Tyler and his team (Kevin and Shrek) helped us with a rather involved project including deck demolition and rebuild (helped us find someone to do this) and navigating terrible permit process with Whitehall Borough, all to construct a beautiful patio and fire pit. They were very flexible, working around our different work schedules to make time to meet with us.Would 100% recommend them for any project, we will have them return for future landscape projects as soon as we've paid for this one!!

Stockman Landscaping contacted me promptly after my initial inquiry. They came out and gave me a fair estimate and started work shortly after. They kept me informed of when the work would begin, if there was a delay and were wonderful with any questions I had. The small retaining wall and landscaping was exactly what I wanted. I am extremely happy with the work that they did!

After having multiple companies ignore me or show up and never provide a quote Nate Stockman responded and came out the same day with a quote within 24 hours. The crew had my place in shape by the end of the following week. Everything looks amazing. I will definitely be using them again.

In past home projects we have had trouble even getting a call back from companies. Not so with Stockman’s! We got a call back within a day.
They replaced an old paver wall with a small Versa Loc wall. From our first contact with them, to our finished product, we have been thrilled! The entire process was so easy. Tyler was an excellent communicator/facilitator. He constantly kept us up to date on everything. The workers were punctual, did good quality work, and cleaned up after themselves. We would definitely recommend Stockman’s for wall construction and hope we get the chance to work with them again in the future.

After some late season sewer repair that had the front yard fully dug up I called Stockman to ask about regrading and dormant seeding of the yard. I was impressed that I got a very quick response to my inquiry. Their estimator came out, assessed the area, noted the work that I wanted done and withing 24 hours I had an estimate for the work. They quickly got it scheduled and within the course of a few days my 'surface of the moon' yard was turned into something that looked tidy and cared for. After seeing my nice front yard ravaged by a sewer replacement it was a relief to get it taken care of so quickly and easily. I'd certainly recommend them.

We met Kevin at the Pittsburgh Home and Garden Show. We were impressed with his knowledge and decided to get a proposal for our fire pit. Kevin met us at our place in Somerset to map out what we wanted. He even had us set up chairs "around the fire pit" to make sure the fire pit area would be the proper size.
He later brought Jeff and John to our place to perform the work. We could not have been more pleased with their professionalism, knowledge and they were extremely personable! The results exceeded our expectations. The fire pit, grading and reseeding the area, and cleanup were all top notch.
We will definitely contact Stockman for our next project

Would hire them for anything they say they can do. Reasonably priced and ahead of their competitors with intelligent direction.
Backstory time: we got into a bit of heat when laying a mound of soil down, without a permit. With many departments involved, an engineer with the wrong plan, a boat load of anxiety, and little to no help or direction from my superiors… I called stockman. Stockman gave me Tyler. Tyler and his team gave me a renewed sense of “we can, we will, and it will be alright.” I must say, You have no idea how it felt; With my back up against a wall, and bids ranging from 70-100k to fix our simple mistake, agencies not taking the time to listen or confirm the actual scope of work… Tyler went to bat. Not only did the estimate and project completion get cut in half, most of the legwork was taken over in that moment. For the first time since this happened back in June- We felt secure, understood, and lead in the right direction. Would highly recommend to family, friends, or associates. Have already recommended them to co-workers, who have already had bids completed for their own personal residence's, while the work was still being completed at our property. The fun, charismatic attitudes of all parties involved definitely made this whole thing worthwhile. Thanks for the work you preform. We appreciate it ten fold.

Tyler Makstutis handled the extension of my driveway’s retaining wall, and he was fantastic—professional, reliable, and great with communication. He kept me informed every step of the way. I would definitely recommend Stockman and look forward to working with them again!

Stockman recently completed a patio for us that involved pavers, steps, and a wall. From our initial discussions with them, we were glad they listened to what we wanted, and they provided information that improved on our vision. They delivered a detailed work plan outlining what was to be done along with a detailed cost. Once the work began, we were again impressed with the skills and thoroughness of the on-site two-person crew. Like many projects, site conditions arose where decisions had to be made. The crew informed us of the conditions and explained the options available, which allowed us to make informed decisions. At the end of each day, the crew cleaned up the work area and cleaned the street, which we’re sure the neighbors appreciated. Even though rain caused several non-workdays, they completed the project in what we felt was a reasonable time. We also liked that a supervisor stopped at the project several times to observe and discuss progress with the crew. We are extremely satisfied with the final product and highly recommend Stockman.

The guys at Stockman were very professional and did great work! Going into the project I wasn't sure what the best solution for my wall would be, but Kevin gave a great recommendation that was also affordably priced. Through the project I was given updates on anything they did along the way. I would highly recommend working with them on your next project!

I really enjoyed working with Scott, Tyler, John, Joe and the team, they are professional and responsive. Tyler in particular is the best, he always tells the truth as it is, never gave me any impression that my money is spent perfectly on point. He made sure I had every questions answered, including the building permit, so I can build the gravel pads ready for my dream shed and green house and have my turf repaired in time for the spring. Stockman is a great company to work with, I have had terrible contact experiences before, so I know they won’t disappoint you!

We bought a home that came with a huge and leaning retaining wall. Stockman was one of 10 companies we had out for quotes. From the moment we met with Tyler it was a no brainer that we would choose them to do the job. From start to finish the process was seamless. Tyler kept us updated every step of the way. Kevin came out frequently to oversee the demo and build of the new wall. All of the men who worked on our job were kind, professional and super hardworking. We’re blown away by this experience and would recommend Stockman to anyone (and will be using them again in the future!).

It was a year ago that we met Tyler at the Pittsburgh Home and Garden Show. All we knew is that we wanted a fire pit and patio built into our "little" hillside. Tyler and Stockman scheduled an actual appointment at the home show instead of promising a call back, and then they followed through with a home visit on-time. After surveying the space and discussing options, we agreed to get a professional design from Stockman, and we fell in love with it. Kevin and Christian were tasked with making the magic happen and Scott was our site manager. One problem - as we started the digging and placing materials, the terrain caused a few challenges with our initial design. Then as we saw things coming together, our "wants" changed some. Scott, Tyler, Kevin, and Christian were phenomenal to work with. It was very collaborative from everyone with design ideas, suggestions, material options, etc. Our Stockman Team was a real partner with us, and we felt pricing was very fair, even with multiple change orders. Kevin and Christian were outstanding with their quality of work and also in how they interacted with our 3-year old, who loved watching the big machines! We love our new "fire grotto" and it's pretty cool knowing it is one-of-a-kind.

Final Update (Summer 2025):
While my past experiences with Stockman Lawnscape were positive, I unfortunately cannot continue to recommend their services. In April, after another round of landscaping work, I personally handed a $750 check to Smith Morton at my home — per his request to pick it up in person rather than have me mail it. Despite this, I began receiving repeated invoices for that same amount, with no acknowledgment of the check I’d already provided.

After weeks of unnecessary back-and-forth, Stockman’s financial controller Jennifer confirmed the check was likely lost, yet the burden of resolving their internal error fell entirely on me. I had to go through my bank to issue a stop payment (at a personal cost), send a replacement check, and am now left responsible for continually renewing that stop payment every six months in case the lost check ever resurfaces.

What’s most disappointing is that, even after I fully resolved the matter on my end and sent a detailed confirmation email (with all proof of payment), I never received a response or closure from their team. A lack of accountability and professionalism like this is unacceptable.

Because of this experience, I will no longer be using Stockman Lawnscape and cannot recommend them to others.

Update (Spring 2025):
I just worked with Stockman Lawnscape again for a full spring cleanup, and I couldn’t be more impressed — once again! This time, I had the absolute pleasure of working with Smith Morton, who is one of the kindest, most accommodating professionals I’ve ever met. Despite unpredictable weather, Smith made sure everything got done — and done well. He even sent his team out in the rain (at no extra charge!) just to make sure the job was completed thoroughly. That kind of care and dedication is rare, and I truly appreciated it.

The crew that came out did fantastic work — trimming, weeding, mowing, edging, and cleaning everything up beautifully, all while dealing with rainy conditions. I’ll absolutely continue using Stockman Lawnscape for all of my landscaping needs. Ask for Smith — you’ll be in amazing hands.

I couldn’t be happier with the service from Stockman Lawnscape! From my very first interaction setting up an appointment with Patty to the insightful planning session with John, they’ve shown dedication and expertise every step of the way. John’s deep knowledge of plants helped us create a fantastic plan to fill in my rock bed and clean up my hillside, truly bringing my vision to life.

Though the work was scheduled to start Monday, some unexpected staffing issues arose. Dave promptly called to apologize and explain the delay, assuring me work would resume the next day—and it did! Mickey and Chase arrived bright and early on Tuesday, with Dave stopping by shortly after to ensure we were all aligned on the project details.

Mickey and Chase went above and beyond; not only did they tackle the planned tasks, but they even cleaned up the many fallen leaves in my yard. They were incredibly flexible when I decided last minute to add lavender plants, which Dave quickly sourced for me. They returned to install the lavender, tidied everything up beautifully, and even gave me advice on other plants in my yard. When Mickey noticed one of my plants was backwards, he graciously took the time to replant it correctly. I know once the new and transplanted plants get established, the bed will look beautiful!

Stockman Lawnscape has been exceptional in every way—responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to quality. Highly recommended!

I have not had a good experience with Stockman Lawnscape!!! I have never been more dissatisfied with a contractor, and I regret ever using them. I contracted with Stockman Lawnscape in November of 2024 to build a patio in my backyard, and I AM STILL WAITING FOR THEM TO FINISH THE JOB! When they installed the pavers, they asked me to pay the remaining balance due, minus $500 dollars, and that they would come back to do the sanding. To my regret, I agreed to give them the remaining balance, minus $500.
After I paid them the balance, I discovered that my patio was smaller than the size it should have been. They said they would come back and make it right. Again, this was November of 2024, and I am still waiting for them to come back and finish. During this time and believing that they may not ever come back to finish, I have had the time to get professional opinions from other contractors. Some of the feedback I received includes…………… “They put two inches of gravel instead of one” and another is “They did not compact the base gravel base, and your patio probably will not last very long.”
It is now September of 2025, and they still have not come back to finish the job. They came back in July and put some extra pavers down to extend the patio to the correct size, but they did not do any excavation to align them with the existing pavers. It started raining and they left! The last correspondence I had with Stockman Lawnscape at the end of July of 2025 is that this would be corrected. They have yet to come back and fix this, and they still have not come back do any sanding. I am just left with uneven pavers and an uneven patio. Every time I reach out to them, they say they are going to put me on the schedule. I am still waiting!!!
I am so disheartened by their lack of responsiveness to complete this project. This is unacceptable, and in my opinion, Stockman Lawnscape runs their business not on moral or ethical business practices but instead is only concerned with making money (meeting their quota) and not losing money. I feel they would rather leave me dissatisfied with an unfinished project than spend money and send their people back out to finish an incomplete job. I gave them thousands of dollars to do a job they did not complete, and now, because of their mistake, I will probably have to spend more $$$ to have another company come back out to finish it.

I had a great experience with Stockman Lawnscape Inc. They were able to remove a tree covering the sign at our retail location. Smith was wonderful to work with, had great communication and priced very fairly for the scope of work needed! I would definitely recommend Stockman and I am sure I will be working with them again! Highly recommend! We have a large outdoor space, approx. 3/4 of an acre of yard, surrounding by lots of trees/woods. The team did an amazing job removing the leaves. They completed the job in one day. It looks like a new yard. My neighbors are jealous our how amazing the yard looks. Very reasonably priced and very professional.

Stockman Landscaping did a great job on our small project. All the guys were very polite and conscientious about the workmanship. Dave and Tyler gave us exactly what we wanted and more! Thank You!!!

They had excellent service and work ethic. Very detailed oriented, my boyfriend and I had our lawns mowed by him and he even went the extra step and removed and old bush under our deck. Would highly recommend!
