I love this place! It is the go to spot in Portland for native plants, unique locally craftes gifts, indoor plants and all your gardening needs. The staff is so helpful and knowledgeable, sometimes I just go to talk about the garden and get ideas. I learn something new every time I go!

Used to live in the neighborhood and relied on them for most of my gardening needs.

Pros: worker-owned, lots of free community resources and info, solid foundation of social justice values, frequent events and fundraisers.

Cons: sometimes the employees were not exactly the nicest… as someone who worked full time in grocery throughout 2020-2021 (so I know how awful retail can get), it’s beyond annoying to hear your young, white employees loudly whispering passive-aggressively to pressure me into leaving when the store is still open another half an hour. I could go on but I’ll stop there.

Incredible people - super connected to community and the earth.

I recently had a burn the required some aloe vera, as they all do
My first visit through they happen to be out of aloe vera.
I was told to check back and when I did less than 24 hours they had some aloe vera.
It was not especially ordered for me, but it reflects a business do you can count on not only for their word but keeping their stock fresh up-to-date and gorgeous.
Pop in it looks like they have everything.

Brendan and Joe did an excellent job, thorough and careful, and cleaned up the place well. Easy to work with, and nice. My yard had a ton of magnolia detritus, as well as laurel, hawthorn and tree suckers. Plus English ivy, an invasive plague, and walnut husks everywhere from armies of neighborhood squirrels. Everything looks much better now, front, back and side. Will call Brendan again, and I recommend him for your yard/property jobs.

Love this store always helpful and friendly and gives good products with no issues and if any sign of wear they give a decent discount or price and always work with you on your plant needs.
