NO KIDS! Thirteen and under, not permitted. I am a family man, needless to say, we are now former customers. Disappointing and strange policy, I personally cannot justify returning as a customer. We were made to feel very unwelcome when we walked in with our two children, then passive aggression led us to notice the no kids policy. We respected the policy and left the store, went to another garden center and spent a bundle. I guess they do not need the business, must be nice!

I would give zero if I could. Just walked in, at least half a dozen employees there. They were talking, watering, merchandising. Not only was I not greeted, but no one offered to help. I am looking for plants and pots that are winter hardy. I always want to support small and independent shops. But this was ridiculous. They were too busy for customers 🤷🏻♀️

Plants all look so good. A bit on the pricey side but only by a couple bucks. 4 stars though because I have yet to be rung up correctly :( I’ve only been coming here for about 3 months and the plants are always rung up wrong. And the receipt you get is so vague it’s hard to prove your case if you leave and come back. It would be awesome if the receipt said the name of the plant or at least size of pot and price (6” potted plant).

In the past I've been pleased with the veggie transplants from Garden Fever. Spring of 2022 has been a completely different story; very disappointing! Lettuce, sugar pod peas, pole beans and tomato plants from Garden Fever have all failed! I've been growing veggies in Portland since 1984 and I've never had so many problems with transplants. I'm NOT buying any more from GF this year; switching to Portland Nursery. I hope Garden Fever will have better quality next year.

As a novice gardener, I came to Garden Fever with a lot of questions! I recently moved into my new home which came with a fresh shiny raised bed, and the sunny weather had been itching for me to plant my own garden!
I knew roughly what I wanted to plant, but I didn't know what varieties to get, how far to space them out, what kind of fertilizer to use, etc. The staff was so helpful! I basically had a 1:1 personal session with one of their employees in the nursery who helped me pick out a bounty of vegetables to plant! In the end I walked out with a giant bag of fertilizer, kale, lettuce, strawberries, peppers, and tomatoes for less than $30! Very reasonable, especially for the amazing service! I'll be back for sure! -
**UPDATE: I decided to give this place a second chance and when I went back I was excited to see they had an alocasia stingray. I bought one and was dismayed to discover that it is infested with bugs. I had it on a shelf with at least 15 other plants and luckily it doesn't appear to have spread. I've never had houseplant pests and I'm super annoyed that when I decided to try Garden Fever again, I almost wrecked my whole houseplant collection with one infested plant. Definitely never going back again.**
The selection is fine but honestly not more varied or healthy than other nurseries around town. Except here, you'll pay boutique prices for your plants. Today I went in and looked at pinstripe calatheas for sale that are literally double the price as some I looked at elsewhere earlier this week (same size, too). Save your hard-earned money! -
This is one of my favorite garden stores in Portland. They have a great selection of plants-old favorites and more unusual varieties. They also have a nice selection of garden accessories. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable.

Truly Great garden supply shop. Amazing array of trees, shrubs, and outdoor plants of all kinds. Vast supply of seeds and top-flight garden equipment. This is your headquarters for potted peppers! Buy in bulk. All of my selections from this source are thriving! Go Now!

Lots of cool Artisan stuff. Pricing seems a little high but then you are getting quality and cool stuff. Lots of plants tools supplies and soil. All of your gardening things and some makes nice gifts. A very pleasant shopping experience.

A wonderful garden shop and plant nursery with a large selection of plants and they always stock many organic vegetable starts. Tools, fertilizers, soil amendments, watering supplies, basically everything the home gardner could need is here at reasonable prices and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.

I bought some amazing plants for great prices!! Highly recommend. It is one of the best plant shops and quite a big store. They have everything from outdoor to indoor. Service was great and my questions were answered.

Have lived in NE Portland for six years and have been shopping here almost from the start. I always go here first. Even though it is a neighborhood nursery it has excellent inventory and I rarely have to look elsewhere. Friendly, expert garden advice (instead of a sales pitch). Quality throughout.

I loved this store and was so excited to go in and get some new plants today when we were told at the door we couldn’t go in because my daughter is under 13. My daughter was wearing a mask and having been in the pandemic for over a year now understands the new rules of social distancing, hand sanitizing and any other rules a store may implement. Its so disappointing that a store would have such an unfriendly policy!

Wonderful local garden center. Lately they've been very good about identifying plants not treated with neonics, a particularly toxic insecticide. The "bee friendly" info keeps expanding. They also have a marvelous selection of tomato starts. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Garden Fever is a huge plus for the neighborhood.

Came here and saw a lot of selections for gardening and plants. I admire the set up inside and outside. Hope to check again when Spring comes (couple of weeks)

Beautiful store with sooo many options!

I went to Garden Fever for the first time today. Wow! Amazing store and staff! Looking forward to visiting again. After just one visit I can honestly say this has been the most reasonable plant store I have visited in Portland.
Great prices and selection. -
Really lovely selection of indoor and outdoor plants and plant accessories. Their prices are reasonable and they are doing a good job ensuring social distancing is possible and actually happening in the store. I'll definitely be coming back!

This place has an amazing selection for its size. Plenty of indoor and outdoor plants, decorations, and tools. I've only bought small indoor plants here but they're very healthy and happy. There is a great selection of little pots, from inexpensive clay or recycled materials to unique artistic ones.

This is a new find for me, and I will be back!Everyone was sooo helpful and the varieties of vegys and herbs is pretty fantastic.

Great selection of plants/pots and everything in between. Prices seemed to be pretty decent as well. The rude and passive aggressive staff are another thing. I didn’t see the mask sign and was glared at by a store worker when I asked to put a plant aside. If you wanted me to wear a mask in your store then why not just ask instead of being rude and passive aggressive. Will not be returning.
