Had some water damage on rafter and supporting post that I needed repaired as well as getting some improvements estimated. Communication was good. Technician arrived on time and gave me options for the repair. He also took care of measurements and photos for additional improvements and sent that to the office for estimating before finishing up the scheduled job. I expect to be calling Mr. Handyman for future projects and would recommend them based on my experience with Casey.

Jesse did a nice job on the trim. Jesse and Mike were polite. Scheduling was efficient and reminders were helpful.
Your service is useful for straight forward jobs but I didn't feel comfortable with jobs that require more construction, high level industry knowledge. I had a window installed that was in a wall with no window. Jesse was unfamiliar with how to frame and window and I had to instruct him on the framing required. I was told that the job took longer because of the "extra framing." The framing I asked for is basic code and not extra by any measure.

The process for bidding for the job was also not professional. I asked for a scope of work so I was clear on everything that would be done. I was told the scope was, "Good morning. We are installing a window where there is no window currently." Not really a scope of work. It was told the job could not be completed in the quoted time. This was an apprehension I had because of other reviews on Yelp. One worker did not complete the first day and therefore another 1/2 to 1 day more would be charged at a rate of $600 to $1000 more than bid. This is twice the cost. Again the bid was not done properly.

On time. Fixed the problem . Did not leave a business card . Instead there was left a bag of candy on the doorknob with an ad for another company. I threw out the candy and the ad as this is something against my lifestyle and diet focus on a whole food plant based low fat diet with no added oil. Since no other person showed up in the ring doorbell surveillance I assume it was the person in the photo he allowed me to take of him.

Tim worked hard to fix our slider lock. He was friendly and knowlegeable.

If I could rate this company, I would give it zero stars for its service. They tried to scam customers by not disclosing a $195 fee for a technician visit over the phone. After the technician took measurements and provided a high-cost estimate, they then demanded payment of this fee for the visit. This is ridiculous and highly unethical. Be aware and make sure to clarify all costs beforehand if you decide to let them come to your house for an estimate. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

John L. was THE BEST! In working to swap our over-oven microwave/fan for a hood vent he was tireless in being sure it was done perfectly. The original over-oven microwave install was done poorly, causing a headache in fixing the errors, yet John did not cut any corners. He also checked in about every detail to be sure we were comfortable with what was happening. He listened to our concerns about how poorly the previous fan had been working and made an extra effort to be sure the vent opened very wide for maximum venting. We also asked when booking that the technician wear a mask and John arrived and wore an N95 the whole 4 hours with no fuss. This was our first experience with Mr. Handyman and if all the other technicians are as good as John then we will be using them exclusively from now on. John is like the fix-it dad you wished lived in your same town.

Terrible billing structure and administration services. Quoted $499 for shower drain leak repair with ceiling repair, split into two visits. Charged $770 additional at the second visit without prior consent. I was misled about the cost and did not approve additional charges. The new invoice states customer must be forewarned of additional costs, so I called the manager. However, the manager would not discuss discrepancies, disregarded the original quote, and threatened to escalate my bill. I would not recommend Handyman of Lake Oswego due to unreasonable prices and unethical business practices. One star due to quality work, although the worker did not match the ceiling paint. We had to go buy new paint and finish the job ourselves.

Great company for home construction projects and repairs. Friendly staff. Very professional and respectfully. Highly recommended. They fixed my water leak on my crawl space and will repair my dry walls.

Easy to work with, nice employees, and they did a very good job. Big negative was that the cost of staining our fence ended up being several hundred dollars more than the original estimate, which we didn't learn until our technician was wrapping up for the day (and the only change in the scope of the work was that they still haven't been able to finish due to weather). UPDATE - They did return in the spring and finished for no additional cost, which was appreciated.

I’m hooked. Scheduling was easy. And Jay was amazing. I have suffered for years with drafty French doors that didn’t close properly. Literally I’d feel the wind blowing in the winter. Jay fixed all of them. They’d been hung incorrectly, and he adjusted them. I thought I was going to spend thousands replacing them. Instead, he talked me through the problems, fixed them, and cleaned up. He was also pleasant to work with.

The technician warned me it could take several hours to complete the job - which would have been pretty spendy - but my 35-year-old sliding door wasn't sliding very well, so I gave my approval. as it turned out, I had purchased the correct replacement ball-bearing rollers. Once we got the door down, it only took a few minutes to replace the old rollers with the new ones and re-install the door. In all, the job took less than 20 minutes and the 'new' door slides like it is on ice. much appreciated, and well worth the cost.

Watch out for the bait and switch they were in 48% higher than the original estimate. Materials were way overpriced and one of the gentlemen could have been professional off to have at least turn the fan on or sprayed some deodorizer after using the bathroom. I highly recommend find another contractor as we had one come out after to do some more work and after I heard the price he would have charged I realize I got ripped off

Professional and courteous but charged way too much. About 9 hours of time they spent on replacing light switches, electrical outlets and light fixtures (I supplied all the materials) and was charged nearly $1,600…

My wife contacted mr handyman of lake Oswego and the owner John assured us that his employees could perform the work requested to repair my bathroom flooring. He charged me $120 for 6 hours of work. The tech said it was done after 3 hours. John refused to only charge me for the 3 hours of work. One week later the flooring started to come up and was obviously not installed properly. The owner blamed me. Said I must've fine something to cause that to happen. He was extremely rude and refused to honor his work and repair it. This company is a RIP OFF. Do not use them if you expect good quality work.

Charged $600.00 for caulk on kitchen counter top. It doesn't look good. He said he had to go get the right kind of caulk and was gone more than 30 minutes, even though the hardware store is 5 minutes away. SCAMMED!

First, this company shows up when they promise. They have great communication from the front office. Jay knew what he was doing and didn't waste a minute. He was trying to fix the mistakes of the first idiot that said he could build a cupboard but really was a fake. Jay understood the assignment and gave us good advice about needed changes. I plan on using this company for several projects.

I have employed Mr Handyman twice now. Once for dishwasher repair and today for a plumber. I’m so impressed with their employees. They were on time, knew what to do and the charge was just what was quoted. No rip off! I will use them every time I need service. Honest company!

I Needed a curtain rod installed. I would normally have been able to do it, but have a torn rotator cuff. I called and they installed it the same day. I highly recommend Mr. Handyman.

Casey came to hang my rod and curtains that are heavy blackout linen curtains from Pottery Barn. He was fabulous. He was on time, professional took great care in getting in right and meeting my expectations. The job consisted of 1 1/2 hours and he thoroughly cleaned up after making sure to lay down a tarp before starting the job. I requested he wear a mask and he responded positively. He was awesome and did a fabulous job. I asked if he would replace the refrigerator water filter a simple task, all of 10 seconds, but it was so tight I couldn’t loosen, he kindly completed with a smile. I wish I could give him 10 stars! I highly recommend Mr. Handyman, you will be pleased.
