Home Services reviews in Westbury, New York

Stopped over to see Santa and he was the most realistic one I've seen yet. His mannerisms and facial expressions played the part and he had a lot of patience for all the families taking photos.

Came here at the end of September looking at artificial Christmas trees. We found one we loved for $799 and said we would come back in November to buy it. We came here today with the full intention of buying the tree and it was marked for $899. I went to customer service and showed them my original photo and asked if they could honor the price I saw a few weeks ago and was told no. We walked out and they lost an $800 sale today. The woman on the floor even told us that they typically raise their prices around this time of year because more people need trees. So unfortunate.

Always new and different items for the seasons. Great plant selection of great quality stock with a good warranty. Store is spacious and clean, staff is friendly and helpful. For all of this and more, prices at top of any MFSR or higher.

This review is for their houseplant section only. I was blown away by the size of and variety of their houseplant greenhouse. I went there ”not needing a new plant” and had to hold back and left with only 5. They have a large variety of your basics (ex different varieties of pothos, ferns, dracaena etc) and also had beautiful staghorn ferns, fiddle leaf fig, monstera, succulents, you name it. I spent over an hour looking around and at the prices. They have a variety of smaller easy care plants for $5, small mini plants for $2.99, to larger plants in the hundreds. I found most prices to be fair, but with the usual price hike in the popular monstera, fiddle leaf fig and some of the more popular larger plants. One thing I noticed was that every single house plant looked very healthy, not a brown leaf in sight.
I ended up getting a large chest high bird of paradise for $49.99, a calathea for $10, a Rex for $7, Venus fly trap for $8.99, and a mini terrarium plant for $2.99.
I wish I would have explored more of the rest of the store. They did have a selection of neutral color outdoor plastic large planters. I was looking for a colorful decorative large plastic planter for my bird of paradise but didn’t find one that I loved. I did speak to a few workers, they were all nice and helpful. I will be coming back here, I’m on the hunt for a Swiss cheese monstera and hanging pitcher plant. -
Nice stop for Christmas pictures and tree gazing. Used to have live reindeer and hot chocolate; bummer that stopped.
Very clean restrooms and ice cold filtered water station, with cups. Free Santa, just really long line. Brass players, select hours. Animated toy shop to walk through.
No admission or parking fees! -
I was very disappointed with the customer service. This is my first and last visit. I have always purchased all my plants from Home Depot. This year, I decided to expand my gardening by making a trip to Hicks. The location is massive and has a lot of selection. However, all my attempts to engage the staff to assist were dismissed with “ I'm not sure try over there.” My phone was my only alternative to obtain plant information. Truly, it was a disappointing experience.

Loads of fun for the family. There is a huge selection of plants, ornament, inflatables, trees and more. Parking was easier this year. The staff was friendly, especially at the personalization desk.

A great go to Nursery. A little expensive but you get what you pay for. Sales staff extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Place is always clean and stocked. Large selection of indoor and outdoor plants and furniture and they always have holiday decor items.

Hicks is beautiful. Plants are nice . Otto the ghist displays are great for kids. They are way over priced on their products. The staff at the fall activities are not very happy. No smiles, they just hand the children their sand art container or decorations for the pumpkins. The kids really dont notice but its obvious to the adults. They seem to gotten rid of their cafe that sold pues, coffee and hotchocolate, unless they moved it and i just didnt see it. Shame because the kids would have enjoyed it on cold wet day like today. The animal petting area was gone as well. They did have Otto walking around so that was nice.

Great place to shop for plants and the coustmor services is great. They answer any questions about plants and how to take care of the plant.
The Christmas events at hicks is amazing. It is a must see if you have kids. The Santa Clause is the best. He is great with kids and takes his time. -
Don't come here, they didn't clean up or take out the trash. They started at 10 a.m. and finished at 6 pm

The Holidays are not complete without going to my favorite nursery. Hicks Nurseries has EVERYTHING you need for all your holiday indoor/outdoor decor, and plenty more. From scenic prompts, decor, animations, a festive food truck, live music, and of course SANTA, bringing the entire family for holiday photos is a must! Please plan a day on the weekend, wear your best holiday outfits and see for yourself. I guarantee that once you come here with the family, it will be your newest holiday tradition and not to mention, your designated nursery for all gardening/decor throughout the year.

Huge nursery in Nassau county, Long Island. They have special displays for every season. We came during the winter holidays after Thanksgiving and Santa was there to take photos and listen to the kids Christmas wishes. They have a small cafe where you can buy some snacks, cookies, drinks and more. The line for santa is long so its good for a snack if the kids get restless.

The place is well kept, the employees are helpful. They have a huge selection of indoor and outdoor plants. And all kinds of gardening products. The only downside is they are very expensive.

This place has it all-
Whether you need hardscape or plants - indoors or outdoors ; they’ve got something for you -
They offer a terrific spring show with design ideas- real professional and high end , yet at the same time they offer enough guidance that of you wanted to re create the garden , you could.
It’s pricey- but you get what you pay for.
The staff is very friendly and the facility is clean.
They offer holiday themed attractions for children; notedly Halloween and Christmas.
Check the place out - good store hours as well. -
I love this place and have been going for years. They have such a huge selection of all different types of flowers and greenery and theres pretty much nothing you cant find. I've grown many flowers from seed here and they also have great deals on discounted hibiscus in the summer. Check out my photos for pictures of their product in my garden.

Great service, always someone available to speak to for all my tree needs. All trees i’ve gotten have blossomed beautifully. Sure it’s pricey, but the trees are very healthy.
