We had a technician out March 9 to clean out our dryer vent duct. It's long so we had to pay extra for each foot. After he left air was still not coming out of the outside vent when we started up the dryer. We had an appliance repairman come out and he assured us the dryer was working fine and the vent was blocked up. See the first picture I included. Very clearly still clogged. We called and the repairman came back out. He was very kind, apologized and said he'd fix it. Unfortunately, as you can see with the second picture, he still didn't get everything. My husband ended up having to go under the house and do the rest himself by hand.

Mistakes happen and this repairman JUST had a baby. He had an infant just a few days old at home. I can't imagine trying to work after being up all night with a newborn. So my issue isn't with him, it's with this "company". I called for a refund and the customer service rep told me to hold, left me on the phone for about 5 minutes then said "the manager will call you Monday" then abruptly hung up. The manager never called me back and they don't answer my calls or emails anymore. I'm not even sure if this is a real company. Their address is fake. The phone number on the website is different than the number on the receipt. If you call the number on the receipt it gets dropped after a few rings every time. The business name on the receipt is different than their website. They have no care for their customers whatsoever and clearly no care for their employees if they cannot get paid parental leave.

We would take them to small claims court if we could find out what this business actually is (I assume they do this on purpose) because we paid A LOT and ended up doing it all ourselves. DO NOT do business with them!

Great experience from start to finish! Durham Heating & Air Conditioning was efficient, polite, and did a perfect job.

similar results to those above. Communication is VERY poor. We will end up being without AC for a few weeks due to lack of communication and follow through.

My home warranty plan said A1, a service provider for Cinch Home Services, would arrive at my property on Wednesday. They were a no-show and have yet to respond to at least 3 phone messages left over a 48 hour period.

FRAUD ALERT: A-1 tried to run a scam on my home warranty company and me. They were identified by my home warranty company as service provider to troubleshoot non-working upstairs a/c.

Mike from A-1 attempted to charge me for freeon replacement of the unit, stating Old Home Republic refused to cover the charge (about $700-800). As this is a covered service that has been done before, I called OHR to clarify, and headed home (was at work during initial exchange). Upon arriving home, learned the following:

1. Mike from A-1 had NOT BEEN TO MY house, much less checked the hvac unit, prior to calling me (about 7-8 calls made in 3 minute period, plus texts) to request authorization/payment for work. He was still not there when I got home.

2. Mike from A-1 never contacted OHR to request authorization on above repair. Mike lied when he said it wasn’t covered by them (it is). He also lied about diagnosing the issue as he hadn’t even seen the unit or tested it.

Amazingly enough, Mike did show-up about an hour after his scheduled time. I asked him to get off my property and filed a complaint with the warranty company. Will look into the same with BBB.

Not recommended. Not a bit.

Let me start off by saying this company did a wonderful job taking care of my a/c system. The technician was very friendly and helpful. He communicated with me through the whole process. Always able to get in touch with them if I need them!!! The prices are so affordable. I’m truly grateful they were able to fix the issue I was having with my system. I would highly recommend this company to everyone.

A-1 Heating and air conditioning is a lifesaver! I recently hired them after using two previous companies who weren’t able to fix my system. The technician was very knowledgeable and was able to find the root of the problem. Very affordable and professional. I highly recommend using this company for affordability and excellent work.
