We have been going to Portland Nursery for our garden and indoor plant needs for the past several years now, and I always have a great experience. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. They have a large variety of plants, flowers, trees, etc. and their prices are fair. Also they are dog friendly which is a plus for someone like me who enjoys bringing my dog places.

George, the manager, runs a WONDERFUL nursery. I may be from Salem but Portland Nursery is now my go-to for all my garden needs. I’ve never been so impressed by a nursery before. If you’re looking for your next garden addition or just want to stroll through and look at wonderful plants, go to Portland Nursery! Oh and their customer services is great too. It’s a win all around! 🏆 😊

This place is really a pleasure just to even walk through. The indoor plant area is so beautiful, with lots of pots and hangers to choose from. They have a bonsai section, that is what I went for. I was able to find a bonsai tree pot here that I really like. The outdoors is inspiring. I like the way they have plants and tress combined together on display. It's motivating to do something similar at home, and nice to see how different things can go together.

This a great, knowledgeable nursery without the pretentious attitude that some others have. We live deep in the west side and while we don't shop here for garden basics, we gladly make the trip for the good selection of roses, trees and larger shrubs.

Got a few really nice plants here last summer that have done so well with Portland’s extreme heat and ice storm. Had to come back for more this spring, and Andrea was so helpful picking out some new selections. Their reputation as the best in Portland is well deserved.

Higher prices than other places, however always a great selection of plants and excellent customer service. The signage for their plant varieties is also very informative and helpful. A fun place to go if you have extra $$ to spend.

This place is awesome. Friendly workers and a crazy large selection. I spend more here than I would like to admit.

Used to be my favorite plant shop until I was shopping around the potato area and found “Chieftain” potatos that are red skinned potatoes. These were developed in Iowa in 1957. The original name was Ia 57410-10. Id rather see a bunch of numbers than feeling degraded at a plant shop. But when I told an employee about it she simply said “we don’t make up the names”. Well my biggest question is why even order them in your stock? At least rename them to the original name. There are plenty of examples of racist plant names being renamed all together. But of course this one still lingers. Shame on you.

Thank you for taking action. It means a lot to me and anyone else with native heritage.

Amazing nursery! Such a wide variety of plants in all sizes. The tropical wall here AMAZING, I've never seen such a large varigated monstera in real life.

Even in the office season this place still has a good selection

Excellent selection! Can be a bit spendy, but if you are looking for a certain plant, check out Portland Nursery.

Great space, different selection from the other location, but still a wide variety of awesome buys. Great native plant selection and staff is very friendly and helpful. It was super easy to check out on a Sunday afternoon, which seems like it would be a busy time!

Great selection, if a bit pricey. Staff was really patient and helpful. If you are looking for something specific and aren't familiar with the layout, best to ask for help before you go hunting. My only complaint is the somewhat weak selection of natives, although that does seem to be improving. If you are looking for native plants, it may be better to bring a list and ask. Sometimes what you want is grouped by plant type instead.

Outstanding as always! What a wonderful experience to visit on a warm spring day.
We were there to buy an orchid, but we picked up some thyme while we were there. So many varieties to choose from!

I've been to both portland nusurys and this location is much better in my opinion. I love the large indoor plant area, the selection is better than most places but the prices are a bit high for me. I really like buying cheap small plants and growing them myself and their selection of small plants isnt nearly as diverse as their larger plants in my opinion. Still a great store and fun to just walk around and wish you could afford the large plants.

Every time I come here the staff is kind, knowledgeable and helpful. The plants are some of the healthiest I've seen in the area. I'm always happy getting my plants and supplies here.

I’m really hoping that today was just a one off. I’ve been coming here for years because of the gorgeous plants and selection.
Today was like shopping for plants at Home Depot. Plants were in awful condition and so many were bone dry and falling over. Others fell over because they were so root bound they couldn’t stand up. I felt awful for the poor plants and even worse that they were charging money for them.
And the employee that tried to help me knew basically nothing about plants. I asked for sweet Williams (dianthus) and she just started wandering around to all these different sections looking at the plant tags. Something I could have done all by myself. She finally decided that they didn’t have them and let me wander on my own. I would have appreciated her just saying that she didn’t know instead of taking me on a wild goose chase.
I’ll definitely be back, but in the meantime, water those poor plants!
