Constraction reviews in Glenside, Pennsylvania

I used this company for years and they used to be reliable but they no longer are. I think there was a change in management. Very poor reliability and professionalism.I’ve found a new plumber.

I would highly recommend this professional plumbing outfit. They came out in an emergency situation on a holiday weekend and fixed the problem at a reasonable rate. I would use them again if I had the need to. Thank you.

Continually use this business for small jobs and large ones. they have done everything from snake the drain to oversee redoing of our bathroom and replacement of sewage stack through the home.
-
Have been using their plumbing & heating services for the past 14 years! Just had a tankless hot water heater put in and I'm thrilled with it and the service. Thanks Hophan Plumbing!

Very unprofessional. The older man had a bad attitude and insisted on bad mouthing
other companies to make himself look better. Even companies that didn't do plumbing. I wouldn't use this company again or recommend them to anyone. There are plenty other plumbing establishments to choose from. -
Great company. Easy to communicate with, efficient, very professional and did a great job in our home. Very accommodating and flexible. Will use again, highly recommended.

I DID NOT use this business. The following review is in no way reflective of the quality of service that one would receive from contacting this company.
My family lives around the corner from this place. About 6 months ago, a Hophan truck began parking on our residential street. The worker will come in his personal vehicle, move the work truck out, and put his personal vehicle in it's place. Vice versa, when he arrives back with the work truck. This, in essence, guarantees this person a 24 hour spot for work property and personal property, on a small residential street. This person is not a resident of the street they are parking on. There have been times where multiple Hophan trucks are parked here, and also times where workers come and simply take tools from the truck and continue on their way.
Having talked to our neighbors, we've come to a majority decision where it's affecting either elderly residents being able to find parking on their own street, or mothers with children and groceries having to travel two blocks with their goods, simply because there is a Hophan work truck constantly parked on our small street and taking up multiple spaces.
Today, I called Hophan. I left a message letting them know of the situation, and how it was being perceived as unfair by the residents to have to sacrifice their parking spots so Hophan could treat the street as their own personal work yard.
The message I received back from them was full of expletives that essentially said the owner lives close by and he'll park wherever he wants. If the residents are unhappy, they can call the police. It's a free country.
This is all true. As far as I know, no laws are being broken, and Hophan can legally park there.
To me, this response to a simple inquiry just goes to show that Hophan does not care about their neighborhood or their potential clients. Based just on this experience, I will never recommend Hophan, and will openly share this story with anyone who asks about reputable plumbers in the Glenside/Cheltenham/Abington area.
UPDATE 3/2023: This company still sucks. Just a bunch of tools. -
Hophan Plumbing and Heating was awesome! They came to me on a holiday weekend, were on time, efficient and did excellent work. I will definitely use them for all my plumbing needs!
-
Excellent work; professional interaction; very reasonable charges. Assessed my problem and gave a quote. Turned out to be more difficult job than expected. Quickly solved the problem and not only stuck to the original quote but gave me a small discount as a first time customer. My best experience with a tradesman in a long time.

Best service….always available and on time.
Always fixes the problem and with a smile! I highly recommend. -
they did so much work for my mom, they took care of her plumbing needs at a totally reasonable price. so many businesses are out there that rip off elderly people but these guys are totally trustworthy. Quickly did a major plumbing job on an older home/ Highly recommend

I had a problem with my AC for 2 days, I called Hophan this morning and within an hour after I called they showed up and fixed the problem for now but the unit is 21 years old and I need a new one. I'm going to go with them for the new one. They are fast, friendly , courteous & explained everything to a first time home owner. If you need plumbing, heating or AC work I would highly recommend them.

We had them fix a few things over the years. They have always been kind, efficient and reasonably priced. They came out and fixed a broken water line when we had an emergency within two hours of being open.
-
Had a kitchen sink leak. They were able to come out right away. Fixed the leak and replaced the kitchen sink faucet within an hour. Very professional and courteous. Very reasonable price. Highly recommend.

scheduled an appointment for an estimate twice and tech never arrived
i assume this is the company to stay away -
Had two leaky toilets that needed to be fixed. I am so glad I used Hophan Plumbing and Heating. They were responsive, professional and very knowledgeable. It took them no time at all to replace the parts. Definitely recommend them for plumbing repairs.

We have had such a great experience with Hophan Brothers. We've used them a few times now... once for an emergency broken pipe, once to fix a toilet and another time to replace our hot water heater. We intend to use their services forever. They are professional, on time, and give great advice on how to take care of our home.

I have absolutely nothing but confidence in the work that Ryan does. He’s also super flexible and will always help out with any extra things that he can get to.
I originally called him over to check water in the basement because I thought I’d have to get a French drain which would cost like $20,000. He suggested to put new gutters up and it totally fix the problem. He could’ve made $20,000 off of me but instead he was just honest and told us how to fix the problem. I really respect that..
On another call, we had them come over to install some drains Fossetts, a dishwasher and a sink and some garbage disposals. He said he could do everything when the parts come in at different times, but it would cost more money so instead he waited a few weeks and he did all the work in one day and probably saved us for five grand.again really respect and appreciate the company .
Most recently we had him replace our entire boiler system. It was a massive job and he got it done in one day had to reschedule things tons of times because we had to go out of town and we had to wait for parts to come in and again did everything they cost and time effective manner. -
I called Hophan Plumbing based on a recommendation because my basement toilet was not flushing. They determined there was a clog in the drain line. I was told the line needed to be cleared. They did some work and the toilet was flushing again. They let me know, verbally, when I asked that there was a 30 day warranty. Upon their departure, the lead plumber volunteered that I should call if there were any problems and they don't run away from problems. Well, after a couple of weeks, the toilet stopped flushing again. I called first thing on Friday morning and was asked if I was available on the following Monday. I was told there were no earlier appointments. This was a problem because we are renovating the upstairs bath and our only functioning toilet was in the bathroom. Then he proceeded to tell me I needed to contact the person who originally put in the plumbing system. He snickered when I said the contractor was retired. This was installed years ago with no problems whatsoever. He offered that they would come and break up my floor and take it out. That response and the unwillingness to help me the same day did not sit right with me so I started doing my own research on the problem. I ended up buying a toilet auger and a power drain auger. Long story short is that I ended up discovering that the drain line had NOT been thoroughly cleared. And, I, an amateur, cleared it myself and have a properly flushing toilet without breaking up my floor and taking out my entire plumbing system. I would never use this company again and would never recommend this company to anyone.

I was very satisfied with their service. They came out to check a leak in the ceiling and were not hasty about tearing through the wall. They also did not charge me for an initial inspection. When they came out the following Monday, it ended up being a simple calk job in the shower, which they could have easily charged for, but again did not. They also replaced the pressure relief valve on my hot water heater at a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend Hophan!
