Constraction reviews in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina

Ryan and his team are amazing, and always have your best interest in mind. The things they can do to remedy household disasters are simply mind blowing. Personally, I'd give him a call before even talking to the insurance company - because time is of the essence (especially when dealing with water damage).

Rob showed up on a beautiful Saturday morning to save the day when our kitchen line literally burst and water was everywhere! While others seemed to understand we had an emergency, Emerg-NC acted! Thanks for being our hero!

Every time Alice comes to my property she brightens up our day with her outgoing positivity and cheerful attitude. We appreciate her coming by to let us know we can always count on her at any point!

Water damage can be overwhelming. From the initial inspection to the final clean up, we could not be more pleased. Great communication, quality employees, excellent work. Everything was explained to us, they helped with the insurance company, and everyone showed up when they said they would. Highly recommend!

Water damage never happens at a convenient time. Our life was already turned upside down before a leaky toilet ruined both our bathrooms. I am definitely glad I decided to call EmergNC! From Mitigation, move out & Asbestos abatement to the total renovation of both our bathrooms, EmergNC patiently worked with our crazy schedule from start to finish. Since I suddenly needed to remodel 2 bathrooms and I had no idea where to start. EmergNC directed me to vendors nearby to pick out the fixtures, tile and cabinets. The recommended plumber advised me on every plumbing purchase. EmergNC handled all the measurements, supervised subcontractors and even helped with pickups and deliveries. I thank Tim, Susan & Josh for patiently and calmly guiding me through each challenge I encountered. Now I have two gorgeous new bathrooms thanks to EmergNC!

I cannot recommend this company more emphatically for mold remediation. The experience of finding this company was a doozy. It started with an extremely poor remediation attempt executed by another company, which I will not name here due to pending issues. My wife and I interviewed what must be an additional 5 mold remediation companies after our bad experience and let me tell you, it's the wild west out there. From having the owner of one company more or less tell me "I read a book about mold once", to companies that couldn't explain what the remediation process should look like and what standards should be met, to a company that just didn't follow up with a quote, it was pretty bleak. Rob was the first person to speak to me like someone who knew what they were talking about. He outlined the various standards that had to be met to ensure clearance testing would be passed for insurance purposes (we did not go through insurance). He was the first and only person to do so. He was able to talk to me in depth about my house and the issues it faced and formulated a plan we were comfortable with. He and his crew were extremely thorough in processing our house and, when an additional, previously unknown remediation challenge cropped up, Rob and his crew went above and beyond to make sure the issue was handled. He reached out to additional mold experts to formulate and execute a plan. I'm confident in the work done as my wife was previously having severe reactions in the house, such that I thought hospitalization was on the horizon. We've been back in the house for several months now and my wife's health is *drastically* improved. Thank you so much Rob and Team. We really appreciate it!

We have had Emerg+nc out to our house a couple times to consult us on issues we were having. Both times they showed up within 24 hours and were extremely helpful. We recently had an issue with our roof and they gave us a great referral to a local trusted vender who was able to address our issue quickly and the correct way. Thanks for your help and if any of our friends or family is in need of their services we will definitely be sending them to Emerg+nc.

We had some water damage in our main level kitchen/bathroom. We worked with a different company to mitigate the water damage and remove the damaged flooring. We called Emerg-NC to complete the restoration side of things. We had been wanting to replace all the flooring on our main level with continuous LVP, and this was the perfect opportunity to finally get that done. We had 4 different types of flooring with many transitions at different heights.
Josh Hooks did a great job working through all of the necessary repairs from the water damage and seamlessly included all of the additional work that we wanted to have done. The flooring crew (Santizo Flooring & Painting) was in and out in about 2.5 days, and they really took pride in the work they were doing. They were flexible and easily maneuvered around our house and all of the obstacles (we have 2 small kids). Josh also coordinated the necessary contractors that were required to complete some minor plumbing work, insulation work in the crawlspace, and finally painting all of the baseboard/quarter round.
Thank you, Emerg-NC! -
Big Monkey did moldings, window seats and lots of other personal touches to our new home in Fuquay Varina. You can't find someone with more attention to detail and easier to work with. Highly recommend.

I’ve used Big Monkey on several occasions for my own personal home as well as referred them to clients, always a great experience! Highly recommend!

Jared and his team are great to work with. He and I collaborated design ideas to update our fireplace this Spring.
He made extra runs just to find the exact corbel I wanted.
His team was prompt, kind, and always cleaned up at the end of the day.
I highly recommend him for your renovation or repair project. -
In all honesty I chose Big Monkey to build a pergola for us because they were the only contractor to actually respond to me and come look at what we wanted to do! That, and based on reviews.
Could not be happier with the results! In and out in two days, came back to add additional bracing, timber locks and power wash the patio area. That wasn’t part of the contract.
Would not hesitate using them for future projects. -
Jared Watson goes above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied with the work he has done for you. He even went so far as to help us out on a Sunday when we were desperate for help. He renewed our faith in the fact that good people still exist out there. I would highly recommend Jared for your renovation and Repair work!

Highly recommend these guys for your contracting needs. Great communication and customer service. Just had an estimate completed and they were very up front about the scope of the project - even if it potentially meant less money in their pocket. Very impressed by their professionalism.

I reached out to Big Monkey in urgent need of a new bathroom door and some patching needed in my bar before we opened. They came through and did outstanding work. Angel and Alex know what they are doing! Jared was the man when it came down to communicating and setting everything up for me! This will from now on will be the only company I use for repairs.

Lesson learned. Once a liar is always a liar and once a thief is always a thief.
We hired Jared Watson of Big Monkey Renovation and Repair to build a screened in porch in March. We were told we'd be staining by Christmas. We are now in February and we did not even have the permit. We bought this concern to Jared, who instead subcontracted the project to his "best friend" of 15 years (Joe Parulski, JP Custom Carpentry) to complete the job. We were told we can trust him and that Joe "knew people" at the Wake County Office and can get the permit quickly.
After 10 months of waiting, Joe showed up and were supposed to be "prepping the site" (we did not have the permit at this point) and next thing we know, he ordered all the material and started putting up the frame. We were told permit is not a concern and the construction will pass the inspections.
Since Jared was highly recommended, we did not think twice to question him and thought he put us in good hands with Joe. Prior to the job starting, we were told money can be paid at the end but Joe started asking for money every week. We wrote 2 checks to Joe to cover majority of the labor but they ended up being on hold by his bank so he was asking for cash payment, which we foolishly paid.
After majority of the work was done, the inspection failed because my shed was too close to the septic field and needed to be moved. Joe quoted us $3800 plus material to move the shed. We fired him due to various things including theft. We were able to get that shed moved for $300 after we fired Joe. We discovered that Joe had bought tools and other items on our dime that were not used on our property. We emailed Joe regarding payment for the above items, and in return we got derogatory and unprofessional emails from Joe, who only threaten to put a lien on our house. This is a tactic used by contractors to intimidate home owners.
This is a common tactic used by crooked contractors. When they order a big list of materials on your behalf, they will sneak in tools as done in this case. This is a felony in NC. It's Obtaining Property by False Pretense. Please call the police and file a report so crooked contractors can be arrested.
It's sad that even after paying close to $20K in labor cost, contractors feel the need to steal from their clients.
After we fired Joe, hoping Jared will step up and finish the job. Instead, he accused us of taking advantage of him and left us with a mess. Few months later, I ran into Jared and advised him I'll be seeking legal action against both him and Joe. Jared stated he does not want that to happen and came back to finish the job. We ended up having to pay for the material for the second time.
This was overall a 1 star experience and full of unnecessary stress as we trusted Jared and treated him like our family. I have caught him in so many lies. He over promises and under performs. He told us that after we fired Joe, he would never use him, yet he subcontracted him to multiple other people, who he took money from and never came back to finish their jobs. Now there are multiple lawsuits involved.
We ended up selling our home because of this ordeal. I was recently asked to fill out an affidavit for an attorney representing more clients of Jared Watson and Joe Parulski. These poor people are having to spend thousands of dollars in attorney fees to get their money back. It's sad that even few years later, I'm still dealing with these people.
To the hard working Americans, you work hard for your money, don't let deceitful people take advantage of you. If I did not check behind these people, I would have been ripped off for over $4000. -
I used Big Money Renovations to install a new tile shower and update a master bath, and install crown molding. Turned out beautifully. The crew was very detailed oriented and friendly; and they did a wonderful job cleaning up each day. I highly recommend the gang from Big Monkey Renovations.

It started off really good I could tell he was a smart guy definitely the smartest in any room he walks into 💯 but after a little bit he started forgetting stuff like a lot. He told me he has the long COVID from when he spent weeks on a ventilator because he is scared of getting shots which i understood he's clearly very smart so I trust it but sadly I had to look somewhere else because I don't know what else he forgets like building code or something there's a lot with that 💯 . I also have a baby in the house and my girlfriend's mom lives with us and she has the bad immune system so not sure if he would get them sick probably not I'm sure he considered that cause he is definitely smart but i can't take the risk for just this renovation.
Honestly I hope he gets better soon I had the COVID twice but wasn't that bad cause I got the shot but really I'm not as smart as him maybe! 💯 -
Jared’s team flipped out kitchen that hadn’t been touched since 1985. Hands down best service we have had with any contractor as we work on remodeling our home. Great communication, amazing work, and absolutely recommend. Jared’s team are second to none, show up, work hard, are positive, problem solvers and genuine. We hope yo have them back for all of our home projects! 10/10 all day.

Jared is the best in town, his crew that came and did the work were the best around. His A-Team (Alex, Angel & Abelardo) along with Jason. They showed up early and were so respectful throughout the entire process. My husband is stuck working from home because of the pandemic and he said he barely noticed them. The crew was mindful of my husband and everything was done within the time frame they promised. We got a new patio door installed and of course some of the wall needed to be fixed as well. Let me tell you not one single piece of garbage was left you couldn't even tell they deconstructed the entire wall and put it back together. We plan on using them again in the near future for other home renovations.

Work and service was impressive. He did the initial tile work replacement in the bathroom in 2018 and the water leakage re-occurred after 5 yrs. Big Monkey honored the warranty and did replacement services with no cost. Highly recommend their service and thank you for accommodating us within short notice of time.
