Electrical reviews in Tigard, Oregon
-
We had another electrician not show up, and when phoning around, we found Frahler, who answered promptly, was empathic, and offered to take our information in case of a cancellation, as everyone I've contacted is three weeks out. Empathy and service goes far!

Refuse to do on-site estimates, charges $198 first hour and $133 every hour after, smallest increment 1/2 hour. Beware, drive time is counted as billable hours. Two stars for a fixed single outlet. Was repaired fine but charged $500 for service in same town. Super overpriced and don't care at all for regular customers, only big pocket clients. Their right, but left a bitter taste in my mouth.

I'm a real estate agent, and used them to inspect some work for a homeowner. I specified to the contractor what the scope of work that needed to be done. He did not inspect all the items I requested. I talked to the manager, and he said they should have asked for the inspection report to have a list of the items to be inspected, which they did not. I asked if they could go back out to reinspect, since they made the mistake. He told me that it's after hours, and they would have to charge me more for the reinspect. To me, they should have done the reinspection at no cost, since they made the mistake. My career is based on serving others to gain future referrals. This company, and the way they treated me, shows that they do not care for referrals or their clients. Just my experience, but it speaks volumes to their company values.

I really wish we hadn't used this business. The Electrician was only here for 2 hours on a Wednesday then decided halfway through the job (at 1 p.m.) he would come back on Monday. The job had already been rescheduled by Frahler twice without telling us first, so when we were expecting them when they said they would be here they didn't show up or call to let us know they wouldn't be able to make it. Then, Monday when the electrician is supposed to be back he never showed up again.
So here we are, stuck again with a half finished job and no electrician in sight.
I would never recommend this company to anyone, there are better electricians in Tigard to call.
I guess its my fault for trusting a company to do what they say they are going to. -
I had one main project of bringing a 220 circuit to a kitchen island in a middle floor for a new induction cooktop.
How it would be done was a concern . . no idea of the best way to get the needed wiring to the right spot. At a recommendation of Portland Appliance Installation, I called and worked with Frahler Electric to do the work. I also added in a small sub-project to install several manual generator cutover switches.
The strategizing and scheduling with Adam was great and when Joe came onsite, he showed courtesy, expertise and creativity to solve the problem. 100% success. I felt the price for the quality of work was more than fair.
I would hire them again. -
I feel deceived. I contacted Frahler by email to get a quote on a lighting install. The $200 coupon on their website was definitely an incentive to go with them, too! Adam quickly replied and told me they charge about $170 per light. After I asked if they also charge an hourly rate in addition to that, he replied with:
"The $170/light is actually a budget. We bill for this type of work on a time and material basis at $185 for the 1st hour, with one direction travel time included in that 1st hour, and $123/hr after the 1st. The more lights there are and the easier the installation the cheaper the cost per light. The $170/light is the upper end of what the costs will be."
I specifically called him to clarify that time AND materials was part of the $185 + $123/hour, and that there would be no additional charges. He told me yes, that's right, that's the total cost. I would only have to pay extra for the dimmer switch I wanted.
I scheduled an appointment, and the electrician got here on time (about 10 mins early, in fact. I'm about 20 minutes from the business). He had all the necessary parts/equipment. He was done in 3 hours and I was happy with the job done.
A couple weeks later, I got the bill. It was higher than I expected based on my calculations and what Adam told me. Instead of it being about $500, it was $632. Labor and materials were itemized on the receipt. After I questioned it, I realized that they'd taken advantage of me being a layman and not understanding that "time and materials" was the terminology used for a type of contract in which materials would be billed separately. Also, a "budget" did not mean an "average" as I read it within the context of his explanation.
Adam admitted that he took for granted that I'd understand what he meant and that he should've been more clear (this is why I had called to clarify!). I would assume that they would know better, that they should be able to better explain their billing practices to their customers when asked. This made me feel like they purposely take advantage of their customers just not understanding enough. I read some similar reviews while shopping around, which is why I tried doing my due diligence to clarify as much as possible before agreeing to go with them.
If it hadn't been for the misinformation provided upfront, this would've been a 5 star review. Honesty is very important to me. Disappointing. -
I highly recommend these guys and would use again! Their dispatcher responded promptly and an electrician was able to come out that day in a matter of hours to install a new cable so that we could finish installation of a new hot water heater. The electrician worked fast and did a quality job. Other companies I called either never got back to me or it took days just to get a call back.

We have had Frahler out twice and both times the electricians provided good customer service and great work. Allen came out most recently and he did a great job repairing some entryway lights for us. Highly recommend.

Original review from January 2023. Update June 2023.
Incredible, Dave had part of the electrical panel mislabeled. I remember him telling his assistant (who Dave was very rude to) that they *never* relabel a panel once written. Well maybe you need to then!!
He labeled two switches as *garage only*. One is correct. The other is absolutely wrong. Second does garage, family room, pantry, dining room, and part of the living room. That is not even close to accurate!
Also, he labeled some electrical panel switches as "plugs". I asked where those go? He had no idea. Then why label as plugs? He said it is generic.
Extremely unhappy with this company and work performed. I need more work done but will absolutely never use them again.
**********
They were hired by an outside company to do the job. Dave was my electrician. VERY rude and offensive. He made several negative comments about my home, the condition, bad lighting, old carpet, how things could be better. It was also clear he was from a construction site where they swear constantly.
Owner basically defended him and said yes sorry, most construction people are rude, that's just how he is.
The only reason I didn't fire Dave is because someone else paid for the work. -
Adam from Frahler Electric was very professional and quick to respond to our emails- we thought we had a very expensive problem on our hands and he let us know that we had misdiagnosed the issue and there was a much more cost effective fix that would still get us the results we wanted. Very rare to find someone who will go out of their way to educate potential customers and not take the easy route that would have led to an un-needed, expensive fix. Thank you so much Adam! We will definitely be using this company in the future. Highly recommend.

The original appointment was booked a few months out, and the day of the appointment the weather prevented the Electrician from getting to my home....luckily, they were able to reschedule me within a few days of my original appointment. The Electrician was very kind, and very efficient in getting the work done. I misread and overpaid the invoice-they let me know I overpaid and sent the difference back to me...I wouldn't have been aware otherwise, so I appreciated their honesty.

Outstanding Electric Company, exceeded all expectations. I submitted my residential electric project to several electricians including to Frahler via email. The project was numbered, outlined and had photos. Within a few hours Frahler electric replied with an estimate and proposal that was more than sufficient considering it was via email. The other companies either did not reply or did not seem interested. I scheduled my project with Frahler a couple of weeks out per their lead time. The Electrician showed up at 7:30am on time in a company outfitted van. The electrician, Andrew, was totally professional, experienced and licensed. He proceed to accomplish all the tasks with diligence, always asking me to confirm or with questions. The project took a day and a half including installing new ceiling lights, in-wall interior switches, light fixtures, and exterior lights and switches. All work was outstanding, safe and to code. Their invoice came in the mail a couple of weeks later that was simple and exactly as expected. Frahler Electric gets my top rating and is highly recommended for residential customers who have well defined prepared projects and who want a top quality professional electric company.

David came to our home to complete a number of electric issues. Not only was he delightful but great work ethic and lots of good ideas. We would welcome him and Frahler back anytime.

David & Ethan did excellent work today installing a new panel and meter. They were professional, efficient and friendly. We were impressed by the way the foreman worked with his apprentice, giving clear direction and encouragement. We definitely recommend the team and Frahler Electric for you electric work

They were wonderful. Another company never showed up to the appointment I made with them. I called them and they were able to come 20 minutes later and fix my issue within 10 minutes. They then told me of a coupon that would cover the entire cost of the service! So amazing. Thank you so much!

07/2025 - On my grandma's house: we temporarily had meter coming in disconnected for work. Needed it reconnected - other company sent someone to collect gravy work on my aged grandmother and then charge pro $6500-$1,200 for waiver/permit. Felt wrong. Frahler was most insightful, and had power on same day for less than $400 and still offered ($300) coupon for reimbursement. I fully recommend this company, Adam especially was a big help. God bless.

What a great company. I was able to get a hold of someone easily and was able to get someone out to our house within a week. We had two ceiling fans installed and our broken outlets inspected and everything went well. Luke, the electrician, was very friendly and helpful.
I was surprised how easy this was and the prices were reasonable too. I’m definitely gonna call them again for any future projects or repairs. -
I had Frahler Electric install a Tesla Wall Connector at my home and they were outstanding—super friendly, highly professional, and reasonably priced. They arrived on time, explained everything clearly, finished quickly with no mess, and even optimized the setup for the future. Five stars across the board; I’ll definitely use them again! 🚗⚡️

The Pro Tech workers were cordial, professional, and thoughtful. They did very nice work. We appreciate!

We called for an appointment on Monday. They came on Thursday. The electricians (2) fixed all three of our issues, were very polite and friendly. Completed the work in about 1 hour.

Great company from the start! From answering the phone to scheduling efficient service in a timely manner, I always recommend ProTech to my interior design clients!
