not right and disrespectful during the holiday season. My review pertains to the highest quality lavender plants I’ve ever seen here in New York being sold by Hicks nurseries here in Nassau County Long Island on August 8, 2024.

Just to put you in perspective no nursery in New York is on lavender anymore so good luck and second thing is if you do find lavender being sold, it’s not the quality that you’re getting from Hicks nurseries.

These lavender plants were very impressive to me because of the strength of the plant and rigid stem structure at such a young age.

Now, I am comparing this with mainly the Home Depot Bonnie plants that they sell and I will definitely say with absolute certainty that the best Home Depot lavender plant doesn’t even come close to this lavender plant that is so that Hicks nurseries.

The great thing was that it was 50% off so $9.99. I paid for the super high-quality lavender plants. The importance of having high-quality lavender plants is significantly important when taking into consideration the importance of a strong initial adolescent root system to the future growth.

These strong lavender plants will be able to with their excellent health and condition spread rapidly and fill-in spaces much quicker and in a much thicker filling in of spaces then other plants seen on the market comparatively.

These plants are the best lavender plants I’ve seen yet.

It’s a large well maintained nursery with a great selection of indoor and outdoor plants, flowers pots, gardening tools, supplies, outdoor furniture, lights, mini fountains, garden figurines (cats and dragons were my favorite), decorations for all occasions, and what not. They have all kinds of creative themed displays: pets, kids, spring specials, Easter (current), 4th of July, Long Island, etc. They offer reward points with every purchase. I came in hoping to get some landscaping ideas for my kids’ backyard, but instead I got some ideas for my terrace renovation. I did not buy anything because the prices were quite high, but I enjoyed my visit very much.

Unbelievable! I am a huge plant nerd and was absolutely overwhelmed by Hicks. They have an excellent selection of gorgeous houseplants (and tons of other stuff too). The plants are all super healthy and well taken care of, prices are great and the staff is both knowledgeable and a pleasure to interact with. Three staff members worked together to diligently pack my new plants to protect them from the weather and for the drive home. I purchased about 20 plants from them today and will definitely be going back. I cannot recommend this wonderful nursery enough!

It's REALLY expensive... The flower show is nice, yeah, and the advise and everything is good, but the plants here take a huge hit to your wallet. If your wallet isnt ready, don't come here.

Wonderful experience at Hicks Nursery! Kim was very professional, knowledgeable and treated me like family. She helped me make the right decision for my needs. Kim exceeded my expectation in outstanding customer service and is a definite asset to Hicks Nursery.

The flower show at Hicks Nursery was absolutely spectacular! The vibrant displays, beautifully arranged floral designs, and stunning variety of blooms made for a truly breathtaking experience. The attention to detail and creativity in each arrangement were impressive, and the atmosphere was filled with the fresh, fragrant scents of spring. A must-visit for any flower enthusiast!

Great Christmas sales...this nursery is really big and

a great selection all year round. I am a city girl so I shop mostly for window plants, but I'm eyeing a lemon or citrus tree too. Truth be told, Christmas time is my favorite though...this place does nice things for the holidays as well... really peaceful place.

We come to visit Otto every year. Everyone is so welcoming. This year we brought my Grandaughter for the first time. My dog comes every year. The roasted corn was delicious! Thank you for a fun day!

Purchase 11 Arborvites at the end of March. Hicks installed in May. Since 8/25 I have been reaching out to Nursery Sales first via email with pics of the dead (3) arborvites. Sent an email again. Called and left message. Called again, spoke with James, supervisor. He claimed he would be sure to have Peter call me that day! That was yesterday, 9/11. No call from Peter again today!! These bushes are under warranty for 3 years!! Just wondering, after 18 days of this nonsense, maybe it’s time to show up in person tomorrow!!!
These arborvites have my yard looking absolutely horrible!!
Now it seems more of them are dying. All I could say is SHAME IN HICKS from a rewards member and loyal customer!!!

Beautiful flower show. It was very thoughtful and creatively put together. Service members on the floor and cashier were helpful and genuinely enjoyed being there. Staff on the floor had excellent tips for caring for plants. I also recommend signing up to be a member if you’re planning on gardening this spring and summer. Membership is free and it’s always nice to save a few bucks.
