Terrible experience with Roto Rooter, after spending over $200 to clear drain, it was still clogged. We are updating the bathroom and our contractor showed us this hot mess. Also got over charged for the hot water tank valve and pipe, along with a permit fee of $275 (the county only charges $40)

Service man arrived in a very timely manner and gave some good advice, but couldn't help our frozen pipe situation because he didn't have a long enough defrosting cord! Still charged the entire $98.00 service charge. I believe it should have been reduced if they show up and cannot do anything to fix the problem.

AJ came and did a wonderful job. Our sewer lines were clogged and he snaked it plus told us what we might need to do in the future. He also warned us about a pipe that was disconnected in our house which could be dangerous and advised us to get it fixed ASAP. He was genuinely caring about the safety of our family. We definitely recommend Roto-Rooter! Thanks AJ!

    A+ service on multiple calls.

I've had roto rooter from the miami st in akron location come to my house in stow twice now. Once for pipe snaking and now once to replace an old drum trap. AJ just came out today to replace my old drum trap and galvanized steel pipes in one of my bathrooms. He was super awesome, explained everything and cleaned up after himself (and myself from my own patch work). Great attitude and got the work done fast and even worked with my home warranty to make sure I was covered. He is one of the reasons while I will keep using this company.

Called on a Saturday night for a backed up main sewer drain, Randy showed up within the hour. I can not say enough great things about Roto Rooter but most importantly about Randy. Ended up being a two day job and had me as a priority the very next day. Was here on Sunday at 8am to finish the job. Told me all honest ways of fixing the issue and the best way to go about it. Randy is an asset to roto and they now have a forever client from me!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

VERY TRUSTWORTHY! Super fast callback, amazing service, very reasonable price and all on a Sunday! I want to thank A.J. for doing such a great job. It was really enjoyable to talk to you while you installed the new kitchen faucet, disposal and shut off valves. You will be the only one I call if I need help in the future.

    Thank you!!

Within hours of contacting Roto-Rooter, I had someone in my home and fixing my toilet. The plumber was so helpful and polite, he left everything clean and more importantly working perfectly. Thanks for helping me out on such short notice.

With two drains blocked we were really in a bind. I called late in the evening and your man was at our house first thing in the morning. He was quick and neat explaining everything that needed to be done. The work was done long before I expected and everything was clean and back in place. we are very pleased with your work and will be calling in the future when problems occur.

Terrible experience with Roto-Rooter! We had called them for a clogged bathroom sink drain. They diagnosed the problem as a main drain line clog and wanted to snake it from the toilet in the same bathroom. I assumed they were correct because they are the "professionals" and let them do their thing. They removed my toilet and ran their machine that cleans out the drain. Flinging all sorts of black goop all over my bathroom during the process. An hour later, they had put my toilet back and left a huge mess on the floor and all over the walls! To make matters worse, my sink was still clogged! They said there is something wrong with the pipes, possibly a crack and wanted to put a camera in there which they did not have at the time and would need to come back. I was extremely upset at this point, paid the fee for their "service" and asked them not to come back. After they had left I called another plumbing service and explained my situation... they suggested I could clean the pipes out under the sink if I was handy enough. I did as instructed and now my sink drains like normal! I will NEVER call Roto-Rooter again.

I want to thank Rob from the stow office for replacing our water heater. After a long week of getting the run around from another plumbing service and HSA they came out an hour after I called them and were done in less than 2 hours. Thanks for the speedy turn around. It is very nice to take a hot shower in my own house for the first time in almost a week.

Justin was excellent! He came out to the house on a Friday night around Midnight. He was very professional and polite and got the job done quickly.

I called and received same day service on a severely clogged kitchen drain. Tim was the plumber who came out and was extremely polite and professional! He took the time to also thoroughly explain everything prior to doing the work. Excellent customer service!!

Once again, very happy with the service and honesty provided -- and all provided at a very reasonable cost. It's always difficult finding service providers you can trust to provide a quality service at a reasonable price, and we're very happy to call upon Roto-Rooter -- especially the particular service professional (whose name escapes me at the moment) -- who's been out each time. They've earned our trust for plumbing needs. We had a brand-new hot water tank installed and the price and service provided easily surpassed what any of the big box stores could provide.

My wife and I have learned in the last three years that if you just have standard plumbing work to be scheduled and done, there are plenty of good guys locally who will likely do a good job and probably cheaper than Roto Rooter. But when the going gets tough and you have an after hours or weekend emergency, Roto Rooter are your guys. Two incidents at our home in the last three years, both times they were the only ones available that night. Even better, arrived in 30 minutes both times. Had to have one of our home’s main drains cleared tonight (Friday at 7pm) - couldn’t do it myself, sadly I tried but failed. Adam arrived in 30 minutes, was more friendly and professional than I could ever have expected. Less than an hour later, had us clear and flowing. Accepted the coupon on their website and, ultimately, ended up the same price as quoted by the “local guy” who said he couldn’t get here until some time on Saturday. Thank you Adam - enjoyed talking with you and job well done, timely and fair priced!

I had an appointment for two toilet repairs and both bathrooms flooded and water was running through the floor. The water was left running for a period of time. The lack of attention of tight fittings when the water was turned back on led to the flooding, the water then ran for a while before being shut back off. Major repairs in the range of $10K-$20K are required. The water bill was over $160 during this time alone. This has been a horrible experience and has delayed our ability to move back into our home.

We recently had a plumber from the Stow Roto-Rooter company fix our issue. He was a very knowledgeable and courteous young man. He was very thorough and explained everything up front before we committed to anything. Once we decided what path we were going to take, he quickly took care of the issue. We are extremely pleased and would highly recommend this company.

I had been having issues with slow draining pipes and I had another company out and I wasn't really happy with their customer service. But they told me it was the main drain that was clogged. Because I am financially tight right now I thought I would rent a snake and do it myself. After a few hours of frustration I thought I was OK but the drains were still clogged. So I called Roto-Rooter in Akron and they set me up with a free service call to diagnose the issue that same afternoon. AJ arrived earlier than the original time they had scheduled with me in the morning and with a smile on his face. I have to big dogs and I warned him that they were hyper and just wanted attention, and he treated them nicer than any service person who has been in my home. I explained to him all the troubles I have been having and the things I tried on my own and what I thought it may be based on the small amount of research I did and he was polite and said that with the different issues going on it was hard to pin-point anything specific. He recommended a camera scope of the pipes to find the issue and completely explained all of the cost break down and the process he would do. When he scoped the pipes he found the trouble to be the main sewer line. He quoted me accurately and throughout the whole service he explained everything step by step and gave me good advice for maintaining my house plumbing going forward in the future. I'm grateful for this because I am usually a DIYer and I know I can seem like I think I know everything but he was super polite with me and allowed me to see the screen where the clog was and everything! I feel like his service was outstanding and the costs were very upfront and fair. He completely explained the warranties to me as well and gave me his card with his number if I have any issues. Oh, and he cleaned up after himself (not that he even made a mess to begin with) but in general he was very neat, organized, clean and efficient. I not only plan on using Rotor-rooter (specifically AJ) from now on but will suggest to everyone I talk to to do the same as well! Thank you!

My 86 year old grandmother paid $5,000 to have a 150 foot section of downspout pipe that goes to the street replaced. We had a technician out initially to try and snake the drain. The tech worked for 20 minutes with a hydro jet and decided that the pipe was broken underground. They charged $500 for a 20 minute service. He then told us that another tech would be out the following day to run a camera and locator through the pipe to decide what further action needed to be taken. That tech was there for another 20 minutes and did nothing but right a quote for having the pipe replaced. He initially told us that it would cost $3,900 dollars, he then spoke on the phone with a supervisor who told us that it would cost an additional $4,500 to have it fixed. So that’s how we got to $5,000. We were told they would call the day before before they came to do the work which they did not. They did the work in 1 day. It wasn’t a small job, but hardly worth $5,000. They left a huge mess of boulders, roots and broken concrete on my grandmas yard and told her that it would “settle out in 5 to 8 months” and that they weren’t landscapers. For 5k they could’ve tried harder to clean up their mess. They also took $20 worth of corrugated pipe that I had temporarily rigged up so that her basement wouldn’t flood. Sure, she now has a good piece of pipe in the ground but I’m pretty unhappy with the way they treated my grandmother and her property. They didn’t cover the concrete that they put in and it rained on it. The day after, my grandma is almost in tears because of the way they left her yard.

Well, I had about as good of an experience as a person with sewage in his basement can have! Brian, my technician, was polite, punctual, articulate and informed! He answered all of my questions and understood my reservations about how we needed to proceed. In the end, it was taken care of professionally and efficiently. I was educated as to what caused the problem (That camera that can go out the sewer line was pretty cool!) and given some reasonable recommendations on follow up service.
I called Roto-Rooter because of their good reputation and I was not disappointed!

I had an emergency at my home with a couple of drains backed up. I didn't know what to expect about how the issues would be addressed. Roto Rooter sent a plumber on the same day that I called, and he addressed both drains quickly. I worried that the second drain might be a big ordeal, but the plumber was able to snake it without changing the price he'd already quoted for the first drain. One of the drains was a floor drain, and it finally has a proper cover on it, as it has needed for a while. I'm very happy with my service.
