Reviews of local pros in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina

We called OBX Tree Doc with concerns about a dead tree on our property, and Ernst was able to come out that same day and remove it for us. He was very knowledgeable and controlled the descent to prevent it from falling onto adjacent structures. We are so relieved to not have to worry constantly about that tree falling on our house (or a neighbor’s house!) OBX Tree Doc is very good at what they do - we cannot recommend them enough!

Katie and Ernst were quick to respond to my initial contact and schedule an appointment to walk the property and decide what needed to be done. Ernst and crew showed up on the scheduled date and time, took care of all my tree needs, chipped all the debris and made sure I was happy with the work. I would recommend them over any other tree service as they were so professional! I will be referring them to all my clients and friends.

Exceptional work, professionalism and value! The OBX Tree Doc will be my only stop next time we need tree work here in Southern Shores. My only regret is that I wasted so much time hassling with the others before I found them. Thank you!

I can't recommend OBX Tree Doctor enough. Ernst was prompt and knowlegable. He and his team did a great job trimming and removing trees on our property. They were careful and professional. I'm grateful they did such a great job!

Let me save you some time on your search for finding a tree contractor. Call OBX Tree Doc! Ernst, Katie and their team of professionals exemplify everything you want in working with a contractor. They provided a competitive bid promptly, had infallible communication throughout the entire process, and went above an beyond giving advice on caring for trees we wanted to keep while working expeditiously on the trees we wanted to remove. Their crew was amazing and left a clean worksite when they left.

This is the 2nd time I used Ernst to cut trees down and once again I am very pleased with the work and the service! The entire crew (climbers!) are very professional and nice to work with. I had large trees taken down this time and they did a great job of cleaning up my grass next to where they had to drop the trees! I appreciate the great service and have referred them to friends who have also been pleased!

We had a very old, very large pecan tree in our backyard that i thought was ready to go. OBX Tree Doc responded promptly to my request for an evaluation. Ernst checked the tree carefully along with another old pecan in our yard. He confirmed my "guess" on the first tree and gave the other tree a positive diagnosis. He quickly sent a proposal and timetable. On the appointed day he and his crew arrived on time and took the tree down that day. Everything went as planned and the crew did a great job cleaning up thoroughly after hours of hard work. We would certainly use OBX Tree Doc again and would recommend them to anyone needing tree and shrub work.

Excellent tree work! Careful, selective trimming left trees looking natural, not hacked. Neat clean-up and removal. Very pleased.

Ernst & crew showed up in time and were extremely professional. They did everything they said they’d do and cleaned up afterwards.

OBX Tree Doc did a great job cutting one tree and trimming a few others. Excellent communication, fast, thorough and neat.
Thanks

We had OBX Tree Doc come out to Manteo and take down two of our trees. Ernst and his team were very respectful of our property and our landscaping. They were knowledgeable, worked quickly and efficiently, and left virtually no trace. Highly recommended!

These guys were awesome! They took down several trees for us, including a huge 50-year-old pine tree, and made it look easy. Super friendly, worked fast, and cleaned everything up afterward. I’m really impressed with how smooth the whole process was. Definitely recommend them if you need tree work done!

Great to work with. They were flexible with us and came back again after I noticed something I wanted done a little differently.

Tree Doc removed a large pine tree at my home. Excellent service and clean up I would highly recommend.

I would highly recommend OBX Tree Doc! I received an estimate within 24 hours of my 1st call, the price was reasonable and the work was completed professionally within 2 weeks of my approval. Ernst and Katie communicated throughout the process on scheduling and they showed up on time as promised. I'll definitely use OBX Tree Doc for any tree removal needs in the future.

I just employed this company to cut a very crooked little be oak and grind the stump.. They did a great job and was finished in about 2 hours. The area now looks completely smooth..
Very fine job and very pleasant workers.

Ernst and his crew were professional, efficient, and the results were fantastic. Will definitely have them back in the future. Thank you!!

I'll add to the well-deserved accolades...OBX Tree Doc is *the absolute best*!! I knew my beloved live oaks were in good hands after meeting with Ernst prior to the work being done. He clearly cares about these beautiful trees and had tremendous expertise. I needed extensive trimming plus he told me about a treatment that can help the trees grow denser, not longer, branches. I had no doubt this was a valuable service, not just an "upsell" so we chose a few trees to receive this treatment since it was a bit of an investment. I arrived at the house yesterday after the work had been done and was blown away by how great the trees look. They were very detail-oriented and did a great clean up afterwards. I could not be happier and join the other reviewers in giving my highest recommendation.

Ernst, Katie and their tree team did an excellent job in removing and trimming several trees on our property. They provided knowledgeable advice on trees that should be removed for safety as well as a few that we wanted to keep and trimmed them safely. Because several trees were only accessible through our neighbors property, they were extremely careful to ensure caution was taken when accessing the trees. From 1st call to set up quote through finished job, communication was prompt, clear, and knowledgeable. Thanks for a great job!
