As soon as I walked through the gate I smiled! I love a good nursery. They had everything I was looking for probably. I was too shy to ask for directions to the basil. Thanks to the nice associate with the septum piercing that pointed me to the pots!

Great selection of roses, I went for one specific one and couldn't resist getting that and another one I had to have.

I really love this nursery. Fantastic selection of plants. All the veggie starts I've gotten here have done really well compared to others, with a huge variety to boot. Nice selection of cactus, succulents and tropicals in the indoor area too. Helpful staff.

If you love flowering plants, fruiting trees, native shrubs, or gardening tools and knick knacks, Portland Nursery is for you. I visit the nursery during different times of the year and always gravitate towards the ones in bloom to keep my garden a place where pollinators can find a snack.

I had an absolutely lovely time here! Beyond having a very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff, everything here seemed so well taken care of! Their Bonsai section was the best I have ever seen!

Yes. You pay a bit more. But the flowers I have purchased here are leaps and bounds above with longevity and quality. This is the best nursery!

My new favorite nursery. Huge space with incredibly varied selection that is very well kept. Friendly and very helpful staff. It's fun to just wander and take everything in. Really great clearance selection as well, can find some great treasures for a steal. I came in to look at the succulents and cactus and was impressed by the wide selection and variety.

They advertised an annual one-week houseplant sale (30% off). Hard to take advantage of when they were closed all day Friday, despite their website saying they were open and signs all over the property bragging that they are open seven days a week in winter.

Incredible staff. Beautiful indoor houseplant room. The space reminds me of going to the nursery when I was a child with my grandma Rose. Patrick was exceptional in helping me find what I needed to save one of my plants in my shop. He really took the time to make sure that we found what my particular plant needed, locating soil that I also felt confident about. Some indoor plants can be really tricky! We have created so many good memories here at this location working together to rescue plant life over the years and also by connecting with folks in this space, mutual customers and in classes. Thank you for caring so deeply about your community. A true treasure to continue to return to for plant coaching here in Portland.

Beautiful plant nursery with a lovely gift shop and a huge selection of plants for sale at reasonable prices. I could have spent hours there, but had signed up for a holiday wreath-making class. They offer a variety of classes throughout the year. Wonderful experience!

Great selection of plants, but unfortunately the plant I bought here was thoroughly infested with spider mites, which I didn’t notice at the time of purchase (I’m a novice plant owner). I just moved into a new apartment and had no other house plants so I know that it was infested when I got it. I have treated it with neem oil and kept it hydrated but it’s very clear that I am losing the battle. $40 down the drain.

Every single plant I’ve ever purchased from here has up and died. Never once have they EVER made I more than 6 months. Outrageously priced considering they never make it. The gardenias, hydrangeas, English box hedges, elderberry bushes, literally NOTHING has survived. So irritating.

I love this place and have always gotten good results with their starts. I however read reviews noting their plants had bugs. Knowing this I inspected mine upon purchase and kept an eye on them/away from others. I noticed some small bugs on my cute puffball and am now able to treat it and keep it thriving. Thankful for that heads up in other reviews.
Shout out to the really nice staff and awesome selection of pots.

I've loved PN and spent incalculable thousands of $$ over the last 15 years there. I go in summer, winter, doesn't matter. Some changes recently have been welcome (I love the new paint job and return of the plant sale table). However, some changes are worrisome. The massive amount of retail space taken from usable tools to items that are at best, loosely related to gardening is annoying. I've found many long term team members that I relied on for truly usable advice have left in the last year. Experienced employees seem less... joyful, and there are a lot more novice employees who seem to have very little practical plant knowledge. Prices at PN have skyrocketed in the last 5 years, but it was still worth it because of the vast inventory and amazing advice. But those employees that left have scattered to other nurseries where prices are better, if the inventory is less. I hope the new owners can find a balance of new revenue streams and efficiency and not ruining what made PN special.

If there is anything you need for gardening or nursery, they probably have it. If they don't, they can direct you where to get it. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff. The plants are separated by humidity and amount of sunlight needed. They even have lemon trees you can grow year round! I was recently in there bombarding them with questions about making a live terrarium and they were absolutely wonderful! Absolutely would recommend!

Great selection of native plants and gardening supplies. They even have a really cute gift area where we bought some beautiful cards. Will definitely be coming back here often!

Gorgeous space with a wide variety of native plants, houseplants, garden supplies, and gifts. The owners and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Plus they're a worker- and BIPOC/LGBTQ-owned business. Highly recommend!
