I have used Rio Grande Septic Systems for both Septic Tank pumping at my house, and for the install of a complete system at my rental. In both cases I am completely satisfied with the service. For the Septic Tank and leach field install, they came out and went over what they were going to do, how the equipment would come in, and how they would leave the property. Did exactly as they stated. For the Pumping, I told them they would need extra hose, they came equipped, and did a quick job, showing me where my tank was failing and how we would need a new tank in the near future. I recommend using them, and will use them for my home system in the future.

I just built a new house, the septic and everything is working great, but I needed some questions answered about my septic system. I called and talked to Sean. He was not expecting my call, but dropped everything he was doing and walked me through everything I needed, even emailing me documents to help me out. He gave me his personal cell phone # and extended the invitation to call him anytime to help out with questions or resolve any issues I may have. He was amazing. It is rare that you get service like this and I really appreciated it......

Excellent customer service! I sent Shawn a text at 9p on a Friday night because an alarm was sounding and a red light was flashing. He called me, had me send him pictures, diagnosed the problem over the phone, explained that the pump had lost power, and walked me through how to reset and test it. I have called him several times in the past, and he has always he taken care of the problem every time!

I haven't ever equated customer service with septic tank cleaning, but now I do. Jessie was a respectful gentleman and very informative about how to keep my septic system efficient. I appreciate how thoughtful he about driving over my driveway too. The truck is heavy and can easily break the edges of a concrete slab, so asking me about driving over it was appreciated. I HIGHLY recommend Rio Grande Septic Systems.

I dread dealing with contractors; it's so often a pain. Not the case with these folks. On the phone, Sean walked me thru some things that could have resulted in my fixing the problem myself. Turns out that wasn't the case but he made the effort. He offered immediate emergency service, at a price which one would expect. I said we could wait until the next day. They were out the next day, pumped the overfull tank in less than twenty minutes. This is a well run, helpful, knowledgeable company. Couldn't give them a higher recommendation. I'm a retired mechanical engineer and not all that easy to please.

Steve of Rio Grande Septic Systems arrived promptly for an appointment to pump our septic tank. We asked him if it needed pumping, our household has shrunk and perhaps we could wait longer. He looked, said we could wait for 6 months or more, recommended longer intervals between pumping. He taught us how to determine when it needs pumping, answered our technical questions, and didn't charge. He was extremely professional, kind, courteous, energetic, and communicated well. It was a pleasant experience.

Rio Grande Septic is the BEST septic company!! When I first moved here 4 years ago I caught other companies charging too much or taking advantage of me for never having had a septic system before. Shawn and his crew at Rio Grande Septic have always provided me sound options that work. Six months ago I needed and had them install a new drain field and pump. Just recently the pump lost power and needed replacement along with some pipe work. As part of diagnosing the complete problem, they had to dig some dirt and run a camera down the drain pipe. All of this was covered under warranty. Fantastic service to property fix the issue!! I am a Rio Grande Septic customer for Life!! Thank you so much and Thank you for being trustworthy!!

This business had installed a leech system & did a good job, however in the past few years including today I always have to follow up with their office to make sure we are on the schedule to have the septic pumped. Even with them confirming we are on the schedule. So, the scheduled day arrives and guess what, I have to call to ask where their driver might be & they say we were not on their schedule. This has happened three times! What a waste of my time! I will never use them again!

We have never owned a septic system prior to now. We called Rio Grande Septic to service our tank. We spoke with Deborah who scheduled us same day!. We had Jessie come out and he was awesome. These folks are the real deal and are VERY helpful and pleasant. They didn't nickle and dime us and price was exactly what was quoted. We are forever customers because of the great customer service we received.

We used Rio Grande Septic to perform an inspection prior to a home purchase. They discovered that the septic tank was degraded to the point where it needed replacing, and we used their quote to negotiate our home offer - so we were very pleased with that service. Fast forward to us moving in, we decided to use Rio Grande again for the replacement tank. They were very quick to schedule our service. The day of installation was off to a rough start, though, because the pumping personnel arrived first and informed me that they couldn’t pump unless the tank was dug out… so he grabbed a shovel and began digging, but then realized it was going to be too much work - so then I grabbed a shovel myself and helped. After 15 minutes or so he stopped and called his team, where it was clarified they were already on their way and just down the road with the appropriate digging equipment. The rest of the installation went smoothly and the team was really kind and educated me on the system throughout the installation. We will be using this company again in the future!

Jessie is incredible, we are new to the company because we just bought our home and the septic system had already been installed by Rio Grande Septic Systems. I can't speak to the quality of the install or the system itself but the service provided by Jessie both times has been ABOVE & BEYOND the call of duty. Our first was an emergency call over the weekend, our system had appeared to be overflowing. We called and Jesse quickly came to our rescue, he took time to answer all of our questions and actually teach us about our new system. We have a filter that we need to be checking and cleaning and he showed us the full down and dirty on how to maintenance our system. My husband and I felt completely educated and empowered after Jessie very patiently walked us through the entire system.
The next call involved my concern regarding the lid that didn't appear to be holding correctly. Jessie quickly offered to come over to our house and adjust it for us so we can feel completely confident... same day service! THANK YOU JESSE, YOU ARE A ROCK STAR & will always be our first call!
I should also say that the lovely woman who answers the phone has also been extremely kind, patient and efficient... I am sorry I didn't catch her name but I am a huge fan of polished, warm and efficient folks!

Had Rio Grande Septic Systems out today to pump our tank. Shawn B. and another gentleman were quick, efficient, and got the job done. They discussed several issues with me while they worked and were friendly through the process. Nobody is ever excited to have their septic system pumped, but at least I found a good company to continue using! I recommend them to anyone else looking to improve their septic capabilities.

These guys care about doing great work. Our residential septic system failed, and Shawn and his crew were very responsive, did quality work and got us set up at a reasonable cost. We even had problems with an unconnected line we didn’t know anything about two weeks after the initial install, and they returned and connected it quickly after asking for their help again. Highly recommend Rio Grande Septic your septic needs!

We have an aging septic system at our family house in the Abq NE Heights that is nearing the end of it's lifespan and we needed help figuring out what to do. We did a little research with our HOA to find a couple companies that have done work in our area. After doing a little due-diligence we realized there was a wide range of experiences with some of these companies so we were a cautious on who to contact. Last month, we talked with a few friends and got glowing recommendations to reach out to Sean at Rio Grande septic and we couldn't have been happier with our experience. After leaving a message for Sean, he called back within the hour to my initial call. I explained our issue and questions and also my own personal schedule constraints to meet him on-site. Sean put me in touch with Lou, the office manager & coordinator. Lou was very responsive and quickly found a time within days for Sean to meet me at a time that worked for my tight schedule. Sean arrived at our house early and had already begun to formulate a diagnosis before our meeting started. He approached our system with a consultative eye looking at the tank, drain field, topography, and adjacent property constraints. Sean diagnosed the issues with our system and talked through a number of possible approaches. I was very impressed with his owner's mindset and ability to put himself in our shoes as homeowners. Sean talked with us at length about each option and helped us understand the impacts and likely costs of each scenario. In the end, we made a decision on next steps that were right for us. There was NO charge at all for Sean's site visit or his consulting expertise. We were very impressed with Rio Grande Septic through every step of our experience. Lou and Sean were professional, responsive, knowledgeable, helpful, and most of all just nice people. We have a few months before we will move forward with next steps on our septic system, but no question we will go back to Sean and Lou and Rio Grande Septic.

Shawn and team installed a new septic system at our home, and it is working well so far. Shawn is very responsive - He always calls back quickly and wants to make sure that everything is working correctly. Highly recommend - 5 Stars.

Purchased our home June 2022 knowing the septic needed to be redone. The previous homeowner had a quote from Rio Grande Septic and agreed to pay for it in the home deal. We contracted Rio Grande Septic to complete later in 2022. It was important we were told dates of work due to running a business from our home. Dates were changed without notice- they didn't show up and I had to call for 2 days to see when they would be coming. The septic tank works fine but scheduling the agreements of cleaning the filter again were difficult to coordinate and have them show up when they said. For 2 years we have called and asked a few times why it still smells like sewer and were told that the chemicals need to accumulate and begin to break down as this is how septic works. I called again a few months ago and said the smell was unacceptable and asked if anything can be done- they advised I could buy bio active enzyme treatment. I did this and nothing changed. I called again and they said that it should not smell and nothing could be done. I asked if we could bury the lids to septic and was advised no -due to vent on the septic lid.
I called a separate local septic company who replaced the lids on our system within 5 days of my call and resolved the problem of smell that I was advised was unfixable by Rio Grande Septic. Two years of crap smell because they did not know or care to advise that the lids could be sealed and buried. Unacceptable.

Follow up from 2 days ago. Service technician Andy arrived on time and got the job done. He called before he got here. Andy was very polite and easy to talk to. Thank you Andy. I recommend Rio Grande Septic Systems and service technician Andy.

Our septic stopped working properly. (Very Slow drain). We had had the tank pumped 2 months ago. Called Rio Grand Septic Systems Monday. Service guy came out Tuesday to see what the problem was. I was not able to be there when he arrived, but he looked at it and called me. Said too much toilet paper and did need another pump out. We had not added any enzymes when it was pumped out 2 months ago. That may have contributed to the problem. Scheduled a pumped out for Friday when I can be there. I have used them before. They are always courteous. I will leave a follow up for Fridays septic tank pumped out.

I Went by their office off 528 twice and told them I that I would like to use their services to install a new septic in my recently built barn in Placitas. I was told that Shawn would contact me, well, after visiting the office twice in a month nobody has reached out to me. I guess I should stop trying them and move on to the next company.

These guys CRUSH! #1 They answer the phone and the staff is super nice. #2 They got me an appointment within a couple of days #3 The technician that came out was super friendly and knowledgeable #4 Lou is the best, she helped me get out of a bind. Thanks for being so accommodating. EVEN MORE STARS: The system that they installed over 20 years ago is still doing it's thing and running like a champ--zero issues. I would recommend anyone looking for excellent service to call Rio Grande Septic Systems--they actually value the customer right in front of them. THANK YOU!
