Nick and his partner did an amazing job creating a dry well in a low spot in our yard. I was very impressed with both his knowledge of this area and water tables, as well as the neatness and efficiency of their work. These guys are a great company that I highly recommend.

Nick and his team did an awesome job! We had a flagstone firepit and some small patio areas installed. He was very responsive, great customer service, professional and went above and beyond to make sure we love our finished product!

Nick is so knowledgeable. I really appreciate that he listened to our concerns and ideas about our backyard and in turn, gave great advice. Nick and his crew did an excellent job recovering my yard after hurricane florence. Several trees uprooted during the storm leaving massive holes and damaging my landscaping. Nick brought in loads of topsoil and mulch to repair the damaged areas. He did such a good job that I hired him for other landscaping work including my periodic routine yard maintenance (mowing, edging, raking, etc). He is easy to work with and very dependable.

TLDR: hire NOAT for your project. I would use them again in a heartbeat and I was always impressed by their professionalism and kindness.

My saga: To avoid a turbulent housing market in search for a new home with a playable backyard for our two young children, we turned our sights to building the backyard of our dreams in our current home, which had an extremely sloped yard. Thankfully I found NOAT after 3 failed consultations with other builders.

Nick (the owner) & his team built an 8 foot tall retaining wall that measures around 85 x 30 feet, a smaller retaining wall under our deck, then installed a variety of drainage solutions, sod, two patios, planted garden beds, planted trees around the exterior of the wall and planted shrubs behind the wall to secure the clay against future erosion.

Braden (the quoter & scheduler) came to our house for a consultation and quote, and came back a couple more times at our request to answer questions and rethink some of our design ideas. He was professional and extremely helpful in offering creative ways to build what we wanted. Our project was pretty large, so I had a lot of questions about, well, everything. Nick walked us through the whole process. Once they broke ground, we were kept in the loop (at our request) and I honestly enjoyed the building process. My young children loved watching the "tractors," and now we are all in love with this incredible space NOAT built for us. Before they left we did a final walkthrough together and the next day Nick emailed me a "sod care calendar" so we know exactly how to take care of this beautiful space. We have the "new home" of our dreams without having to move! 5 stars for sure.

Nick and team went above and beyond. They were proactive, attentive to detail/design, and flexible with us when it came to unforeseen factors. We’re very happy with our raised patio and front walkway/entrance.

I was very impressed with Nick of All Trades! Our area has had tons of rain, so Nick had a very short window to complete his work. He had excellent communication throughout the project, showed up on time and his work looked great when he finished! Our HOA required our mailboxes to be painted and new numbers applied. Our box needed two replacement parts because of prior damage. He found one part at local supply store and picked it up for me and sent me a link to order the other part. From start to finish, Nick was a professional. Nick of All Trades's workmanship was far superior to the other companies working in our area.

I am so impressed with Nick's work and ability to handle a large-scale installation. He did a fabulous job for a family on River Road who had hired me to provide visuals to envision the work. Nick was reliable, easy to speak with, professional and did a fantastic job! I hope to work with him again in the future. Great job!

Nick did a great job painting our mailbox. It was done according to the specifications of our HOA. It was timely and very professional. Nick's strongest business acumen is his communication skills. He gave exact dates, prompt cancellation when weather was prohibitive and continued to put out updates. He came exactly when he said he would. We never had to wonder if or when the job would be done. That in itself is worth his competitive price.

Nick of all trades was worth the experience! They were on time and did as they said! Nick let me know that it would be a 2 day job and he was in and out in 2 days! He walked us through what he was doing and how it all worked after he was done! Didnt use fancy equipment just some hard work and elbow grease along with his crew and still got the job done very efficiently! An exceptionally hard working, competent and knowledgeable professional, Nick earned my highest respect and recommendation. I am an active duty military member who was transferred to Wilmington this summer. After moving into my home, I noticed water was entering the garage every time it rained. To remedy the problem and stop the water intrusion, I hired Nick and his crew to install French drains. Nick brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the project, competently installing the drains and PVC piping to divert water away from the house.

As impressive as that was, what impressed me more was Nick's responsiveness and commitment to the job. The first rainy day after the French drains were installed, water again entered the garage. In response, Nick came back to the house within a few days, correctly diagnosed the area of ingress and installed additional piping, eviscerating the problem. He stayed with the project until the problem was solved, all the while communicating openly and transparently. Such integrity is rare and people of Nick's character are hard to find. Nick and his team were able to help us with a last minute request right before the holidays to help install more than a dozen 8ft. tall trees on our property. They did an absolutely terrific job.

I can't speak enough to the level of communication - it's hard to find in competitors both upfront and during execution. Even afterwards Nick came back and did a thorough cleanup job of any mess that's a natural byproduct of planting trees.

I was also impressed with the quality of work. It was clear that Nick knew what he was doing during the execution and in the questions he asked. He implemented our requests (e.g. trees facing a certain way) flawlessly.

NOAT is outstanding! Nick came by within 24 hours of us contacting him. He started the project and ended the project within the timeframe he gave us. All his employees were great. Friendly and touched base with us regularly until completion. Patio is exactly what we wanted. We would not hesitate to highly recommend them for your outdoor projects.

I can't speak to value as I have never researched pricing and contractors in the area. My opinion is that I got top-notch quality and it was well worth the peace of mind.

I had ample opportunity to watch Nick and his team work consistently and hard doing a pool, patio, outdoor kitchen, and landscaping next door. I was impressed enough to choose NOAT, especially after hearing so many contractor horror stories. (I did double check that he was licensed though).

Never having had a pool before, it was a new experience. The team was very patient with me, as well as flexible with my design ideas and changes, and responsive to my questions and concerns.

I was also comfortable about payments - I never felt pressured. The payment schedule seemed very fair and reasonable - again especially after hearing how many contractors insisted on a lot of the cost up front and then never completed the jobs.

Their work speaks for itself - apparently quite a few neighbors will be contracting with NOAT after seeing the work and their work ethic.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend NOAT. I sent them a picture of a custom flagstone patio and fireplace and they said they could do it no problem. I had gotten three quotes and they were right in the middle. I chose them because they were willing to use the stone vaneer I wanted on the fireplace instead of just a brick fireplace kit and they had great reviews on Google.

The fireplace was supposed to have wood boxes with bench seats on each side but they put just benches instead. There is no way they can be used as wood boxes because the wood will get wet. That one was my bad because the quote indicated open wood boxes and I did not catch that in the quote.

The benches are not at all symmetrical. One sits back and the other sits forward so it just looks ridiculous. They would not fix it and instead gave us a very small credit.

The stone vaneer on the fireplace looks good on the back and the sides but looks like a five year old art project in the front. The front is the most important part! They fixed the worst part but most of the entire front is still very poorly done.

The flagstone patio is also very disappointing. I don't think they have the experience necessary to lay that kind of patio.

Needless to say I paid a LOT of money for this and now have to pay someone else thousands more to do it correctly. They are very nice people and worked very hard but I just don't think they have the skill necessary to execute this type of project.

To reply to your reply: That is untrue and misleading. We did NOT give you a budget. We showed you a picture of what we wanted and you gave us an estimate. We paid what you asked and did not give you a budget. After you gave us an estimate you sent us veneer options and we choose one from your selection. The poor workmanship is NOT due to a budget we imposed on you.

Also, they have a photo on their own website showing a worker wearing a "GOAT" shirt instead of a "NOAT" shirt, which leads me to believe that they changed their name at some point.

After extensive research we chose NOAT for our in ground pool and could not be happier! Nick was great to work with, answered all of our (many) questions, and worked with us on the design. His team and vendors were all super efficient, friendly, and very professional. Cannot recommend this team enough!

NOAT did an incredible job with our backyard rennovations! We spent several months speaking with contractors and reviewing their portfolios, but shortly after meeting with NOAT and seeing some of their past work we knew this was the team for the job. We had an awesome experience working with Nick and his team at NOAT. They started our pool project a month ahead of schedule and finished in the time they said they would.
We loved the option of a “one stop shop” with NOAT. They covered everything from start to finish and we didn’t have to hassle with coordinating vendors. They installed the pool, concrete patio, retaining wall, and landscaping and we couldn’t be happier. They also coordinated the fence installation.
Nick and his team were (and continue to be) responsive to all our questions and concerns and patient in teaching us along the way.
