Purchased an old home that needed a landscaping makeover. Bob was thoughtful about which plants to save and recommended native plants to replace the plants, mostly yews, that outgrew their usefulness.

The finished product exceeded expectations.

(I am correcting my review. The company now has send me a proposal. However, I need a contractor who is excited about the job, is ready to come again, explain to you about the pricing and such. I will keep looking for company who has more man power and interest about the project that make time to go back and forth until you are satisfied. Please consider them you might find them a good match for your needs).

In early 2018, I met the owner at a regional home and garden show. Shortly thereafter, we arranged a meeting for the president of Terra Green to come to our house to discuss a landscaping project. He did not make the first meeting (we were disappointed and it was problematic to our schedule, but last minute conflicts can arise) so we scheduled a second meeting, which he did attend. After discussing the project and walking the property he said that he would be in touch with ideas and a proposals in about one week ... we have not heard back ... not a week later nor months later. Nothing. No phone call. No email. If they don't want to develop, bid on or complete a project, then common courtesy or "professional" responsibility would have the company contact a potential client with a response. Very disappointed.

TerraGreen added a low-maintenance landscape bed to our front yard. They were creative and detail-oriented, incorporating quality plants and a range of rocks to seamlessly integrate with our existing landscape. They listened to our ideas and were quick and professional.

We hired TerraGreen to help solve a difficult hillside next to our driveway that was always overgrown. Bob came up with a plan to clear the space and put down sod. He also helped fix some mis-matched azaleas we had in our front yard and planted them in a terraced area that was also hard to reach. His crew moved a ton of boulders into another overgrown area and that will reduce a lot of thorny plants and weeds. The crew was friendly and pleasant, they left my driveway very clean, they were easy to work with and we are THRILLED with the result.

TerraGreen provided design and installation services for 2 landscape projects for our new house. They lined the driveway with lovely pear trees They designed and built a meandering, natural rock staircase to link the driveway and side porch to our patio 2 stories below. I had an old deck removed from my house and a paver patio constructed in its place. Working with TerraGreen was a delight from the first point of contact. For the design, measurement and estimate phase of my project, they did what they said they would do, when they said they'd do it. Their price for the project was competitive.

They began my project nearly two weeks before they said they would and worked tirelessly, with excellent attention to detail. The patio was finished before I'd even expected them to start work on it. The area where they moved equipment through the yard was repaired with sod, and it looks better than it did before the work began. In regard to those repairs, I think they did more than they had to, but they wanted to ensure repairs to the neighboring yards exceeded expectations.

In a world where most contractors are unpredictable at best, TerraGreen stands out for operating with quality, consideration and integrity. I'd not hesitate to employ them again, and I give them my highest recommendation.

We were thrilled with the beautiful cedar fence that Terra Green installed in our backyard. We were shown lots of options based on our preferences. The materials used were top quality and the crew was extremely professional and easy to work with. We will have them come back to landscape the patio next year.

I’m adding to my review because we had Terra Green install a patio for us as well. They did an amazing job. The bricks used were 1800 Victorian-era brick resourced from two neighbors’ patios. Terra Green picked up the bricks from both sites, leveled the yard by hand because of the difficulty in getting a bobcat in the space, laid the bricks beautifully, and cleaned up the workspace each night. They showed up each day at 7 until the job was done. The workers were talented, respectful, and hard working. We would recommend Terra Green for any residential project where aesthetics and design are important.

We just can't say enough about how pleased and impressed we are with our completed retaining wall project. In an age of complacency TerraGreen is a shining example of excellence. Every team member was friendly, polite and accommodating. Bob and Judy were amazing to work with. Their attention to every detail shows in the beautiful results. We have already had several people stop to ask what company did the work. Rest assured that we will be telling everyone about TerraGreen!

The folks at Terra Green are very good people to deal with. They listened to our concerns for improving the landscape around our home and were very patient in dealing with changes and money concerns. They were quick to answer questions and concerns even though we made some changes to their recommendations and went over their design several times.

We had hardscape work done initially including the installation of new steps on one side of our home and a garbage enclosure on the other side. We split work over a couple of years to better handle finances and the hardscape was the first work completed.

We also chose to eliminate some of our grass areas because they were difficult to maintain and to keep out weeds. Their design recommendation was to use stone of various kinds in several locations. The installation of a new lawn and garden area was the last part of the work. Though we had some issues they were quick to resolve them. For example, some plants that were installed did not thrive and they replaced some and will replace others in 2025. The front lawn was installed but the grass did not grow or grow only in spots and they replanted.

We hired them because they are listed on the Phipps Conservatory Landcare list. We are also impressed that they are recognized as the Small Business of the Year by the University of Pittsburgh as well as recognized for their sustainable designs and products. Though they are small, they provide excellent service.
