I had several small things that needed attention. It was hard to find a handyman that would call me back. Chris answered immediately, we scheduled a date for Ed to come out and Ed arrived on time and ready to go. He installed a dining room light, repaired a couple pieces of flooring and properly secured a heavy mirror. Great service, great price. I will absolutely use their services again.

Had Chris come out twice to take care of couple issues on the home! He was amazing and responsive! We will definitely use this company again for any handyman needs!

Had Chris come out and repair a very leaky Downspout. The Caulking had finally failed after many years of Service. Chris found that not only was the Caulking failing, ...the Gutter was clogged as well. He Re-Caulked, Cleaned the Gutter, and then as a test, flooded the Gutter with Water, to ensure that his repair met and exceeded my expectations. I am happy to post an outstanding review. Cost was reasonable, and response time was excellent. Professional, Courteous & Efficient, IMO.
Mission Accomplished. I will be using Chris Again, for our Next Handy Man Project that arises.

I've used Long's for several jobs at various homes in Beaverton. In many of the cases, I had concerns about the quality of the work, and when I raised them with Chris, he assured me that everything was fine and that I just didn't understand how home repairs worked.

Most recently, I hired Chris to repair a toilet that was running continuously at a home that I rent to a tenant. At the same time, I had Chris replace the stopper and flow valve in two other toilets in the same house and some exhaust fans.

Chris did the work, and when it was done, I had the tenant send me some pictures. I noticed that on all three toilets, the flow valve was jammed up against the drain valve. I asked Chris about it, and he assured me that flow valve was not touching the drain valve, despite how it looked in the pictures. Chris assured me that the drain valve was not touching the flow valve, but that even if it was, it wouldn't affect anything.

I asked my tenant to double-check, and he assured me that the flow valve was jammed up against and definitely is touching the drain valve.

I asked Chris to come out and fix it by email, and Chris replied by email with a rant stating that he would, but that it was not necessary, that he would stand by his work if anything went wrong, and that if I insisted he fix it now even though nothing wasn't working properly, he would never do any work for me again. I told him to never mind and just leave it as is.

About a week later, my tenant told me that the toilet was still running occasionally. I asked Chris to come back and fix the toilet, and Chris sent several lengthy ranting emails stating, among other things, that he wouldn't do so because I had not yet paid his bill. He also falsely claimed that he had to call me repeatedly to get paid (even though he didn't).

I replied by advising Chris that I had entered the payment in my bill pay service and that I expected that a check would be issued next week, but that given his behavior, I would be adjusting the payment to cover his expenses, and would have to deduct the cost of having someone do the repairs properly. I also advised him that I would be posting this review on Yelp.

Christ replied with yet another ranting email threatening to post negative reviews about me on the Yelp page for my business, even though he has never used my services (which are in another State), and that he would sue me in small claims Court if I didn't pay his bill. He assured me that he would win any such claim because he had offered to go back out and do further repairs.

At some point in the process, he also claimed that the flow valve that I had asked him to use (the Korky valve used by high-end toilet manufacturers like Toto) was the cause of the problem, and that I was at fault for asking him to use it.

I won't be using Chris or Long's handyman again.

Update: You can see an example of Chris' rants in his reply to my review on Yelp. In it, he falsely claims that I made and then failed keep multiple appointments with him, even though that never happened. He also claims that I failed to pay his bills repeatedly, even though that never happened, either. You have to wonder why he kept doing work for me if I made appointments that I never kept and then never paid him for.

In his rant, Chris falsely claims that the problems with the toilets were caused by bad parts. Well, I had another handyman come out yesterday. It turns out that Chris installed all three flow valves incorrectly. The new handyman was able to redo the work correctly, with the same parts that Chris claimed were junk, and now the toilets work great.

Second update: Chris has followed through with his threat to attempt to sabotage my business. He posted a picture of his work truck to the review page for my business, even though I do not provide any kind of handyman services.

We've had several terrific experiences with Chris and Ed. Chris, the owner, returns all calls very quickly rather than several days as other handymen seem to do. Chris is very professional and a real nice guy.
Ed has completed several jobs for us. He's thorough and quick, no messing around. He'll also take extra time to explain questions that go beyond the service call, at no additional expense.
And, besides excellent service, their rates are very reasonable.
All-in-all, Longs Handyman Service is the way to go for many, many home jobs.

Chis Long has been my go-to handyman since 2015 and he has done countless projects in my home. His work ethic and expertise are absolutely top notch! He arrives on time, hits the ground running, brings required supplies, is incredibly organized, and works faster and better than I believe anyone I've ever known...and I'm not new to the construction industry. Without exception, every project he has done for me is perfect and, honestly, completed in record time. He even cleans up after himself - bonus! I am thankful for his partnership and professionalism. He is busy because, like me, a lot of people appreciate his continued handyman help. And, yes, he is not cheap. But I'll tell you what, he is worth every bit of what I pay him. I just couldn't be happier with his work.

Super happy with Longs Handyman service. I wanted a really good water filter on my fridge water dispenser. I had bought an undercounter filter and just needed them to move the water from behind the fridge thru my filter and then back up to the fridge dispenser. They idd a great job, were very affordable, easy to schedule, showed up on time to install, he cleaned up after himself and was very kind. Highly recommend and would definitely call him again.

We had a ventilation fan that needed to be replaced and we called Long's after seeing positive reviews. This was our first time to use Long's and we had a great experience. The current fan was old and I could tell it was going to be very hard to replace given how the previous fan had been installed. Long's was easy to schedule and the new fan has been installed. What was also nice is the consultative approach as we needed guidance on the right ventilation fan to get given our space. We look forward to calling Long's for future projects.

My rental turned over after 8 years of occupancy and needed a lot of work. They did all the work I needed, from replacing a sink and fixtures, caulking, pressure washing, fence repair and more. Highly recommended when you need someone to just get it all done.

We were very pleased when Chris came today to take care of a fan issue in the kitchen above our Microwave where the fan had not been installed properly. We were breathing gas fumes and he was able to turn the fan around properly. He also discovered a birds nest in the center of the improper fan installing. We highly recommend Long’s Handyman Service for your needs. They have been in business for 25 years and we are glad to have found them.

Chris arrived on time, was prepared with everything he needed to complete the job. He was professional, got right to work and completed the job in the time he had estimated. He doesn’t pad the price of materials and gives you the store receipt. I have had him do other projects in my previous condo, and have a few other projects for him to complete here in my current home, including having Longs Dryer Vent Services come clean the dryer vent.

What a great service for all those house maintenance jobs that are just out of reach of my skills. I have used them twice in the past 2 months and couldn't be more pleased with their work. They are all those things that have become rare in the service sector: responsive, courteous, knowledgeable and they arrive on time! I think their rates are fair and there is no questioning the quality of their work. Keeping the house shipshape has gotten a whole lot easier thanks to them.

Chris came to a rental I own and cleaned a dryer vent that was completely clogged. He had to go into the crawl space to do it, but had it done in a relatively short time. He also replaced a bathroom heat/light/vent unit with a new one. He was there on time, and was done in about 2 hours. He did a great job, and I would definitely use him again.
