I'm an 81 year old retired nurse who had about given up on expecting competency, and certainly not kindness, from businesses anymore but what a wonderful surprise plumbing supervisor Tim Dudek and his team were! They recently replaced a 30 year old water heater for me and when It wasn't heating properly all the time I called, Tim came over the next day saying he would correct it then sent Ian and they did just that. I can't recommend them highly enough. GOD bless Tim, Ian their team for their great help.

And my little dog loved them - which speaks volumes!

My experience with Comfort First in Sanford was beyond exceptional. I was serviced by Nick Flesch, who was absolutely fantastic. For anything plumbing, please use this service and don’t be afraid to ask for Nick. 10/5 stars

I have used Comfort First, out of Sanford, for my plumbing repair and installation needs. They are very responsive and the service tech, Nick, was outstanding. He is very knowledgeable and he and his team do great work! I will be using them again in the future, when the need arises.

Loc Huynh, the Technician assigned for maintenance on our heating and cooling systems, was prompt in arriving, introducing himself, and doing the necessary work to ensure both systems were working properly. Upon completion of the service order, he throughly explained what he had done. If Loc
Huynh's work ethics is typical of that of all employees at Comfort First, your company is to be commended. Blessings!!!

I had an outstanding experience with Bill Mitseff from Comfort First Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing. Bill arrived right on time and was extremely professional from start to finish. He took the time to thoroughly listen and understand the issue I was experiencing, which I truly appreciated.

Initially, the problem appeared to be a cracked toilet tank, and I was informed by insurance that it would not be covered. However, Bill didn’t stop there. He was persistent and genuinely committed to helping find the real cause of the problem. He carefully opened the tank and discovered that the actual issue was a worn-out rubber washer on the bolt connecting the toilet seat, which was causing the leak.

Bill replaced the faulty washer and the flush unit, and he spent a considerable amount of time making sure everything was functioning perfectly before he left. His attention to detail, honesty, and dedication really stood out.

Excellent service and a great job overall. I am extremely happy with Bill’s work and would highly recommend him and Comfort First to anyone in need of plumbing services!

My home warranty company sent them out. The young man that came seemed to be knowledgeable. He said we have “cracks” in our heating system. Then he said we had to make an appointment for someone to come talk to us about it. Two days later Adam (clearly their “sales”guy) came in looked around and “confirmed” the said problem. He then proceeded to show me videos and pictures on a device. I asked him to email them to me. He said he couldn’t. Then how do I know those are actual pictures & videos of my system.
Then came the sales pitch. He actually said to me that if I went with the warranty company, it would be 4-6 weeks wait on parts… he basically said not to go through the home warranty company because it will be a poor process and experience. The HW company said my portion would be $6620. Adam with comfort first said it will be between $11-17k. And I could finance it through them.
We paid out of our pocket 2 for other reparable companies to come out and look at it. They both said that the system does not need replacing, just a motor and another small part. Which in the end cost me nothing.
SN: I look up this company when assigned by HW company and they had great reviews. So you can imagine how disappointed I was.

I had a very bad experience with this company. On October 2025, I called "Comfort First Heating and Cooling" for my HVAC not cooling, they came and replaced the TXV valve, evaporator coil and filled coolant for $1500 in total. And told no issues will come for next 2 years.

In 4 months again (March 2026) my AC was not throwing cold air, when I called these guys again they told the same story. Coolant is empty and change the evaporator coil again asking $2600 this time.

It was their fault as they didn't do a good fix in the first attempt itself and all the coolant got leaked. They are not agreeing and asking $2600 now. They are telling due to SNOW and ICE the coolant got leaked. When I called the front desk they told will connect me to Service Manager, but no-one talked after that. I cancelled their membership and will never trust these guys.

When I say I'm not one to leave reviews, I mean that very sincerely. Unfortunately, I have felt this warranted my taking the time to do it. We had a new HVAC installed through Comfort First about 4 or 5 years ago. We have had issues EVERY year and sometimes more than once a year. Like clockwork we called again this year to have it fixed. After diagnosing the issue, a part was ordered. After coming back to fix this, they find that there was a second part needed for a different issue that was overlooked. A part is ordered again. After them coming back again to fix that, I now find our HVAC is blowing cold air and our thermostat is reading the temperature as 80. It is right before Christmas...it is not 80 degrees. I will grant that overall our customer service experience with the company has been generally positive. However, whatever products they're installing (thermostats and HVACs) are very poor quality and not made to last. I would not recommend Comfort First to anyone inquiring.

The whole experience with Comfort First was amazing above and beyond our expectations. The techs. Shawn the tech diagnosing the problem
, Adam the Project Manager, and Omar, Carlos and Alex the installers were awesome.
The promptness of the appointment, scheduled installation and completion was great.
They were very knowledgeable and compassionate. We give them a wonderful recommendation.

Comfort first, put in a brand new home.Air conditioning system in my house to replace my ten year old train three ton system.
To this day, and almost fourteen thousand dollars in loans to do this, this system still is not cooling. This house appropriately as well as my old system did.
They have been out to my home.Six or seven times now, each time, one crew finding more behind that, the other crew in front of them had left either undone or done improperly.
I had water being retained in the house. It wasn't draining, we were getting mold and mildew smells through our ductwork and dust from some open ductwork. That was sucking dust and trash from underneath the house and blowing it into the rooms. we ended up getting upper respiratory infections. the original installers left panel boxes outside the house, open in a hailstorm and garbage around the yard, and the unit itself unsealed, which myself as a retired general contractor I silver taped that first day.
Now, this past week, I had two guys from them.Come out all the way down from sanford, who actually did a pretty good job.And for once, somebody from this company listened to me because I knew that there was an air leak underneath the house coming up in a wall cavity where it shouldn't have been, which I explained 23 different supervisors that came out here.None of them could understand what I was talking about. But these gentlemen actually figured it out when I told them, and then they came back and said, it was exactly what I said, one of the lines had a hole in it.It was blowing around the outside wall and pushing up into an empty wall cavity. And then pushing cold refrigerated air out of a hamper, built into the wall.In my bathroom...
You'd almost think somebody from this company would listen to a guy with almost thirty eight years construction experience, but apparently they don't.
And yet, some of the problems still looms as in today. This morning at eight a m on sunday morning, before even getting any Heat load. with the thermostat set at seventy three. My master bedroom and my son's room were both seventy seven degrees already. The living room was seventy three degrees and the den, which is the largest room in the house, with the smallest amount of cool air going to it was seventy two degrees... we never had this much discrepancy issues with the original system. The bedroom was always able to remain being cool. Our third bedroom was also seventy two degrees.. but the two rooms that are being used are consistently 4-6 degrees hotter than the thermostat setting, making them unbearable to sleep in...
We will likely get another company to take over our service contract next year.Even though we were given two years of free additional service on the air conditioning system with all the issues that they've had on top of the first year that comes with it simply because this company can't seem to figure out their own issues.
If these problems were not here with the original system that was ten years old, which had no benefit of the new ridge.Vent fan system which this new air conditioning system does have the benefit of then there's obviously a problem...

The only reason I am rating this a three and not a one is because of the two gentlemen. That would just hear this last time.Who actually worked really hard at trying to fix problems that they found and listened to me when I told them about the cold.Air coming up through the empty wall cavity in the bathroom.... none of which, however fixed the issue with the two bedrooms on this end of the house, which are very close to the system being able to maintain the same cool that the rest of the house does.

Jawan was great. He came out and performed the site survey for my Hot water replacement and provided us with options. We decided to go with purchasing our own hardware and he performed the installation of the equipment and all related items while sticking to the quote. Highly recommend and will continue to have Comfort First handle my HVAC and Hot water services.

Was given a time for my appointment between 12 and 5 pm. Kyle came around 10:45 am which was great. He was knowledgeable and went right to work. The office staff are all very nice and pleasant to speak with. I have American Home Shield home warranty and have had several different heating and cooling companies come out. After my first experience with Comfort First, I only request them. They are honest, fairly priced for things not covered, and the technicians are pleasant and know their stuff.

Nick and Dallas originally arrived for my first time plumbing checkup. I could not have asked for anyone more pleasant and helpful. They explained every step of their process, and politely answered all my questions and concerns. It was recommended that I needed to replace my hot water heater. Nick took time answering my questions , making sure I understood what he based the recommendation on. Two days later , Nick arrived for the install and again was very polite and informative . Heater was installed in a timely and professional manner. I would highly recommend both of them . A+

A few weeks ago, I opened a home warranty ticket for a dripping kitchen faucet, and Comfort First was assigned to the job. The technician quickly diagnosed the issue and replaced the faucet. While the initial replacement met warranty guidelines, it was a lower grade model that didn’t match our kitchen. After my wife and I shared our concerns, the Comfort First manager went above and beyond by replacing it with a higher grade faucet that perfectly matched our appliances. This experience is a great example of a company that truly values customer satisfaction. We really appreciated the extra effort.

Our heater partially stopped working over the weekend during the recent winter storm. I left a voicemail and they called back Monday and were able to send someone out that day! The technician was great, and double checked some of our past invoices which showed that the fix was actually within warranty. He was professional and did a great job and I really appreciate that he followed up on those older invoices!

Kyle was amazing. He arrived on the time noted, and quickly diagnosed the issue. He stayed after repair was completed, and tested the system several times to ensure it was functioning well. He even provided a valuable recommendation for replacement of our thermostat, which is on a special now. Great service!! Highly recommend this company.

Comfort First was highly recommended to me by neighbors and friends. We needed a new HVAC company to handle routine maintenance of our system. They were able to get a tech to our house the next day and they showed up within the appointment time. The tech took the time to explain what she was going to do during the appointment and how long it should take. Overall I am very pleased with my first experience with Comfort First.

Mr Lock from Comfort First Heating and Cooling arrived at my home to conduct semiannual routine maintenance. He was punctual arriving at the appointed location and scheduled time. He was courteous - calling ahead of time, providing his name and business, confirming the purpose, and estimate time of arrival. He is professional- with tools in hand, he knocked, announced his name and purpose, requested if he may enter, with cover on his shoes, and asked to see the various locations of the HVAC system before conducting an inspection and maintenance. He is thorough - I watched as he went though each item, inspecting, calibrating, adjusting and cleaning. In the
end he provided an overview of the tasks and conseq.uent findings. Best in service!

I received 5 star sevice with Comfort First Heating, Cooling &Plumbing today. Matthew McFadden and Tim Flesch performed my HVAC maintenance. They were friendly, polite and knowledgeable. They also gave recommendations for equipment I can add. Also, Nick Flesch conducted my plumbing inspection today. Nick was polite, very knowledgeable, and he also taught me a lot about my home plumbing that I did not know. I really appreciate that all three gentlemen, took their time and performed their jobs. I also appreciate all of them for giving recommendations and ensuring that I understood everything. I will continue to choose Comfort First and those three gentlemen in the future.

I had a great experience with Jawan and Bill of Comfort First Heating and Cooling. They conducted a very thorough assessment of the issues and took the time to clearly explain all of my options. I really appreciated how professional they were throughout the entire process. I never felt rushed, and they made sure all my questions were answered before moving forward. Highly recommend their services!
