This past spring we switched to organic lawn care. Our lawn was a mess of weeds, literally probably 90% weeds. We have been working with Pleasant Green Grass to improve the soil, remove the weeds, and get grass to grow, without herbicides. We have been very pleased with the progress, and also very pleased with the company. They have a clearly outlined lawn care program, they communicate very well about our plan and next steps, they come out when they say they will and answer all questions I have. They have really been great to work with. I highly recommend them!

Our yard was in really bad shape after a super hot summer. Now it looks great! Working with everyone at Pleasant Green Grass has been easy because they are kind and so helpful. They've given us so much advice that has really paid off! They're affordable and organic too, which is great! Love this company!!

Pleasant Green Grass delivered a beautiful organic Christmas tree to us this year. It was so convenient, I found it waiting on our doorstep the last week in November. It smells amazing and it's really good to know it was farmed responsibly. We also love the crew that works on our lawn and garden each week. They are friendly, courteous and take time to make sure our plants and grass are thriving. I'd highly recommend this company!!

With pets and Grand-kids playing in the yard it was great to find a lawn care service that was completely organic. I'm starting my third season with Scott and his team at Pleasant Green Grass and plan on staying with him as long as I'm in the Triangle. A couple of things that really stand out with his company is how personable he and his staff. We get landscape tips from either Scott or his office manager Judy on ways we can keep our lawns beautiful year round. Before they put anything down on your lawn we always receive an email letting us know what it is and whether or not it needs watering. Thank you Scott and team for a beautiful and safe lawn.

Pleasant Green Grass has great customer service and good results for our lawn. Scott and his team have always responded right away to any concerns or question we have had. When we moved into our new house, the previous owners didn't do organic lawn care but the lawn was beautiful. We were uncertain if we would be able to maintain that throughout the transition to organic, as we knew that it was a process of strengthening the lawn overall but would take a few seasons for this to happen. Scott has managed to not only keep our lawn looking nice, but is fixing areas that are spotty, working with us to deal with weed growth throughout, and making our lawn healthier than when we moved in. Several neighbors have commented on how nice it looks and we are happy to have Pleasant Green Grass caring for our lawn.

We've been doing business with Pleasant Green Grass for several years now.
They do a good job.
Results are also always dependent on the weather if you do not irrigate your lawn.
The e-mail communication is good between customer and company and the proprietors are friendly and affable.
If your philosophy toward lawn care is to go the organic route, I believe Pleasant Green Grass would be a good choice.
If I were to offer one suggestion, it would be for a regularly scheduled annual on-site visit between the owner and customer at the customers site.

This is a great company! Our grass has never looked better. We moved into a new home and the sod was laid on compacted clay. I knew it wasn’t doing good, so we ordered an estimate. Estimate outlined everything and why we needed it. We were put on the schedule immediately, got our lawn aerated and naturally fertilized, then some compost top dressing. It took no time at all and our grass is looking amazing! Even got compliments from neighbors. Highly recommend. We really wanted a company that prioritized organic and got a great result. We have been using the services of Pleasant Green Grass since we bought our first house 8 years ago. They have cared for our lawn, helped us build a garden box, delivered and spread mulch and organic soil for our vegetable gardens. I feel good knowing that the work they do is never adding to the pollution around us as an organic company. I can confidently let my child and our dog play in the yard without concern for chemicals on the lawn. And also have peace of mind that we are not contributing to polluting our drinking water. I highly recommend Pleasant Green Grass.

I have been doing business with Pleasant Green Grass for over 8 years now. The service is stellar. I chose Pleasant Green Grass because, for my family's health, I wanted to avoid the toxicity of the products used in traditional lawn care. Scott, the owner, has always been helpful and available to answer questions and address my yard's needs. Another service point I appreciate are the emails PGG sends to alert me of my service dates, any important related instructions and to educate me on the best ways of taking care of my lawn. Chad has also been a great help in maintaining and fixing my irrigation system on several occasions. If you are looking for a way to take care of your lawn in a less toxic way, I feel Pleasant Green Grass is an excellent choice.

I highly recommend Pleasant Green Grass. We recently moved to Chapel Hill from Florida. We have learned that lawn care is very different here. Scott has been really patient with all my questions and Charlene is always quick to reply to emails. We love that Pleasant Green Grass provides organic lawn care. Pleasant Green Grass have been taking care of our yard for several years now. They are 100% reliable and work quickly and discreetly, taking pride in their work. All staff are very knowledgeable and Judy in the office is quick to respond to emails, as is Scott, the owner. The crew that mows our yard comprises a terrific bunch of guys. Our yard is a challenge as it is in the middle of the forest but I really feel that Pleasant Green have got it looking the best it can be with organic treatments. We like that we are doing our bit to help the bees! We have used several lawn companies over the years, Pleasant Green beats them all.

Update 5/22/17: My original review is below. Now, a year later, I am even more satisfied! Our lawn looks great! They worked with me over the past year to learn more about taking care of the lawn, feeding the lawn (organic compost) and basic maintenance skills, such as how short to cut the grass. Our lawn is plush and getting better by the day. Pleasant Green is the real deal. They are great, honest and hardworking.

The team at Pleasant Green Grass is fantastic. They came out and did an initial review of my lawns (front and back) and took time to answer all my basic questions (I'm a city boy and have never had a lawn before!) They gave me clear and detailed estimates so that I could choose exactly what was right for me. We agreed on a plan and they set realistic expectations. They send informative emails before and after treatments and they stick to their schedules. Our lawn already looks much better and I am very pleased. I have 2 dogs, a baby and organic garden so their organic processes are essential to me...and the results are excellent.

We had sod installed with Pleasant Green Grass. The grass took really quickly and looks bright green and healthy. Communication was great and they were honest and trustworthy. Highly recommend!

Scott and his team did an amazing job this past fall (Oct 2016) of expanding the back yard (and installing new lawn) of our newly constructed home. The job entailed a lot of de-stumping, tilling and compost amendment to prep the area before seeding.They were even able to come out several weeks before it was scheduled, which was great. The price was fair, they did a great job and his team was very friendly. I tend to be a DIYer (for the most part) when it comes to lawn maintenance, and Scott is also very knowledgeable and generous about offering his advice so that I can make the right decisions. When I need help in the future, I'll certainly call on Scott and his team again...and will continue to recommend them to others!

These guys are always just so pleasant to work with. Communicative, thorough and professional. Wyatt and team were a pleasure to have on site. They even made the weirdest situation of my next door neighbor also installing sod on the same day work. The neighbor thinks my guys did a better job.

Highly recommend if you just want a reliable lawn care company. And we like their focus on organic solutions. Thanks guys. look forward to being a regular customer.

Wyatt and Otis were a total delight to work with! They were total professionals - hardworking and committed to making sure we ended up with great results! They clearly cared about getting it right and leaving our muddy, rocky yard looking great! They also are just really kind and pleasant people to work with! Not only that, but they tolerated our yappy dog with kindness and understanding. Can't recommend them highly enough!

Avoid at all times they lie they up charge for nothing there not good I would never hire them to do my yard

Over the course of about 18 months, they broke branches off our peach tree, killed a sapling we had planted by hitting it repeatedly with the weed whacker, killed a row of flowers (also with the weed whacker), broke a glass lawn ornament, and ran over a 50' garden hose with the riding mower.

My wife liked Mr. Wilson, so she kept paying them despite all the carelessness. When we moved, she told him the date of our last service. He ignored it, and called her for payment the first time they mowed after we moved out. When she reminded him that we didn't live there any more, he tried to pressure her into paying anyway, then hung up on her when she wouldn't give in.

AVOID!!!!! Tore up my yard and my neighbors and would not show up for weeks at a time!!!!!!!!!!

I began using Wilson Lawn Care service over a year ago. My first interactions with Mr Wilson were great. He was very pleasant and always made sure my yard looked great. However over the year the services really began to fall apart. On numerous occasions sections of my yard and my neighbors yard were destroyed by the use of their heavy duty riding lawnmower. After the first incident I brought it up to Mr Wilson and he ensured it would never happen again. Well it did. When I brought it up again he promised (again) that it would not happen again and that his guys would use a push mower in the affected areas. Instead of doing it right they just dropped me from their service without a phone call or warning.

All of this his was on top of the fact that my lawn would not get serviced at the agreed upon frequency. Mr Wilson was supposed to come out once weekly. I would have to call him numerous times to have his crew to come out to my house. He never called to explain the delay or to let me know when he would get to my property.

Overall I am very disappointed with the service and I would never recommend them to someone else.

Best tree service in Durham. They’re good about cleaning up after themselves and did a good job with a trimming and removal we needed.

I've had over 25 trees removed (because of the Emerald Ash Borer) from my property over the last 10 years. This is the first time I've used Da'Joneses and I wish I would have known about them years ago. They did an amazing job taking care of my property while removing three trees. Very respectful crew, great prices and great availability. I also had stump grinding done. I've never had a guy take the time to prep the area before beginning like he did. Not a single rock hit my house or fence and he got the stump and the roots. Super happy all around.
