Constraction reviews in Winston-Salem, North Carolina

We had a wonderful experience with Storm Guard. Every person that helped us was very prompt, courteous, and professional. They even helped us communicate with the insurance company and gave us advice about hail damage we had experienced. The end result was a roof covered by insurance! The team that did the installation did a wonderful job, and they took great care to pick up all loose pieces of trash that fell. It looked like no one had even been there after they were done. My husband and I are very happy with our experience with storm guard and would recommend them to anyone. Their business does a good job of taking all of the inconvenience and headache out of getting a new roof. Thank you storm guard!

Just had our roof replaced by Storm Guard due to hail damage. The entire process was easy and seamless and we were kept aware at all aspects including insurance by Kiersten , our customer service contact. She was exceptional and very professional. The team that did the roof was amazing. The supervisor contacted us when work began(we were out of town) and advised that they would thoroughly clear up when the project was done. They were true to their word. A clean up team made sure all stray nails were picked up and they even cleaned window sills were some roofing dirt had accumulated. Blew off our decks and driveways leaving them cleaner than when they started. Shout out to scott Johnson who made the initial contact with me regarding possible damage. He did the initial inspection and sent a detailed report for the insurance company. I highly recommend the storm guard team

I have been using Storm Guard Roofing and Construction for over 10 years and have always received excellent and courteous service.
I highly recommend this company over the larger, more expensive contractors!. Best in the Triad!!! -
Update: I’m updating my review to 3 stars. I got a phone call from the owner (Jeff) asking to swing by my place. He was very friendly and incredibly receptive to feedback about our experience. He gave me some context about our project and why there were some delays but took ownership on their lack of transparency and communication. Overall, I think with Jeff running this company, most people will have a great experience (as is demonstrated with the overwhelmingly positive reviews) and our situation seems to be a sort of “one-off.” The fact that Jeff had driven almost an hour to come take a look at things and have a conversation really speaks volumes to how he runs the business and he has my utmost respect. I hope they’re able to learn from our experience to make sure this doesn’t happen twice.
I’m not typically one to leave reviews on companies, but working with this company has been a joke. My primary point of contact has been Jeremy. The project itself is fairly small, removing and resizing a cabinet and running electrical to the created gap for a dishwasher. The plumbing was taken care of over a month ago by myself. When going over the details, I was ensured that it would be something they could handle, and that I would possibly need to make runs to Lowe’s for various materials. I let him know we’d be using part of our tax return to pay for this project. He told me once we’ve gotten it to send him a text. Everything with the initial conversation had us hopeful and seemed to all be good. Fast forward about a week, I texted Jeremy letting him know we were good to go. He hit me back letting me know he would check the schedule and that they are three weeks out. Fast forward a couple of days I reached back out asking if he was able to find a day. He said he hasn’t gotten a day set yet but that he would pencil us in in a few weeks. Fast forward another three weeks and I reached back out to confirm if he had the date yet. He let me know that he should have some guys freed up and that either Thursday or Friday would work. Still not an exact date but I was still hopeful. Come Thursday, no one showed up and no word from Jeremy, so I assumed it would be Friday. I reached out just to check and he let me know that Israel would be here. Jeremy texted me Friday morning letting me know Israel had called out and that we had to reschedule for Monday. Understandable, things happen, sucks that it had to be that day but I wasn’t too upset by it and thanked him for letting me know. Come Monday morning (the day I’m writing this) and no Israel. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and waited until 10:20 to text Jeremy. I asked Jeremy if we should be expecting him and he told me he’d find out. An hour and a bit later still no word from Jeremy so I reached out to confirm if we should be expecting them. He told me, “We are not coming Bryson I will let you know if we can get to your project.” I asked if he knew when that would be and he told me “I'm not sure how or if we're going to be able to move forward at this point until we figure out Israel.” That was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I told him to take us off the schedule and that we’d be working with someone else. I understand if our little project isn’t a priority, but the fact that we are now being told they don’t know if they’ll ever be able to do it after being strung along for so long is insulting, and has been a huge waste of time and stress. Not once was there an apology given with the rescheduling of things, and the complete lack of communication is astounding, especially where I was planning to take the day off to be able to make the runs to Lowe’s. I was the one reaching out TRYING to get information about when this would be happening and got generic, lackluster responses. Not once did Jeremy reach out to me, except to tell me Israel wouldn’t make it on that Friday. I’ve included screenshots to show how lacking the responses have been. If you’re planning on using this company, hopefully you have a better experience with scheduling than we have. -
Stormgaurd was recommended by a good friend of mine. They had done a difficult job on time and on budget and was clearly impressed. I had difficult job too, old metal roof no sheathing and two homemade tar and flashing cracked leaking skylights. So, I call Stormgaurd. John Brazel came out climbed up on those roof lines and said: “We can do it”and they did. Under tough logistical circumstance and my own personal family tragedy they worked with me in all aspects of the job. The crew courteous and on time finished and cleaned every last speck of work debris. Thanks Stormguard and to John Brazel I now have that beautiful and dry light. My personal heartfelt thanks.

Jeff and Mario were great during my roof inspection. They were professional, efficient, and knowledgeable. Mario identified the source the of problem in the roof. Jeff was easy to speak with and answered all of my questions I had. He's explanations of the various options for repairs were clear and easy to understand. I will definitely be spreading the word about their great services and my positive experience.

Even after an employee left the company unexpectedly, Brian Martin and the Storm Guard team took care of our siding and roof issues and stopped the leaks that we were experiencing! Very thankful for the job and for Brian dealing with all my concerns and questions! Thank you!

we recently had our roof done and Brian Martin and the company was very professional always on time and started the job and showed up when they said they would which is amazing in my option. We also have a business so we hire a lot of people and most don’t do what they say when they say there going to do it but they did and Brian was great to work with !

Been working with Storm Guard for a while now and highly recommended them. Very professional, knowledgeable, and reasonable prices. Brian has been a huge help with my home renovation projects and I plan to continue working with him and his team moving forward.

I decided to replace my "builders grade" 2x3 downspouts, to the larger 3x4 downspouts, with new larger gutters and gutter guards. Also, I wanted to change from the original white (yuck) to a more subtle look. I went with a Blue. Conventional Blue to be exact. Very nice look.
I dealt with Brian. Sales Rep. for Storm Guard. What a pleasant experience. He was most attentive to my needs. Originally he couldn't get the Blue. Took a few days of calling around the country to other gutter suppliers and he found the color.
The installers were on time 8AM, the total installation time was appx 5 hours. I was most pleased with the work they did. Clean-up was excellent. My recommendation to anyone inquiring. Yes, definitely use Storm Guard.
Also, this is the biggie. They always tell you to get at least 3 estimates. I got 4. Storm Guard's price was very much acceptable. The price disparity was huge with the other 3 companies. -
Thank you Storm Guard for a great job on replacing my gutters. I thought the cost was very reasonable and the job was completed in about 3-3 1/2 hours. The property was left neat and clean , all old materials were taken away. If you ever need a roof or gutters replaced call Brian at Storm Guard. Brian is a very respectable representative of Storm Guard.

We used Storm Guard to replace our windows and they came out great. They kept me informed throughout the process and were fast and friendly. I highly recommend using them.Thank you Brian Martin for your help.

I absolutely recommend Brian Martin and Storm Guard! My loved 's roof was in terrible shape. Brian was the first contractor I spoke with who was honest and genuine about the work needed to repair the roof.
Brian took his time and answered all of our questions and was willing to explain the process as many times as needed.
Brian stopped by on his personal time to see if we had any questions before the work began and stayed in communiction until the roof was done.
Brian even came by my loved's birthday with a gift! He became part of the family :)
The work was very professionally done in a timely manner. The Contractor's were very respectful and efficient.
Brian and Storm Guard made the roof repair process stress free and his confidence in their work secured my decision to go with them. I am very satisfied.
I recommend Brian Martin / Storm Guard. -
They replaced 4 pipe boots, and all screws that secure the metal, to the roof structure. Very pleased with the work. The crew was detail oriented and independently motivated to do a conscientious job. Would recommend Storm Guard, to all my friends and family. Also honorable mention goes to Brian Martin who came to give us the estimate. He actually climbed up on the roof, provided pictures of his roof inspection. Other companies did not do this. Also he was professional in how he conducted business with us. He honored all of his promises to me. He provided the assurance to me that Storm Guard should get my business.

After reaching out to Storm Guard for a leak in roof, Brian came out to inspect my situation and determined that I had hail damage from a storm months ago. Process from insurance adjusters to new roof took about 2 weeks. During which time Brian called or stopped by many times to keep me informed. I also had interactions with Jeff and Ross which were informative. All in all I am very pleased with the quality of the roof replacement and the communication during the process and would highly recommend Brian and Storm Guard.
