I recently hired Dale at Silent Rock Tree Service to handle several trees around my Portland, OR home, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! Dale pruned a dogwood, three large maples, and removed a Sycamore Maple, along with two small apple trees that just weren’t thriving.

From start to finish, Dale's communication was outstanding. He was quick to respond to my questions, showed up on time, and stuck to the original quote. His team was friendly, professional, and clearly knowledgeable, with years of experience. Dale really took the time to prioritize the health of my trees, offering thoughtful advice on how best to care for them moving forward.

The work was done efficiently and with great care, and I’m thrilled with the outcome. The pricing was also reasonable, especially considering the quality of service. Dale was quick to come provide a free estimate for routine work on our tall conifer and we were able to schedule for the following week. Dale was professional, knowledgeable, communicative, and has fair prices. Will absolutely go to him again if we need emergency tree work and for the next time our tree needs trimmed.

Dale did a great job pruning our magnolia tree for a very reasonable price (also removing a dead tree and trimming another), and we are very happy with the result. Like these other reviews point out, he clearly cares about tree health and was very informative about the work he was doing and how best to care for the tree afterwards. I will be calling him in a couple years to finish out the crown!

Dale brought expertise and great care to the task of pruning 2 of our trees. It was clear that the health of the tree was his priority always. When I go outside now and gaze up at the canopies, I feel a deep gratitude for his stewardship and his love of trees. Reasonable and fair pricing as well. Dale and Vern were well-prepared for the efficient and thorough removal of two fast-growing trees outgrowing their locations. In addition they took extreme care with the selective trimming of two other valuable trees - one in the front yard with heavy fruit and another in the rear yard where further growth would have led to limb failure.

The work went smoothly despite extensive vine interference from the neighbor’s unmaintained overgrowth that made trimming difficult and dangerous.

The work was fairly priced and provided a clean look to the entire yard and home when completed.

Yesterday Dale Richardson, owner of Silent Rock Tree Service, drove his big tree service rig into our driveway towing a large wood chipper. He set out warning cones in the street and climbed into the bucket at the end of an articulated boom and began to raise it carefully through a maze of electrical, phone, TV and internet cables. He was about to begin the five hour process of bringing a tall, mature big leaf maple tree with a huge spreading canopy to the ground. He first maneuvered up and out to the most remote and smaller branches and began sawing them off and dropping them to the ground where his ground man, Verne, would feed them into the powerful chipper where they quickly disappeared. What followed was a carefully choreographed process in which Dale moved the bucket up and down, back and forth as he continued to cut and discard carefully selected pieces of the tree. I watched parts of the process from a second floor window of our house with a deep appreciation of the skill on exhibit of an experienced tree specialist. He moved systematically and gracefully down the tree removing increasingly thick branches, limbs and finally sections of the several trunks. He used different chain saws and cut though large pieces leaving them balanced on the remaining trunk below, then pushed them off to the ground. Dale completed the job by sawing the wide remaining trunk down to a few inches from the ground. Then he and Vern packed up and cleaned the area.

I contacted Dale Richardson because he was recommended to me by a professional arborist who evaluates trees for trimming and/or removal by an electric utility. Dale is a certified arborist with extensive experience in tree service. He quickly responded to a request for an estimate for tree removal and gave an oral cost estimate during his appraisal of the tree. This was followed later the same day with a written quote via email. He is very confident of his knowledge of trees and his ability to get a job done. In our initial meeting he described the approach that he would take to bring the tree down and that’s exactly what he did when the day arrived to begin work. When finally the permit for tree removal was approved by the city, I phoned Dale and he scheduled the job to begin a few days later. I felt at the time that his cost estimate was reasonable and am completely satisfied with the work that was done. I have little doubt that our money was well spent and I am pleased to recommend Silent Rock Tree Service to anyone with a tree that needs trimming or removal.

Dale and his team did a great job of removing 3 huge trees surrounded be my deck. They were very careful to not damage our cabin or deck. I would highly recommend him. Would give more than 5 stars if I could and will use him again in the future

Dale and Vern were a great team at removing a number of trees around my barn. Dales skills in removing limbs from a large fir tree that were overhanging my barn were precise and executing with care and safety. This required climbing 20-30 feet up the tree. Amazing. Everything was cleaned up and chipped. I couldn’t be happier with Silent Rock Tree service and will definitely use them again.

Excellent job in felling large fir tree 10 ft from house with minimal disruption. Work accomplished as scheduled and as discussed in advance of appointment. Owner seemed very knowledgeable about arborist issues etc.

Top notch service. Safety screens around stump grinder, truck positioned on the street to protect passing cars from possible flying debris. Fast, efficient and friendly. Total clean up afterwards. Reasonable prices. Had an accidental break of an irrigation line which was totally NOT their fault as it wasn’t marked and I didn’t even know it was there. Yet they called the city to shut off the water and acted like they were responsible when in fact they were not responsible. Easy fix, no problem. I’d use them again and highly recommend them.

From our first meeting to discuss our pesky but beautiful Black Locust tree, the folks at Samsara really captured our respect both for their expertise and for their obvious love of trees and the nature they support. Their pricing was fair and the crew that did the work could not have been nicer. Watching them swinging around on ropes, deftly cutting back that thorny giant was worth the price of admission alone. I really appreciate how they took the time to clean up ours and our neighbor's yard when they were done. Add to that their low key attitude and friendliness, we highly recommend them for any tree work you may need done.

Samsara is professional and deeply knowledgeable about tree removal and trimming. We had a large Doug Fir removed from a hard to reach spot. They felled the tree with care toward our lawn, house, and neighbors. Tree was removed well and the backyard, side yard, driveway, and street was cleaned up.

They also showed up on time and fit the job in the exact time frame predicted. Would use them again!

This is the second time I've used Samsara. I use them because my experience with them is that they do a great job, are on time, pleasant, very professional and clean up afterwards.

Samsara’s arborist gave us a thorough explanation of what they would do and an affordable estimate to remove a 100ft+ cedar tree. The tree was taken down safely with no damage to existing nearby trees and shrubs. Cleanup following falling the tree and the stump removal was thorough.
We will contact Samsara again if needed for future work.

Extremely pleased with Samsara! They offered the most competitive bid AND did a wonderful job. My tree looks so much better. Their workers were super friendly and went above & beyond. They also did a great job explaining everything. I would utilize them again for sure.

Good communication and they did exactly what we asked and then some. Left the yard spotless of tree debris (except green fruit which is fair they can’t put in the wood chipper and told us this). We will call them back when we have more tree projects!
