Recently, we contacted Mike's Stump Grinding & Tree Service in Pittsboro to remove several dead or dying trees that were a potential risk to our house. Mike & his business partner, Oscar, came out that afternoon to look over the trees, give us an estimate and schedule the job. Within 2 weeks, they had their crew here to begin removing the trees. They arrived right on time and worked almost non-stop the entire day to take down the threatening trees we had discussed and 2 additional trees we added to the list that day.

The size and proximity of the trees to our house trees made this not only a challenging cutting job, but also a tricky task in the removal of the debris. By the mid-afternoon the trees were all safely down and most of the debris was gone. Oscar returned the next morning to finish removing the larger logs and trunks. In the end, the yard was left clean with virtually no trace of the removed trees and branches.

I have nothing but high praise for these folks. Not only were they on time and on budget, but it was genuinely fascinating to witness the level of skill, care and precision with which they all worked. All with an eye toward the safety of the crew and our property.

I cannot say enough good things about Mike (and Oscar) from Mike’s Stump Grinding and Tree Service. When a tree fell and completely blocked my driveway one evening, I called around and couldn’t find anyone willing to help. When I reached Mike, he assured me he would be there bright and early to take care of it and he absolutely kept his word.

Mike arrived early the next morning at 7:15 a.m. in 14° degree weather and got right to work. He handled the situation efficiently and professionally, turning a super stressful problem into a huge relief.

At the same time, I had a very tall cedar tree that had begun leaning dangerously. Because it was positioned directly over my septic tank, it was a delicate and concerning situation. After confirming everything was safe, I called Mike again. He came back promptly, gave me an extremely fair price, and he and Oscar walked me through the process with such knowledge and confidence that all of my worries disappeared.

Their professionalism, expertise, reliability, and genuine care truly set them apart from all others. I’m incredibly grateful our paths crossed, and I now know exactly who my go-to tree service will be moving forward.
