Been going to them for years. Great job every time.
-
Always had great cleaning service and alterations.
-
Extremely overpriced. Also cash or check only, which is ridiculous because it’s 2024. Doesn’t look like the cleanest place and poorly organized
-
This place is a great dry cleaning place. They treat me like family. My clothes are always done on time and perfectly clean
-
My go-to cleaner. Excellent work, fast, and friendly. I can also play the Pennsylvania Lottery here. Bonus!!
-
Ruined my clothes!!!! And still made me pay for them!!!
I brought clothes in for dry cleaning and tailoring, and they ruined them all. Don't go to this place!! Go literally anywhere else. -

Great local spot for dry cleaning! All staff are very friendly and have never had any issues with getting our cleaning done on time.
-
White dress shirts came back stained with a light brown shade. Ruined multiple shirts.

They have an excuse every time. The lady gave me a problem 3 times. It’s not even 4pm. Last time it was after 4 she says no. It’s alway no here. Beware they are dirty any ways.

If you have anything of value don’t go to this please, I’ve had multiple items ruined just for them to ask for them back to fix the mistake and ruin the items even more, the elder gentleman very very rude, place is old and run down

I would never suggest Metropolitan Cleaners in South Side to anyone, except my worst enemy.
They gave me rude attitude when I came in asking simply for a pressing of my 16 shirts.
Upon pickup, all 16 of my $100+ dress shirts had two visible pinholes in back of shirt.
I consider them ruined now.
I was told after calling to complain, that this was their usual practice, in order to not confuse your clothes with others'. Really? It's clothing, not cattle.
Horrible service, on both ends. Stay away from this place. -
Dropped off a pair of slacks for a meeting i thought was happening on wed afternoon, only to find out it got pushed up to wed am. I called to see if i can have pants tuesday afternoon n i was gaurenteed the pants would be ready. They saved my butt, and i appreciate them going above n beyond for the customers. Will most definietely be returning .

We are in town for a wedding and needed a dress and several items pressed. I was able to drop off in AM and picked up by 1pm. Excellent job. Thank you.

I moved to Pittsburgh a few years ago and I searched every part of town for the best Dry Cleaner experience. As a man who previously lived in NYC and LA, a good Dry Cleaner is an extremely important part of your life... This place has the best service, the best prices, and best overall experience out of every single Dry Cleaning service within at-least a 50 mile radius. Don't even bother checking out any other cleaners... this is the only place worth going to in Pittsburgh.

I work for a large business downtown. Upon learning our usual dry cleaners were "closed due to weather" I called around and found Metropolitan Cleaners to be the only one in town that could promise same-day service. It was a larger order, at the last minute, and they had it finished before the time they had quoted me. I was very satisfied and found the man and woman working there to be very friendly.

Used their same day services. Two full suits in at 10:00am and ready by 4:00pm. Great and quick service. Would recommend!

My family have been coming here for many, many years. The owner's late mom who was the original owner was always very kind to me . The quality of work was and continues to be very good. The couple that operates it now do a very good job with my suits and shirts and everything I take to metropolitan. I proudly recommend them

I dislike leaving negative reviews, but back in December, I had 3 items cleaned, 2 coats and 1 comforter. Upon picking up the comforter I noticed a small hole in it but I didn't complain because they were so friendly and I thought the hole was my fault because it was just a DKNY comforter and I figured it was "cheap." I definitely should have spoken up but as a business owner, I try not to complain about small stuff. A week ago, I went to wear one of the coats that I had cleaned. I noticed all of my buttons were ruined. Though this occurred in December I expected some kind of "we're sorry, we will replace the buttons." But I got none of that. Instead the owner was defensive. He said "how long will we be responsible for this?" He totally disregarded everything I said. Again, I know this occurred in December but we live in Pittsburgh where it snows and rains and the weather gets really cold so the coat wasn't appropriate to wear until recently since the weather has been nice. Last week was my first time wearing the coat since I got it cleaned and I noticed the buttons were ruined and the owners attitude about it sucked. He stated there is some sign indicating that they aren't responsible for buttons, which I understand, but it was my very first time using a cleaners and I didn't see the sign. A heads up saying "we aren't responsible for buttons" would have been nice. I expected them to be more accommodating and less defensive. After all, it would have been about $20 to replace the buttons, which is not a lot. Because of the damage to my coat and comforter and the owners negative attitude about it I will not be back.

The folks that work here are extremely friendly. And seem to have a very good reputation based on the clientele we seen stopping in for pick-ups while we were there who looked happy with their dry cleaning services. I don't want to take away from that. However, we stopped in for an extremely last minute prom dress "hemming" (no additional alteration needed - the catch is we needed it back within 5-6 days) and were shocked to see the $140.00 charge on the receipt. The dress is flowy chiffon material with 2 layers. So, when we seen that price, we asked to have the dress back and apologized for the inconvenience. We paid $200 for the dress itself and were not comfortable paying an additional $140 just to have it hemmed. Anyhow, we stopped at two different places afterwards, one place priced us at $40 but could not have it done by the time we needed it back. The other place is doing it for $50 and getting the dress back to us sooner than requested. I just can't help but feel like we almost got taken advantage of based on the fact that they knew we were desperate time-wise and because we are young and might not have seemed the type of people to question that price. I wouldn't say don't do business here, I would just recommend making sure you're comfortable with the price before leaving.

I've brought slacks and dress shirts here as needed since moving to Pittsburgh from out of state in 2013. They have always been very efficient and quick with the dry cleaning. Perhaps the gem in their crown is that they also provide alteration services. They are my absolute go-to spot when I need alterations on my clothing. I can drop-off my item/s and have them back fitting perfectly within a day or two. Even though I now live outside the city, they are my chosen spot for dry cleaning and alterations services and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking.
