Electrical reviews in Plain City, Ohio

Micah and team did a great job on our entire house outlet/light switch replacement/update and our panel box replacement (NW Columbus). Punctual, knowledgeable, competent, polite and great customer service. It was scheduled as a one and a half day job and that is exactly what it took.Yoder is my go-to electrician without a doubt.

Seth and Brice were great. Very professional and, also, patient with me and my concerns.

We were extremely disappointed with our experience with Yoder.
We were given an appointment window of 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., yet the technician did not arrive until 2:30 p.m. There was no communication about the delay—we had to call the company ourselves just to find out what was happening.
When the technician arrived, the visit quickly turned into a sales pitch rather than a service call. Instead of focusing on the problem we called about—a blown GFCI outlet—he immediately began recommending that we replace every outlet in the house. We explained that the first-floor outlets had already been replaced recently. He then shifted to recommending replacement of the second-floor outlets, quoting over $2,000, but never clearly explaining why such work was necessary.
When we asked to simply replace the single failed outlet, we were told it would cost $500 if we wanted the work warranted, or $283 with no warranty at all. When we asked if there was even a short warranty—such as 30 days—we were told no. If the outlet failed the next day, we would have to pay another $283.
If you read my Google reviews, you’ll see that I take them seriously. I try to be fair and simply relay my experience so others have useful information. Unfortunately, this experience was frustrating from start to finish. Between the late arrival, lack of communication, constant upselling, and the all-or-nothing warranty policy, this did not feel like a straightforward service call.
For context, we had the exact same repair completed by another electrician shortly afterward. The GFCI outlet was replaced quickly and professionally for $129.
We called Yoder for a simple repair and instead felt like we were sitting through a sales presentation.
