I live in an area with underground cables and ended up losing a leg to my house in the middle of the night. I called Thompson that morning and Todd came out, located the problem, dug to it and fixed it all before dinner time getting my power restored. Very professional, friendly, and prompt. Highly recommend.

Company is impossible to work with. Had them out to fix my meter on my house on Nov. 27 2013. Was told that they would have to come back at a later date to finish the job. I was fine with that, it was cold and the day before Thanksgiving.

However it is now April 14 2014 and it still hasn't been finished. We have called them on at least 3 occasions and talked to different people. No luck, everybody made promises but nothing happened.

If you are looking for a dependable electric contractor I suggest you keep looking.

During the early morning hours of Friday, June 24th, electricity went out to about 20% of the house we were staying at in Cuyahoga Falls. I checked the circuit breakers, but none had tripped, so my wife called this company (24 hour emergency service) by 4 a.m., explained the situation to the answering service, and they said they would leave word at the business to see if they had someone available to come to the house. They did not call back, so we called after the business opened, explained that we were waiting for an answer. They transferred the call to someone else, which went to voicemail. Needless to say, we did not leave a message, or use this company.

Attic fan installed and it vibrated the whole house plus the fan is temperature controlled but turns on when cool outside and no sun. Called about vibration and tech found no problem, still vibrates. Fan on at temperature lower than needed. Yesterday, 6/22/23 was cool with some sun. Today at 5am fan still on and temperature outside at 60. The thermostat has not been properly set. It need not turn on at these tempertures.
Though installed some time ago, and one return visit, fan has never been right.

It took but one day to reply to my complaint and one more day for a service man came to address the problem. He agreed the temp set at 80f ( anormal outside temp) was to low and adjusted it to a more reasonable temperature for an attic fan.
My wife's complaint about the noise and vibration, he felt, was not excessive. But he added additional screws to the installation for added stability.
Though this original installation was done sometime ago and my original problems were not completely addressed at my first call back, my complaints had been full adressed long after the original installation.

Lost my trust in Thompson when they sent the same tech out to my home to repair a job he failed to complete the dat before. Needless to say I was irate when a few hours after the tech left my home I discovered a small fist size hole in my basement wall. I immediately called company and leaving a message I did receive a call back very quickly from a supervisor who promised to have a head tech come over the next morning to review & repair the job. Much to my surprise the same tech showed up. I personally wouldn't have allowed him in my house again but I was at work.
I do believe I was owed a call saying the same tech was coming back out.
I feel I was lied to.
If you truly want to keep my business be Honest, Don't pull any stunts.
At this point I am just irked

Family owned company, they have always been very responsive and have done excellent high quality work the times I've contracted them. Highly recommend if you need residential or commercial electrical work.

So happy I made the call to Thompson , said it would be two weeks for an appointment but was placed on a waiting list. Two days later my problems were being fixed. It's funny how we wait to call the professionals , learn from my mistakes call these professionals before you run out of options. Thank you for the great customer service and work!

We needed an additional outlet for our bathroom vanity and also needed to determine why our landscape lights were not working. The electrician showed up on time, installed the outlet, and cleaned up the dust afterwards. He found and reconnected a loose wire at the transformer, which took care of the landscape lighting issue.

Great job, reasonable price!

Residential work: Replaced existing weather head, service cable, meter socket and repaired double taps at load center. Terminated/reconnected basement wiring.
Trent and Patrick did a fabulous job and were very professional. I am elated with the work that they did. I would highly recommend them for any electrical needs.

I'm writing this review on behalf of my mother she needed major repairs on the electrical system in her house that was deemed a fire hazard, Thompson electric sent three professionals, they were punctual very professional and respectful, they quoted 3 days they were done in 3 days, 8:00 a.m. sharp every morning until 3:00 p.m. they took no breaks. I highly recommend them they did a perfect job even cleaned up after their mess,and was happy to answer any questions she had.

Recently bought a new house and the sellers hired Thompson Electric to fix a few things from the inspection. Upon moving into the home a tripped circuit breaker was noticed. After reviewing the receipt from the seller we knew it was a breaker Thompson electric worked on. We called Thompson electric and informed them of the situation. We spoke with Jen who immediately told us it was 125/hr for them to come back. We much would have preferred a conversation starting with coming back to check their work and going from there. We decided to hire a different electrician to review the situation. Well.... BIG SURPRISE within 5 minutes the eletrician said the GFCI breaker was wired into a circuit that shared a neutral with another circuit. He stated this would cause the GFCI to break immediately and found it hard to believe it didn't trip as soon as it was installed(how we found it). We contemplated having Thompson come back to correct it, but seeing as they didn't install it correctly the first time decided against it. The real electrician was able to replace the circuit breaker with a GFCI breaker designed for the situation. Honestly could look past the mistake if Thompson Electric had been more eager to offer coming to check their work as opposed to making sure we knew we'd be paying 125/hr if it wasn't their fault..... which it was.

I highly recommend Thompson Electric for any residential electrical needs. Kyle, one of their electricians, did a great job installing our new vanity lights and installing a surge protector in our home electrical service panel. Thank you Kyle!

I use Thompson Electric for all of my electrical work. When I call for any service they are very friendly and get me scheduled. The repairman do an excellent job. I am President of a Condo Association and they do all of are electric work when we need anything done. Thompson, thank you for doing a professional and excellent job from beginning to end!

Their drivers are endangering people on the road. Observed truck 424, I 75 southbound 9/17/2025 tailgating somebody.

I used Thompson Electric to update Electric Service from top of house and a new panel. Brian Lawrence did an outstanding job for the inspection and quote. The 2 Electricians that performed the work did an excellent job and were very friendly. Since then, they have done work at my daughters house and my Aunts house. In all cases Brian was involved for the quote and inspection and there were different electricians for each job, all did a great job and were very personable.
I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO USE THOMPSON ELECTRIC !!!

This is the second time we have used Thompson Electric for our lighting installation. First in our living room, hallway, and basement stairway and second in our kitchen with ceiling and under counter lights. Both times the crew was very professional and friendly. Kyle and Tom did a fantastic job recreantly with our kitchen install and we are extremely happy with all of the work done. If you want it done right, go with the Pro's!
