Lovely place and a surprise find. They are both a beautiful native perennial plant shop, but also a garden that grows and serves food for breakfast and brunch, AND a fully capable coffee shop. What more could you want from a place.

Lots of native plants and flowers at a reasonable price. Really enjoyed the gift shop and latte. Also visited Antigua next door and enjoyed their tacos and bakery. Nice to have both businesses in the neighborhood.

I haven't used the landscape services but their market is amazing. I've gotten lunch to go a few times and especially love the empanadas.

I have to give a huge kudos to show how they genuinely care about their community. A few months back we bought a pork bone for dogs from their market. Within hours of giving it to my dog he had a severe blockage that required emergency vet services. We were informed by the vet dogs should never have these types of bones. We reached out to GLBD to let them know of our experience in hopes they could warn other customers. Without hesitation they informed us they pulled the bones from the shelf so no other owner would experience something similar. This was unexpected but incredibly appreciated. I will always support a business that prioritizes making the right decisions over profit.

Great selection of outdoor plants as well as a moderate selection of houseplants, vegetables, and herbs. When food is available in the shop, it's always delicious! Service is great. 10/10 would recommend, even if you just drop by to enjoy a coffee and beautiful scenery.

I can not say enough good things about this store. Delightful nibbles, lovely and diverse gifts, practice what they preach in sustainability, and extremely friendly owners. I have been to eat twice and had the Quark and avacado toast, which was excellent, some fresh iced tea, a veggie sandwich, fresh tortilla chips, and homemade salsa. A delightful find.

What an amazing place with such beautiful flowers and such wonderful, I want to say owners, but I'm not sure. Betsy and Damien were so sweet to me and my daughter when we stopped to take some homecoming pictures by their sunflowers.. they went above and beyond for us! Make sure to stop in to say hi and to stop and smell the flowers!! Or grab a few pumpkins!!!

Wonderful Market with in-house baked goods, freshly prepared sandwiches, drinks & coffee. The indoor & outdoor seating areas are very relaxing. Unique high quality gift items. The plant area has a nice selection of very healthy plants, including Native varieties. I appreciate their approach to Green Living & sustainability. Definitely worth a trip! I live in KY & have been to almost every garden store & nursery in the region over the years. This one is my new favorite.

I'm excited about the potential of this place! They are still fairly new and are making constant improvements and additions, including adding coffee, tea and gf treats to their indoor wine/organic food/ bread/sweet treats market inside. See posted picture for their upcoming events, including Thursday farmers market, wine tasting, fall festival, etc.. They have a beautiful outdoor space with seating in a garden setting. I am looking forward to coming back soon for their events and nursery and changing my review to 5 stars.
UPDATE: returned for the farmers market. Enjoyed the outdoor patio space with a drink and music. Very relaxing. Lots of fresh produce available. Come see, Thursdays 430p to 630pm.

I’m a single mom $36k into a backyard construction project gone wrong ($34k to Green Living by Design + $2k to an attorney).

Since sharing my experience on local Facebook groups, three others have come forward about their disaster projects with Green Living by Design.

    My experience:
    - Lack of Transparency & Ethics: Throughout the project planning, Green Living by Design failed to disclose their intent to not obtain drawings or permits for my covered patio project. When I asked for drawings and permits, they admitted they were using past project drawings and knew they could get away without permits because of the backyard location and secluded neighborhood. To make matters worse, after I put the project on hold, they covered themselves by getting drawings and claiming they invested $2k more in the project when I yielded zero value from those after-the-fact drawings.
    - High Deposit: I agreed to move forward with a $33k deposit (half of the project cost). Recently, a lawyer advised me that a 50% upfront deposit is unreasonable. Do research to ensure your contractor isn’t violating any consumer protections.
    - Poor Quality & Construction Standards:
The entire construction was subpar. For instance, who constructs a patio without grading the land first? Why weren’t joist hangers used? Why are the toenailed locations so sloppy? I engaged family members and friends in the industry who questioned whether the work was up to code. Green Living by Design also disagreed that the wood posts should be above-grade and insisted putting posts in the ground was standard for them.
    - Questionable Taste: A green roof, which was recommended by Green Living by Design, doesn’t blend into nature. Also, there are lots of different roof types (e.g., ones with hidden fasteners). Green Living by Design claims after the fact that a roof with exposed fasteners was the only option for such a low-pitch roof. It looks terrible from my main living room. Green Living by Design agreed to swap out the green roof for a different color at no cost to me, but the damage went deeper. I no longer trusted their ethics or their construction expertise.

    I’m left with:
    - A poorly built, partially complete porch eyesore that needs to be dismantled (costing me thousands more) and is in violation of city permitting rules
    - Months of lost outside porch enjoyment
    - A $34k hole in my banking account when the only value Green Living by Design delivered was removal of a concrete patio
    - An additional $2k hole in my banking account paying attorneys to try and fail to negotiate an appropriate settlement with Green Living by Design

To be clear, Green Living by Design has offered to return money for work not completed; however, they continue to stand behind the quality of the completed work and claim the structure has some financial value to me. It’s also noteworthy that Green Living Design’s first settlement offer to me included a non-disparagement clause. Make of that what you will.

They scammed me. I asked for a no mow, no grass lawn cover, preferably native. We decided on clover since it was within my budget. I let the owner know at the very beginning that I did not know anything about lawns and gardening, and I was trusting her expertise. She said she would plant clover with fescues not explaining that fescues means invasive grasses. They came in and sodded to remove all the grass only to plant more grass! Who does that?!? Almost no clover came up and rather a lot of weed-like grasses that were surpassing 1 to 2 feet in growth in patches. I still had to mow weekly to not violate Cincinnati law. When I called to talk to them and explain this is not what I asked for, they said they could fix it and sent me an invoice totaling thousands of dollars to fix it to what I asked for in the first place. My yard is small by the way. I don’t have a lot of money for these things and the owner completely scammed me and took advantage of me.

Pics show what they planted coming up in the spring. All you can see are tufts of grass and no clover. Some clover came in later, but very little.
