Bad service. I called them come out for weed and crabgrass retreatment. They schedule then did not come and canceled for no reason. I called to reschedule and they schedule for the next day. Then they didn’t show up and canceled again without any reason. I call customer service again. No problem solve. Try to speak to supervisor she don’t let me to. I would never use Trugreen again.

Greetings - see images of my lawn. No urgency to come to my property to look at the lawn. Specialist didn’t show up and didn’t call. Supposed to come tomorrow. I raised these issues end of July (view your phone records). Browning grass and virginia buttonweed. My lawn is ruined. Currently serviced by trugreen. I had to bring another company in to tell me what’s wrong…Army worms. Showed me proof and moths all over.

Regardless, I will be canceling my service with Trugreen and expect refund and lawn to be reseeded at no charge. Look at photo shows lawn with trugreen (brown) and lawn without (green). Thinking company should change name to TruBrown. Would definitely not recommend to anyone. Just look at photos. Amazingly bad.

Jaquan Chambers and Jacques Black did a fabulous job with the aeration and seeding. Very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. My neighbor saw their work and came over to ask questions about using TruGreen.

I have used TruGreen for 2 years for lawn maintenance. They keep up with my regular lawn fertilizing and aerating/overseed. Jeremiah M is fantastic! We discuss the little things I can do to enhance the result of his services. He understands my mission to have a thick, dark green yard that my neighbors envy. Thanks Jeremiah!

My parents have been with TruGreen for years only for us to come home from vacation this summer to find our grass DEAD. Our neighbors used TruGreen as well and you can see in the middle picture their grass is dead as well. You can also see at the end the other neighbors have green grass split right down the middle of our dead grass…

WILL BE CHANGING COMPANIES. Our neighbors already have changed.

I showed proof to the BIG heads that there was hardly any work being actually done when these people showed up at the house. Pushing an almost empty spreader on your grass doesn't do anything for the grass. If I were you, I would ask them to show you how much material they are putting down. There is a automatic reply that is generated and will tell you to contact them via email. Even that email doesn't work. I like the photoshoped pictures of the super green grass. They promised to come and take soil samples for free and overpromised to personally make sure our lawn will be in tip top shape if we were willing to give them 1% of our trust. Anyway. Good luck

I’m extremely disappointed with TruGreen. Their treatment completely damaged several spots of my front yard grass after spraying to kill weeds. Instead of controlling the weeds, the product killed large areas of healthy grass.

I reported the issue multiple times and even had their technician come out — but all he did was apologize and leave. Despite many calls and texts with their manager and customer service, no one offered any real solution. They refused to repair the damage or issue a refund, and eventually just canceled my service.

It’s been over three weeks with no resolution. I now have to wait until spring to fix the damage myself at my own cost — or consider taking the issue to small claims court. TruGreen should be held responsible for their mistakes, but they clearly don’t stand behind their work.

I paid TruGreen to do two things:
    1. Keep my grass green
    2. Kill the weeds in my yard
They almost did the job. All of my grass is dead and my weeds are flourishing. The technician sprayed something that killed both my yard and parts of my neighbor's yard. They have not been able to kill any of the weeds in my yard or my neighbor's, even after they accidently nuked my yard. I've noticed more weeds after using them. I had some other experts look at my yard, it will take 2-3 seasons to get my yard back to where it was. This was the first year I used TruGreen, and they have already all this damage to my yard. Negative experiences all around. If you value a good looking yard, look elsewhere.

Tru Green destroyed my grass in June 2025, then had the audacity to offer aeration and seeding, $500 to go towards. Despite spending over $1500 on rolls of hay, they refused to match our receipt. I have only received one aeration so far, and the seeding has done nothing to improve my yard. The back on the hill has no grass and is just a muddy mess and the front has patches of grass. I strongly advise against using Tru Green for anyone looking to achieve a perfect lawn. Our experience with their service has been extremely disappointing.

Dylan did a great job for us bringing in topsoil to replace the soil that had washed away from our backyard over 30+ years, then regrading, spreading new seed and fertilizer and straw. He he had to do much of it by hand, too. He did it on, on budget and with a smile…Exactly the kind of man you want working for you - Thank you Dylan!

Fast, professional, and fair pricing. The sod installation turned out better than I expected. Yard looks brand new!

Jarrell did a great job, great communicator
    That folks was last year!!!!!
I have called in for management to reach out to me for the reasons I will post pics. No one has and it has been months. They have called me but only to see if we are satisfied and we are not, no management call! I have called three times now!!! Last year we had beautiful lawn, but they have not followed up to make it stay beautiful. I should add if I had read all the reviews I would not have used them. The reviews are the same issues that we are having. Owners beware

A Disappointing Experience with TruGreen's Indian Trail Branch

My wife and I purchased our home in September 2023, a place where we plan to raise our family. The previous owner had meticulously cared for the lawn, leaving us with a lush, green fescue carpet. They had used a premium lawn care service that did excellent work, but it was quite expensive—an expense we weren’t prepared to carry after just moving.
When TruGreen reached out with a quote, their pricing was nearly half of the incumbent provider’s, promising the same level of service. Being inexperienced in high-grade lawn care beyond basic mowing and trimming, and eager to save money, we decided to go with TruGreen. They assured us that all we needed to do was water, mow, and trim—they would handle the rest.
The previous provider finished out 2023, and TruGreen began servicing our lawn in March 2024. Over the next six months, our once-beautiful lawn transformed into a wasteland of weeds and brown patches.

    Initial Concerns Ignored

In late May, I noticed browning and weed accumulation and began calling TruGreen’s customer service. Their representatives were polite and eager to "make it right," offering free services under the "TruGreen Guarantee." However, there seemed to be a disconnect between the support center and the local branch. It took several follow-ups for the promised service to finally occur in early June.
When I attempted to speak with the technicians during their visits, they were unable to provide detailed insights or strategies for improving the lawn. Busy with family activities over the summer, I trusted TruGreen to address the issues during their monthly visits—a mistake, as the lawn’s condition continued to deteriorate.

    Poor Communication and Delayed Action

By late August, large dead spots and excessive weed growth covered the lawn. After multiple complaints, I finally connected with the service manager, Farentino, who sent their sales rep, Ben, instead of meeting with me personally. Ben acknowledged the poor service, noting that technicians likely hadn’t applied treatments thoroughly. He offered a complimentary army worm treatment and promised to oversee improvements.
While I appreciated his efforts, I couldn’t understand why it took months of complaints to address these issues. Despite Ben’s assurances and the free treatment, I never heard from him again after this visit, even after repeated calls and texts.

    Aeration Disaster

In October, after further follow-ups, TruGreen performed an aeration service while I was at work. When I returned home, the results were shocking. The technician had driven the aerator in random patterns, leaving many areas untouched and others with large, frisbee-sized holes. It was clear that no care had been taken during the service.
I photographed the damage and shared it with Farentino, who offered to send the technician back. By this point, my wife and I had completely lost trust in TruGreen and declined the offer. I requested a full refund for the aeration, as I would need to hire another provider to redo the service and fix the damage.
Farentino explained that he couldn’t issue refunds and said I needed to speak with the general manager, Stephen Robertson. Despite multiple requests through customer support and direct follow-ups, the GM never called me back. After a couple of weeks, I received a partial credit offer through an administrative staff member who apologized for the GM’s lack of response. Feeling there was no point in waiting for further resolution, I accepted the partial refund and terminated all services with TruGreen.

    Final Thoughts

It has now been a month, and I still haven’t heard from Stephen Robertson. TruGreen’s failure to deliver on their promises, their poor communication, and their lack of accountability have been deeply disappointing. What began as an exciting opportunity to maintain a beautiful lawn turned into a costly and frustrating experience. I would not recommend TruGreen, particularly the Indian Trail branch, to anyone seeking reliable lawn care.

Awful experience. Also it's very evident that they pay for good reviews. You'll notice a lot of them are edited every so often to keep the 5 star reviews up front. To start, my dad had used TruGreen for many years and recommended them, but we both ended up canceling today. I started with them the beginning of this year. The first visit they came by and sprayed pre emergent on the lawn to prevent any crabgrass. They were here for 5 minutes, but I didn't know what to expect. They came by every month since to spray the weeds, but I was noticing a lot of weeds still, maybe even more than last year. After about the 4th or 5th time they came out, I ended up calling customer service to have them come out again to take care of the weeds. They came out for free, but said they wouldn't be spraying anything because it won't work on the crabgrass this time of year. Okay, I get and understand that, but I had lots of other types of weeds growing. Well apparently they took pictures and the manager was supposed to call me but never did. Then I complained again and someone came out and sprayed the weeds. It helped a little bit so I continued with them. This past visit, they came out, took one swipe with the fertilizer and didn't spray any weeds like they said they were going to. Called and complained and they said they would have someone come out, but they never did. Also noticed everytime I had something scheduled, it would get canceled and I would have to book an appointment again. Finally canceled today. I prepaid and asked if I would be receiving a refund and they said no. I asked to speak to a manager and the associate was looking at some random account and I would be receiving my refund. Smh. This company is a disaster and I'll never be using them again. Also, thanks for coming out to do more work after I already canceled a week prior! Lol smh

Dude is super unprofessional and if anything gets broke don’t expect him to pay to fix it doubt this guy even has insurance. Steer clear of this business at all cost.

I got my drone stuck about 50ft up in an oak tree in my yard. He came out the same day while it was raining heavily, climbed the tree and lowered the drone down without causing anymore damage. Thank you!

Excellent service! The pricing was great and they were very accommodating. Easy to work with and I would recommend JR's Tree Services to everyone.

My neighbor used JR tree service to cut down a tree. The limb fell on my property and destroyed my wrought iron gazebo that he never payed for!! Terrible, unprofessional and irresponsible!!
