I'm torn about how to rate Element. On the one hand, we're happy with the finished product. On the other, it took twice the amount of time to get there, & the communication during the process was poor. We started looking into a bathroom remodel last January and met with 2 other companies besides Element. Element came back with the best price, so we went with them and decided to delay the project until June since I'd be home and it would be a lot easier in terms of granting access to the house. The design process was fun, & our designer did a great job. We put our material deposit down in February and met our project manager.
In June, we met with the NEW project manager because the previous one no longer worked for the company (neither did our designer), and the project began on time. However, we had a delay in the first week because some of the tile we had ordered had been discontinued. We thought that was sketchy because the tile was allegedly ordered back in February. Clearly the tile had not been ordered in a timely fashion. Because of the tile issue, there were two weeks at the end of June when no work at all took place. And that's my biggest complaint. We were told by the owner that the entire project would take three to four weeks total. Our contract stated that the project would be done in 20 days except for the counters and the shower door. The project actually took 48 days (more than twice the promised time) and was not completed until the second week of August.
When we agreed to the project, we specifically asked how many jobs the company took on at a time, and we were told "no more than three or four." We later found out from an employee that they were working on ten projects, which, I think, is one of the reasons for the delay. Even without the tile being in, there were a lot of other things that could have been worked on. I was told repeatedly that they did these things in a specific order, but my husband and I have done a lot of home renovations, and the order Element was using simply didn't make sense.
Another major complaint was the lack of communication. We often weren't told if anyone was coming to the house until late morning or when WE initiated communication with the project manager. This made it almost impossible to make plans, and it meant that I had to get up early every morning just in case. It was unpredictable whether someone might show up at 8 a.m. or whether someone might not show up until after lunch (or not at all). We wanted the project done as quickly as possible, so we made ourselves available every day, but the project still took all summer.
My other complaint is about one of their painters. He is completely incompetent. The first painter they sent was fine (although he spilled paint in our driveway but cleaned it up very well), but toward the end of the project, they sent another one, and I swear, he was picking up a brush for the first time. The paint job was sloppy and completely unacceptable. When we demanded that the job be redone, I requested that the same painter NOT be sent, but they sent the same guy ... two more times. Finally, because we were desperate to have the project done, we just went with it, but I had to touch up the walls myself, and I still have to repaint some of the trim because it's awful.
The rest of the workers were absolutely wonderful though. They did excellent work and were incredibly respectful of our space. They were quiet and polite, and I honestly can't say enough good about them.
So, here's the thing. We're pretty happy with the finished project, (except for the paint) but the process was very frustrating while it was happening. I've talked with a lot of other people who have had renovations, and it seems like a lot of my complaints are pretty typical of most contractors. Can you do better than Element? I don't know. That's why I gave them 3 stars because you may be able to find someone better but I also think you could do a lot worse. -

My wife and I were very pleased with the quality of the workmanship for our bathroom remodel. Vlad and his team were attentive to our needs. They made practical suggestions, which we feel improved the project's outcome. The quality of their workmanship was superb - the tilework, the cabinetry, the glass shower installation, woodwork & pocket door installation. They kept to their promised timetable & made sure that we were completely satisfied with the final product. The cost was competitive. We feel that we received good value for the price.

We had Elements replace all our kitchen countertops which included a sink, faucet and garbage disposal. They did everything from tearing out the old and hauling it away to ordering all the new components and installing them. Within a month of giving them the deposit, the work was done. It took 2 days for their crew to do the installation. We were happy that all we had to do was pick out what we wanted and everything was done for us.

Vlad and his team (Mile, Ashley and Sam) at Element did a great job for us. We had extensive upgrades done in 3 bathrooms and a full basement remodel completed in our home. From design to quote to project completion, the work was meticulously executed at a very high standard. Sam (our project manager) often made great suggestions as the project went along related to design changes, material substitutions and other upgrades that enhanced the outcome of the work. The team worked hard, was trustworthy in our home, was very patient with our attention seeking dogs, proactively spotted punch list items to quickly remedy and cleaned up daily during the project to minimize the disruption to our family. Vlad and his team did high quality work, were flexible with our work schedules to get the job done and didn't stop until all work was completed to our expectations. We had a great experience and won't hesitate to have Vlad and Element work with us again. Thank you Vlad, Sam, Mile, Ashley and the entire team at Element. Melissa & Nick T. Hudson, Ohio

Element recently finished a major remodel in our current home and this was the second time we have used Element for extensive interior remodeling. We were very pleased with both homes (remodels completed in 2018/2019 and 2023, respectively). Ashley, interior designer, was outstanding in this recent remodel. Sam, project manager, was instrumental during the process. Due to some material delays, no fault of Element, the timeframe was longer than expected. From demo to finish, our crews were amazing. We find Element to be professional, accommodating and would use them again in the future if we undertake another remodel.

I recently purchased new quartz countertops from Element. They assisted with selection and carried out all aspects of the installation. They were timely, efficient, and the quality of the work was outstanding. A few challenges occurred during the installation because of the age of my home, such that some minor painting, carpentry, plumbing, and tile work were needed. They solved problems as necessary and took care of everything. Excellent workmanship.

All I can say is Element Design Team did a fantastic job on our new kitchen project. From the design of the new layout to the finished product everything was perfect. The other contractors I shopped with came nowhere close to the vision that Element Design put together. The work Element Design did was truly amazing! Even when problems arose Element Design Team made things right. My wife loves our new kitchen.

We hired Element Design to correct some of the kitchen remodel work that was partially completed by another contractor before he decided to quit on us. Part of the big correction was the kitchen Island extension. The structure had to be straightened out and needed to be strong enough to bare the weight of 9ft by 4ft stone slab. We were extremely time pressed because granite installation date was due soon through another company. We explained our situation to the owner of Element Design and he sent his highly trained professionals to identify and correct issues in the most efficient way possible. They prioritized this project out of sheer courtesy, and we will always be grateful for this act of kindness. Apart from corrections, they did electrical work around our kitchen, installed hood and microwave, textured ceiling, and remodeled our fireplace with brick based on the design I provided. I am recommending this company to anyone in need for interior home remodeling. They are the best!

We recently completed a full master bedroom/master bathroom remodel with Element and are very happy with the results. From start to finish, Element worked closely with our budget, ensuring transparency and understanding throughout the process. The design team was easy to work with and the construction crew was friendly and attentive to details. It's been 5 weeks since work was completed and we have no issues to report! I would be happy to hire them again in the future for any other renovation needs.

These guys are incredible. I've never seen a crew that worked so diligently and professionally before. I've had my kitchen remodeled three times, and they did the best job (by a landslide). I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

The team at Element Design did a fantastic job in renovating our original early 80's kitchen and flooring. Great workmanship. I would highly recommend them for your kitchen remodeling needs.

I am just starting a project with Element, and I have to say, the information provided so far leading up to execution has been fantastic. Element has designers who are so helpful. Looking forward to kicking off our project!

We recently hired Element to completely remodel a full bathroom and we couldn't be happier with the results. The team at Element was responsive and professional from the start. The lead designer, Ashley, took the time to understand our vision for the project and helped us choose the perfect materials and finishes. Sam and his construction team were always efficient, courteous and respectful of our home. We were very pleased with their daily communications and progress updates once the project started and Sam always promptly resolved any concerns. We are now considering them for a kitchen remodel and would recommend them to anyone looking to complete a similar project.

We used Element for a bathroom remodel in a 100 year old house. The final product is fine, but the road to get there was awful and for the reasons listed below, I do not recommend them.
1. The design process was fine, but we ended up being 4K over budget. To me, the design team should work to keep you within budget by showing you materials budgeted for. Not the case.
2. One thing I made very clear was that I wanted the dust minimized during demo. Imagine coming home from work to find your house in a cloud of dust. It was everywhere. No plastic “doors” were built. Thank God I myself covered our furniture, as their team did not do anything.
3. The day after the awful demo, the team realizes that the custom tub they ordered is wrong. They did not check to make sure they had the right tub before the demo. The replacement tub won’t arrive for 3 weeks. Now we have a demoed bathroom and a project that can’t move. 2 weeks into this delay, the team offered to come and help us “uncover our furniture” as a goodwill gesture I suppose? We didn’t do this of course because of the already major dust issue. They also didn’t figure out how to install this tub in advance, and had to cut a hole in a wall to do it.
4. Project now back on track, the 2 subcontractors hired by Element were very good. Maybe the only positive thing I can say. Only thing - they were forced by the project manager to stay until 930 pm the final night of the project to finish, leaving an electrical problem they knew was there but no one knew how to fix. This left us with 50% of the outlets in our house not working all weekend. Plus a leaky sink, which they also implied we did on purpose.
5. Here’s the best part. This team uses a silly website to send you messages. Most days you have no idea what’s going on or who’s coming. Imagine then walking downstairs to find the lead contractor Vlatko standing in your kitchen, Having let himself in unannounced. He saw no problem with this, by the way. In fact, his last words to me were something along the lines of “I’m at a loss for words as to what your problem is.”
Do not use this company.
