I am so impressed by Highlander Tree Services professional work, equipment "the spider," outcome, and all of the tree services. They were also prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, , followed up with me in a timely manner, cleaned up the work area very neatly, and their tree services were simply outstanding. This is without a doubt the best tree service I've used ever. I've lived many places in several states and they are the best. I just had them back out a second time a couple days ago to take down 3 more trees. They are on time , work hard and work safely and are very careful not to damage surrounding things. Very professional men and polite, no hollering and cursing like I had with my last tree service. Who needs that in their yard? They did exactly what we agreed on and best of all..cleaned up the debris and mess left after the trees were taking down. My yard looks good. They were careful not to drive over my septic tank or drain field area and came to me with any questions they had before proceeding. They have a great piece of equipment that can carefully creep between things that bucket trucks can't reach and it leaves no deep ruts in the yard, which is a big plus. Unlike any other trees service I have paid in the past, these guys picked up their drink bottle and cans and threw them in the trash can where they belonged instead of leaving them scattered on my lawn . I will be calling them back again soon to take down some more trees hanging near my house. I'm thankful having tree work done isn't stressful anymore.

Highlander Tree service was very professional, quick, and easy to communicate with. The day we called for an estimate, they came out within 30 minutes. He communicated well with rescheduling (it was a very rainy week so weather was the only issue). The day they came out, they were beyond quick, professional, and easy to work with. We had to have them remove limbs from power lines and trees against our neighbors fence and they successfully prevented any damage to any property.

Kevin and his crew did an awesome job. He was able to come and give an estimate the same day I called. He gave us a great price on getting two big trees removed and a lot of other limbing. They started right away and got the job done fast! Thank you, so much. I would highly recommend Highlander tree service.

We had plans to get two large trees that were leaning towards our house cut down but all the arborists in the area were either booked so far out or gave extremely expensive estimates. We eventually chose a company that couldn’t come service us till 4-5 weeks later. When we heard the news that hurricane helene was coming, we made more calls and we are so thankful we called High Lander Tree Service! Kevin was amazing. He came out, gave us a very reasonable quote, and was at our house in two days! Kevin and his team got everything cut down and cleaned the day before the hurricane got here. Great service at an extremely fair price! This is our third time using their service and we couldn't be more satisfied with their work. They were on time, did a great job with our trees and cleaned up after they were done.
Also, it's always good to support a small business and their success with the American Dream!

Great experience with removal of a dead hardwood. Kevin came out same day I called and provided a very competitive estimate. He was friendly, responsive and punctual. They did the work thoroughly and cleaned up well. Will certainly call him again if we have another need.

We had 5 trees (four 60-70 foot pine, and an Oak that was also as tall) cut in our yard and got a lot debris cleared (May 31, 2024). They did an excellent job. They arrived on time and did more than what was expected of them.

They had an Arbor Pro that could reach almost 100 feet. They used that and a Bobcat to clear the debris very efficiently. We had other groups cut trees in our yard too. However, no one was as thorough as them.

While they were working, a neighbor wanted a pine tree (that was leaning from our yard to theirs) cut. It took considerable time and effort to do. The guys did it without a complaint even though it wasn't something that they originally agreee to do.

It is rare to find a service company that works as efficiently and thoroughly as them. Their prices are also reasonable. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Update from August 23, 2024.

We hired the company again to get a tree that reached over 120 feet (Tulip poplar with 3 large trunks) cut (see video). They made it look easy because of their experience. The tree was about 25 feet from the house and required a very precise cut. I highly recommend them.

Perry's guys came to cut down some limbs for us. When I called Perry the next morning to tell him I felt like they cut back more than we had discussed, he just starting ranting. He would not even let me say a word, only kept defending himself. He basically said I didn't say what I said as far as how many limbs I wanted trimmed back. Perry should've taken some time to listen to his customer instead of defending himself and his son, who did some of the work. I told him I would pay but I would not be using his services anymore, and he said "that's fine". I said that's the way you treat your customers?? He just kept saying he's been in this business for a long time. My opinion, it may be time for him to move on.

Very Professional and courteous crew. They got it done and got it done fast. Had some smaller trees to take down and they did short work of it. They bring a wood chipper machine out so put in your ear plugs.

My experience with James Hunt, this is a dishonest business that I provided a service for and payment was not rendered. James dodged phone calls and lied about paying my salary for only 2 days of work. On three separate occasions, I went to his home at 2900 Ormond Dr. in Winston-Salem, as he requested to meet for payment and James Hunt did not show up, and ignored calls. His wife/girlfriend stated that she would not pay me and did not appreciate my presence as James had requested. If you need tree work done, do not use this business. He will expect payment in advance and leave the job incomplete. Smooth talker with ulterior motives. Not a man of his word.
