I contacted A1 Chimney because my neighbor mentioned Ashley was super professional. She came over, checked the flue with a camera, and showed me where debris had been blocking the draft. She cleaned it all up and made sure there was no lingering smell of smoke. What I really appreciated was how she took her time explaining every step, not rushing through the job. She was polite, neat, and left the area spotless.

The crew tested a few things, recommended a low cost fix, and completed it the same visit. No surprises on the bill and everything works better now. They were respectful and careful around the space. Definitely a 5 star experience.

Inspector Moses was very helpful and courteous. He not only went out of his way to try to find a solution but provided us with advice to try to resolve our problem. He was willing to help research the error by another company and help reaching out to them. Thanks for a good first experience..

Due to good reviews we contacted A1 for an appt. On the day of the appt the serviceman called mid-time slot to ask for a time later than the original time slot. Out of courtesy we agreed and waited. At the new agreed upon time he did not call again or show up. A full day waisted waiting. I didn’t mind the request to change times as I said we agreed. I do however mind the lack of follow up and no one coming at all. A1 did not call us until two days later and tried saying they did not make contact on our original appt date and wanted to set a new appt. Lacking professionalism and integrity in my experience.

Moses came to my house today and did a fireplace/chimney/HVAC assessment. He got on the roof to give me exterior pictures of my gas fireplace’s chimney chase. (Not a brick chimney). We talked about that and the chase cover. He taught me a lot. Then we discussed the B vent that comes from my furnace to the roof (I knew it needed to be replaced and have been looking for companies that do that.) Again with photos to help. Then he helped with my actual fireplace by removing the stuff in the bottom so the gas could flow and get a better flame. He gave me estimates for replacing the B vent and updating my fireplace with remote start. (It’s old so have to turn the gas on manually to start a fire). He was here a solid two hours and he was great.

The estimates seemed high so I still have work to do to figure out how to resolve my issues. They do say they’ll give me 10% off the job if I leave an honest review, but I am hoping to find a more affordable installer.

Moses definitely gets 5/5 for the $99 inspection and detailed explanation, but the price of almost $9,000 to replace a B vent along with needing 50% down was a lot. They do have financing, but the interest rate is 12.5%.

All in all I learned a lot and he was perfect for the $99 service.

I hired A1 Chimney to inspect and clean two fireplaces in my home. What I got instead was damage, denial, and complete radio silence.

The technician, Alex, told me the basement fireplace didn’t need cleaning but that the living room fireplace did. He performed the service, removed his tools, and came back in to collect payment. It was then I noticed black soot smeared all over the side and into the cushions of my brand-new white couch, soot that was not there before. The carpet was also marked with soot particulate from his work. As the day went on the soot in the air has settled onto my other brand new white couch, as well as the 2 white club chairs in the living room.

When I asked what could be done, he apologized but had no answers. None. His solution? Hand my check back and walk out the door.

That’s when the real nightmare started.

For an entire week, I have called repeatedly asking to speak with a manager. I have emailed photos clearly showing the damage. And every single time, I’ve been ignored. No call back. No accountability. No offer to fix what they ruined. Just silence and talks of having someone come out to clean the damage.

A1 Chimney is perfectly happy to take your money, but when they cause damage, you’re on your own.

If you value your home, your furniture, or basic customer service, avoid A1 Chimney at all costs. I now have 2 stained white couches, 2 club chairs and carpet thanks to them, and a company that refuses to take responsibility.

I had a problem with the insert that they installed and was able to work it out with John and the owner being to small. John and I came to an understanding and they set me up with a bigger insert and I’m very happy with this stove. Kyle and Chad came out and installed my new stove which made a big difference these guys were very professional and good at what they do, I will definitely deal with this company in the future and they are great people to work with they also let me keep my other insert which is only 4 months old.. and will sell for half off. Can’t tell you enough how they went out of there way to satisfy me, will always give them 5 stars with there service. Thank you very much

They came out to tell me what was needed to update fireplace. The gentleman seemed knowledgeable. But, I could never get an official/handwritten quote. Obviously, they do not need the business or income. I called twice, to be told, they will get back to me.

Moved on to another company.

I’ve been using chimney works for 5 years. I had them initially come out as a preventative trip to inspect my fireplace for safety. Despite my previous home inspection stating all was good, they recommended work to the tune of 3500 to get the internal structure where they thought it should be. I went along with their recommendation. Since then I’ve had them come out for annual cleaning and inspections. In the past, everything was fine. This year they stated they felt the impact of last season’s use made the fireplace unable to be cleaned despite them having been responsible for annual cleanings over the last 5 years. They suggested i needed a 6000$ solution they could provide for me to use my fireplace.
Today I had another established company come out to do my cleaning and inspections. Both companies have hundreds of Google reviews but the other company has a 4.9 rating, higher than chimney works 4.7, so I don’t have any concerns about their qualifications. Their cleaning was much more complete but most importantly, they did notice the buildup but said it’s not currently a big issue and offered a solution for the minimal buildup I do have for much less cost than the cost of the cleaning.
Unfortunately, chimney works has unnecessarily told me that I need expensive products other reputable companies don’t believe are necessary.
They have many good reviews but I would always get a 2nd opinion if they try to sell you an expensive product for your fireplace. It’s very possible it isn’t necessary.

I wish I could give a 5 star review. The purchase and delivery of the Jotul stove we purchased were great. The young men that delivered it were very accommodating. After my husband installed it we found that the ash pan door would not close. I have been given the run around by the manufacturer, the distributor is trying to help but they say, and rightfully so, that the dealer should handle this. Chimneyworks wants $199.00 to "look at it". I hope I don't have to come back with a 1 star rating.

AMAZING! Keith got my fireplace working, cleaned it up and looks brand new! Happy I finally found a place that knows what their doing, answers the phone, and does good work!

Horrible experience with these crooks. DO NOT HIRE for any type of masonry or flashing repairs! I had a small leak that only leaked once or twice a year and decided to have them look at it; proceeded to tell me it needs new flashing, they flashed it not once, not twice, but three times because each time they tried the leak got worse and worse, and now it leaks in a completely different area than before. Nothing but excuses about my mortar needing repaired while completely ignoring the fact it’s now leaking worse than ever and in an entirely different area. Will not issue me a refund and will be taken to small claims court, what a disastrous experience.
