Can't say enough good stuff about Hicks Landscaping! I have worked with Scott and Tracie over the years on both personal and professional jobs and they are always spot on, in addition to just being "good people." Their employees are courteous, professional and make sure their customers are 100% happy during the job and before they drive away. No stone left unturned (literally) and work is done to perfection. I can't stop gazing at my beautimous yard... and can't say THANK YOU enough. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. Would refer them for any and all your outdoor needs....

The Crew at Hick's did a fantastic job at my home. We replaced our tall fescue with Zoysia and they made it simple. They showed up when promised worked long and hard to complete the job even with not so perfect weather. The owners personally took the time to come out and explain every step of the process. I call and get all of my questions responded to quickly. I would recommend them for any landscape service!

Hicks Landscaping is the worst company, we ever hired..They are really really POOR in communication, they don't return calls. The Manager Tracey Hicks is EXTREMELY RUDE..First of all they installed the BURNED SOD in fall 2014. After calling them repeatedly Tracy Called once and said that she is aware of the problem and she will REPLACED the patchy grass, but guess what? THEY NEVER REPLACED IT....

Now the issue at hand is about the IRRIGATION SYSTEM. It had a problem with rain sensor and after repeatedly asking them to come and check it and repeatedly asked them to make an appointment, so we can go over with them, Hicks Crew just stopped by and TRACY HICKS called the next day to inform us that it has been fixed...

I told her that we needed to be present to see the problem with rain sensor, but she is one of RUDEST Manager I have ever spoke with. Now Hicks placed OUR RAIN SENSOR in between the Green Giants Trees and they are growing and I told her that they will grow and rain sensor will be completely cover, so Tracy said, if you want to move it, then you have to pay for it. I told Tracy that your crew never discussed with us where we want the Rain Sensor in the first place.
Hicks Crew wanted to be left alone and they did not want to be bother with any questions, so Tracy said you needed to tell them where you want everything and I told her Hicks never explained where everything will be, how do we supposed to know the whole IRRIGATION system? It is under ONE YEAR WARRANTY, but Tracy said NO....She is really really argumentative, defensive, rude and worst person to talk to!!!!!!!!!
The argument got heated and now I am writing this review to alert other people NOT to HIRE HICKS ever!!!
I will be contacted the BBB and state of NC dept that other higher authorities!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hicks was one of the best landscaping companies I have ever hired. They are quick and reliable in the projects I have hired them to perform. They are very knowledgeable and provide fair pricing. Check out Hicks if you need any landscaping or yard projects.

Hicks Landscaping has been my landscaper since 2009. I am unable to tell you that i've worked with other landscapers, that none of them compared to Hicks, etc...but what I can tell you about Hicks Landscaping is that the company has provided the following services to my at my home: An 11 zone irrigation system, 4 outdoor lighting sets, they have laid over 35 pallets of sod, they have reshaped and redesigned my entire backyard for drainage, they are responsible for all of the landscape design on my 1 acre lot off Ebenezer Church Rd, they have strategized to help me with a major mole/vole issue, which was terrorizing my lawn and they have consistently mowed my lawn every Thurs or Friday for almost 3 years. They have always returned my calls and or emails and have been as sound an investment into Landscaping and Landscaping design at my Raleigh home as I have made since purchased, remodeling and moving into my home. I would highly recommend Hicks Landscaping for many reasons but most of all because they are responsive, qualified and take pride in there work!

We use Hick's for our company landscape- they do a great job keeping it looking nice, at a good price. When we ask for additional services, they are quick to respond.

We had them do some hardscape in our sloped, grass-resistant front yard. It looks wonderful, so much better than trying to grow grass in shade on a slope! They did nice stone steps with integrated lighting, and so now people coming to our door after dark can actually see what they're doing. Would recommend Hicks for this type of work.

Hicks landscaping completed a major yard drainage (french drain, routing downspouts into backyard stream) and tree-planting project for us. They did an excellent job. Highly professional, communicative, clean, and efficient. Excellent sales staff, consultant and crew. Highly recommend.

From my point of view the contract I had with Hicks was a terrible value. First off when speaking with family that lives in Metro D.C. it blew my mind to find out that they were paying far less for landscaping services in Metro D.C. than I was in Wendell, NC.

The quality of workmanship is pretty much nonexistent. My lawn constantly looked poor and unkept. On several occasions when working from home I saw the truck pull up, someone get out and do something like just blow off the driveway and leave. From what I witnessed it was the absolute minimal amount of effort to check the box and say they delivered service. When I called to say something, I would get an excuse from them about the weather or we are coming tomorrow but excuses for poor performance was all I ever got from Hicks, actual acceptable results from their service was pretty much nonexistent.

My contract with Hicks for a single family home was just shy of $2,500/year. This was for cutting grass, mulch, pruning and aeration/seeding etc. The contract is a great deal for Hicks as they get to charge you monthly and get the reoccurring revenue regardless if they come or not due to weather or whatever other excuse they have.

I think one of the more obnoxious things they did to me was after paying them month after month for lackluster service I get an email after a storm stating that it would be $125 an hour to clean up the lawn and $100 debris removal fee. So basically, go cleanup your lawn before they come or else they are going to gouge you with at least $225 for "cleanup". They were right on time that week.

Unlike me who assumed that the large company is large because they have a good service, do you research on landscaping in the area. There are a tone of little guys out there who charge a fraction of the price and have actual pride in their work because its their business. I now get great service from a local one man shop for a fraction of the price of Hicks.

Hicks Landscape has been out to my home and business for numerous projects through the years. Be it weekly maintenance or one off projects they have always done me right with quality work and quality landscape material.
There office staff and sales staff are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and professional.
I have especially like working with them through the years because they are local and family owned.

I cannot speak for Mariam or Jen's reviews, but I am in business and this group is as professional as it gets for any type of business, especially one such as this with so many that do not play by the rules - from Matt in sales and project design to Jerry the head foreman and crew. Business license and insurance available upon request, marked trucks, matching shirts, polite, working instead of standing or sitting, communicate well from start to finish, and they back their work. Hicks is not the cheapest, but in the landscape world you get what you pay for. Our experience is the finished work exceeds what we envisioned. They deliver on what was promised. Everything in writing, emails, phone calls, schedulers, complete staff to guide you from start to finish. We will be hiring them again and suggest you ignore Mariam and Jen and trust Wendy, Joey, and Randy - I can promise you we have lots and lots of experience when it comes to hiring crews/companies, Hicks is the one.

Hicks is the landscaping company at my apartment complex. The crew always does a fantastic job. Recently, I had a situation in which a garden item got ruined during some leaf blowing. When I contacted the company directly, Amanda was very caring and took my concern seriously. The issue was immediately resolved the very next by Kevin. He replaced the broken item. I am blown away by their customer service skills and kind hearts. Thank Hicks landscaping!

Honestly they deserve ZERO Stars. I met with Kevin on June 4th. He promised me a quote within 2 weeks. I have yet to hear back from him. I called the office 5 times since I met with him. Each time being promised that someone would get back to me. Again still haven't heard from anyone. Extremely disappointed I have to even write this review.

My husband and I were very pleased with the estimate we received from Hicks Landscaping. They were able to come over to our house quickly and provide valuable information that we needed to make a decision about our lawn care needs. They cleared away a large number of broken tree limbs, cleaned the leaves off the front and back lawn and made great recommendations. I would recommend them for future lawn care and landscaping needs.

From start to finish Hicks was professional and FABULOUS communicators. They adapted the landscape architect plan to make it more in line with my budget, and their work was exemplary. But what really makes them stand out, in my opinion, is the customer service after the job was completed. The transporter who brought the rock (from Va) drove on our septic leach field, and Hicks didn't take that lightly. Instead, Hicks insisted that the transporter pay for a septic company to come inspect our septic to make certain that the 20,000 ton truck didn't do any damage to our system. Not only did Hicks arrange the inspection, they sent one of their foreman's over to supervise the inspection and sign off that there was indeed, no damage. Any other landscape company would have left us hanging (to chase down the transportation company ourselves, or deal with the damage ourselves), but not Hicks. I highly recommend Hicks and will definitely use again when I am ready to do stage two of our project.

A huge thank-you to Matt, Melissa, and Matt's incredible team at Hicks Landscape who recently installed East Turf in my backyard. I was surprised at how tedious and complex the installation process was; and, I was amazed at how driven, hardworking, and precise the installers were especially in this intense heat. The fully permeable quality of Easy Turf makes it different from many other artificial turfs. I needed that because of drainage issues in my yard.I love how much bigger and prettier my yard looks. And my dogs love it! The only problem I have with it is that I wish I had had it installed years ago! Many thanks to all of you.

Kevin was very polite, down to earth and could really te he k ew what he was talking about. Still waiting to receive the estimate/quote to have sod installed and topsoil put down in the back yard, but Melissa DID squeeze me in for a consultation at the last minute/with short notice, and when I reached out to her regarding when I should expect to see the estimate being sent over, she was extremely helpful, understanding and forwarded the request right over to Kevin! Even without receiving the quote in the estimated time of 2 days, I still would have to say they are a good company, with great pffoce staff and all the work that I have seen firsy hand that was done by Hicks by the people who referred them was excellent! Hole to getthe quote tomorrow, and if anything changes about my experience I will update my review!

We hired Hicks Landscaping after reviewing a few proposals to renovate our patio area in our backyard. After spending time with us and listening to what our requirements were, they made measurements, and took pictures of the current layout. This was followed up with a detailed drawing of the proposed patio and adjacent landscaping. It was clear from the drawing and proposal details that Hicks had done large projects like this before and had the knowledge, experience and skills that fit our expectations and most importantly , our budget.
Once the project was underway, there were frequent site visits by the project manager along with regular communications about the status of the project. Mother Nature had chosen not to cooperate and rained out the crew from moving the project along numerous times. There were also unforeseen complications that required additional concrete work. Hicks was able to come up with a clever solution that solved the problem , was aesthetically pleasing and also resolved a drainage issue. The crew that was working on our patio renovation was outstanding. Courteous, respectful, knowledgable, masters of their craft and meticulous are just a few of the points that standout for us. It was hot and humid, and these guys busted their butts. Thank you!
We also had Hicks rework the sprinkler system for the areas affected by the new patio. All good there too. After the project was completed, we noticed over the next several weeks that we were having a problem with water saturation of our lawn in one area. We discussed the issue with Hicks and they modified the drainage oultet location to correct the problem. No charge.

We have received many complements on the hardscape patio work and highly recommend Hicks Landscaping for your project.

We hired Hicks Landscape for a natural fire pit area and they knocked it out of the park ! We were very pleased with Matt's attention to detail, constant communication and ability to turn a design into a reality. Pablo and his crew were dependable, crafty and diligent even under some difficult conditions that the terrain threw at them. The price was well within budget, had no surprises and was competitive among other bids. We are very grateful to have stumbled upon Hicks and are currently planning our next landscaping adventure with them !

Retaining walls are finished and the crew did amazing work once again. We will continue to utilize their services and relatives have reported great results with their landscape/lawn management program. Great attention to detail and craftsmanship on our retaining walls !

Hicks did an amazing job on our backyard. We've had years of not knowing what to do back there. With a big tree that we did not want to take down, Hicks worked with us to design and install sod and hardscape -- all with the big tree in mind. We love how it turned out and look forward to enjoying it for years to come.

Matt the designer from Hicks came to my hone in April 2021 to discuss a $20, 000.00 project and and promised a design within 2 weeks.
I reached out to Matt after 2 weeks and was told I would receive the design the next week. I reached out to Matt weekly through July and he told me the same story.

I understand that a $20 000.00 budget may not be substantial to Hicks but I believe that Hicks should have had the common courtesy to tell me that they did not need or want my business.

I can't recommend this company as they are unprofessional and lack simple communication
skills.

The design was not delivered as promised.
