Remodeler reviews across the US

JDB remodeled all 3 bathrooms, plus laundry room, in our 1960’s home in Shoreline. Lisa and Reed walked us through the design process, making creative choices within the space constraints. Simon’s value engineering comparisons clarified our choices. The planning and workmanship during construction were excellent. When a few problems arose, as is inevitable in remodeling, JDB stepped up to work with us to find solutions. We chose to stay in the house during the 6-month project, quite a savings. Sharing the house with JDB’s folks was surprisingly smooth, and they worked hard to keep us comfortable. We are delighted with the results, and look forward to calling on Josh, Mollie, Chris, Michael, Kelvin, and company for our future projects.

We had a very positive experience working with Josh and his team at Jackson Design Build are we started to explore who we wanted to move forward with our project. They were kind, clear, responsive, professional, and respectful. Our situation changed and we did not move forward with the project how we initially planned, but our interactions with Josh left us confident that their partnership would have been a strong one. We would happily encourage anyone thinking of working with them to reach out.

After meeting with several design build firms, we knew we had to go with Jackson Design Build, and I am SO glad we did - Every interaction was professional, positive, warm, friendly, supportive, and honest. I never felt like we were being upsold - In fact, the team frequently helped us land on better solutions to fit our budget without sacrificing quality. We were able to share our priorities upfront and have our values and vision honored and respected through the entire process.
We lived in the house with kids and a dog while having a staircase added, losing a bedroom, and experiencing the daily sights and sounds of a full basement remodel - Being with the JDB team was our daily life for these months, and we genuinely enjoyed getting to know them. The team went out of their way to accommodate our family needs and keep our house feeling like home as much as possible. And the finished results - WOW. I can't believe this is our house. The newly remodeled areas blend beautifully with the character of our 1948 home, the details are so polished, and the layout flows with ease for our active family.
After years of planning and saving and wondering if we could pull this off, I'm so delighted that JDB made our dreams a reality and let us collaborate and learn from them along the way. Everything from their design process to their pricing model to the crews they bring in to do the hard work - Jackson Design Build's integrity and expertise won us over and we'll be recommending them to all our friends and neighbors! -
We hired Jackson Design Build for a major remodel of our 1908 Phinney Ridge bungalow, and they exceeded our expectations in every way. We originally met them at the Seattle Home and Garden show and selected them based on their expertise with vintage Seattle homes.
They did a full main floor remodel of our home, including new kitchen & bathroom and new hardwood floors, plus a downstairs laundry remodel and conversion of unfinished basement space into a hobby room.Their designer Lisa was great! She has an excellent aesthetic sense and really took the time to listen to us and understand our style, resulting in a home that we have been delighted with.
Communication was fantastic throughout. They kept us informed and their project lead Chris took the time to get our opinion on decisions while construction was underway. They also finished the project on time. They promised we’d move in before Thanksgiving and we moved in literally the day before! -
Outstanding experience from start to finish
We couldn’t be happier working with Jackson Design Build. From our first meeting through project completion, they exceeded our expectations in every way.
The team itself was the real standout. Everyone we worked with was collaborative, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in getting things right. You could tell they cared deeply about their craft, and it showed in every interaction. These are smart, capable people who brought great ideas to the table while always respecting our vision.
This was especially important to us because we had a unique space, as many old Seattle houses are, and needed creativity along the way to get it done. On top of that, when you have people coming into your home everyday for months, the people really matter. By the end, we felt Oliver was not just someone we worked with but a great friend.
What really impressed us was their communication and project management. Renovations are stressful (especially living through it!), and we had busy schedules, but Jackson Design Build kept us on track without being pushy. Lisa was incredible because she gave us clear guidance on what decisions needed to be made and when, which took so much pressure off our shoulders. We always knew where things stood and what was coming next.
If you’re looking for a contractor who delivers beautiful work while making the process as smooth as possible, I can’t recommend Jackson Design Build highly enough. -
It has been 7+ months back in my house since Jackson Design Build finished work on my bump-out addition and whole house refresh and I am so pleased with how everything turned out.
I started working with JDB in 2024 and right from the start they impressed me with how respectful they were of my space and how they were able to listen and translate what I wanted into concrete plans. Most of 2024 was spent in the design phase and working with Lisa was a joy! She understood my style well and was able to find great solutions for the problem areas in my home. She suggested meaningful changes and improvements while not going overboard with choices that didn’t fit my aesthetic or needs.
Construction took place over the first half of 2025 and while there were a few small issues that were discovered and a few change orders, on the whole the process went much smoother than I was anticipating. Michael, my lead carpenter, was excellent and explaining where the team was in the processes and answered any questions I had. I especially appreciated that he and Chris kept things running smoothly so I never felt like I needed to be on-site all the time, I could trust JDB to take care of everything, which made the whole process way less stressful than it might have been otherwise.
Construction completed in about 6.5 months and I love my house now. I am so impressed with the craftsmanship and attention to detail that went into my house. Even though the original house was built in the 1950’s, the JDB team did a great job of making sure everything feels cohesive with the new addition and yet still fits the mid-century details of the house I like.
I was incredibly impressed by the professionalism of Josh and the whole JDB team. I have no regrets about working with them, they eliminated a lot of stress from the process. Living in my renovated house, I just wish I had made the updates sooner. -
I really tried to use this business, but after waiting two months for a phone call, the Rep. told me that she wasn't interested in my project to remodel a small bathroom and small kitchen with my $150, 000. budget before appliances. She said, they usually charge much more for a kitchen and a bath. I was really disappointed, especially since my work would have needed no outside financing. All my other estimated have come in around $100,000.00 and they were all willing to come to my fabulous little house overlooking downtown Seattle.

I'm an architect that has worked with Gaspar's Construction on several occasions. They are very professional, organized, and always make my design work look great - bridging the gap between design and construction.

Gaspar's did great work repairing the decks on my home. Collin was thorough and friendly and ensured that I had high quality work without exceeding what was necessary and cost efficient. This was greatly appreciated.

We used Gaspar Services for a french door installation replacement for a deck slider. Johnny was referred to us by Home Depot. Excellent service, attention to detail and he and crew cleaned up dust and debris at every step of the process. Would use them again in a heartbeat.

Gaspar's did a great job with my living area remodel. Communication was always on point, and John did amazing and detailed work, even putting in hours on the weekends to make sure that the project was completed exactly on time!

John came out on Friday and quickly figured out the problem (it was the toilet not the shower that was leaking) and got all the prep work done before the plumber arrived so they could get the repair done quickly. He patched things up and made arrangements for Jameison to come Monday after things dried to sand, texture and paint. Jameison arrived on Monday and quickly got the finishing work done and even asked if we needed anything else done and patched up another small hole in another room for me, leaving it paint ready for me to finish off. Both John and Jameison were careful not to make too much mess and cleaned up nicely so I was not left with any cleanup to do when they left. We were really pleased to be able to get this taken care of so quickly and professionally.

I have a door that is jamming due to water getting in under the threshold when it rains (does not jam when it's not raining). I called Gaspar's explaining the situation on how the the door was fine, and this was not an issue with the door itself. The account manager then told me that they will come to evaluate the door, asked what material it was made of, etc....completely ignoring the point I had made about it not being the door itself. I just felt like I was not being heard and decided to not move forward with this company.

Michael was great. Professional and courteous. Gaspar's hourly rate of well over over $100/hr. is grossly high but we got the job done. Thank you Michael for being so easy to work with.

It's been almost a year since we've completed our home remodel. It was major renovation, went down to 3 walls & added square footage. We hired Gaspar's Construction to do the work. With all the horror stories we hear about construction companies, cost & timelines, we were concerned. However, the team at Gaspar's were the utmost professionals. We had weekly in-person meetings to discuss the timelines, talk about any new items & the work for the following week. We also got weekly cost reports. People said our project would take 12-18 months. It was 6 months. Gaspar's quoted us an end date. We had to push the date out by 4 days & we knew about it 3 months in advance! Their design team was fabulous too. We learned a ton. Got a beautiful, dream-come-true home. Every day we look around the house & smile. Thank you Gaspar's. The only negative thing, we miss them!!!

We booked Gaspars for a day of handy-man services, and after one reschedule on their part, they sent out Gabe. Who. Is. Awesome. Super friendly guy, and so good at what he does! In a single day he trimmed out an archway, hung a heavy punching bag, and patched a big hole in our garage ceiling, including taping. He pulled his van back up the garage and worked out of that and our garage floor. He managed to do in a day what would have taken us weeks to get done between work and parenting, and to a much higher standard. Was it expensive? Yes. Worth it? HECK YES. I'm already thinking of other projects I will ask them to help me knock off the list.

Rain was leaking into my garden shed from the roof. Carlos diagnosed and repaired the leaks, which were coming from a number of different sources and were tricky to diagnose. His problem solving skills, experience, and professionalism are outstanding. He is one of the reasons I am a Gaspar Handyman Services customer.

We just remodeled 2 of our bathrooms with Gaspar's. The project was done on time (despite us adding on some work to the master bedroom to the original plan partway through), and was a bid price (plus cost of the add-ons we did), so coming in on-budget wasn't an issue for us. The quality of the work is high, and we're really enjoying our new spaces. The price is probably a bit higher than others might charge, but you do get what you pay for-- quality construction and finishes done on time.
We could easily stay in touch with our site manager (and the rest of the Gaspar's team) via email and text, so it was very convenient to communicate with them about potential changes, issues, etc.
Gaspar's also helped us with the design process, helping us choose materials and doing drawings of how the new spaces would look, tile layouts, etc.
They did a great job of keeping the rest of the house as clean and undisturbed as possible during the construction, and the construction area itself was always clean at the end of the day. -
Update: Gaspar's responded to my concerns, sending out Latif (handyman manager) to ensure the faucet installation was completed to my satisfaction. I appreciate the attention they gave to ensure good customer service.
I booked a service call to replace three bathroom faucets and one towel bar that I supplied. Time estimate was one day or less. Handyman showed up without all the necessary tools, plumbers putty, and silicone; and evidently had limited experience with installing faucets. $1200 later, one faucet was installed without replacing the drain (no putty), one towel bar was installed, and two sinks were left with faucets removed but not replaced, so are unusable. I had to pay for more than an hour for the handyman to drive to Lowe's to purchase a tool that he then kept. Handyman services booking out for several weeks so no idea when the job might be completed -- or how much more I would need to pay. -
We had an excellent experience with the Gaspar's team renovating our kitchen and bath. The team was detail oriented, responsive, and delivered on all their promises. The design, project management, construction, and outcome all surpassed our expectations.

We highly recommend Gaspar's Construction for remodeling projects. Our remodel was on time and on schedule. As in most remodels, unexpected issues come up. Gaspar's very up front about additional costs and/or alternatives. In addition, the fact that most of the sub contractors on our project have been working with Gaspar's for at least 10 years bodes well for all.
