This review is specific to the quoting process as our basement remodel project is currently in progress. The first step in the process was meeting with Luke, the owner, to discuss the general vision of the project. During this initial meeting, Luke listened intently to our needs and provided many suggestions for us to consider as well as explaining how his company operates. Very quickly after the initial meeting, Luke provided an initial quote, broken down by cost per room, with a proposed floor plan and room renderings. In comparison to the other six companies that we had received different versions of quotes from, Luke’s level of attentiveness, communication skills, professionalism, quality of deliverables and the speed in which he turned around changes is what set him apart from the others. Even before we decided to choose his company, Luke was happy to answer any questions we had. We are excited to see how the project progresses and are confident that we have chosen the best company to do the work.

Working with Luke was a great experience! We had gotten a few quotes and timelines and went with Luke. Communication was great throughout the project and all subcontractors were respectful of our space and professional. Timeline was accurate and we have been loving our new basement with no issues!

Luke did an amazing job on our basement. He was able to bring our design ideas to life and even suggested some great ones himself. Luke was also easy and quick to communicate with and he had his own team of electricians, plumbers, and HVAC so we didn’t need to schedule anything ourselves. Morne did a great job with the framing which is the foundation of everything that comes after. He worked with us to finalize the wall locations and found solutions to all the quirks of an unfinished basement. The painters, electrician, and HVAC crews were also exceptional to work with. The entire experience from start to finish was excellent. We had interviewed multiple companies to finish our basement, and Berry was well prepared, professional, and honest with their pricing. It was around a 1200 square foot project, so it was a rather large event.

We had some ideas as to what we wanted, but when we were unsure as to the right selection, Berry was right there with great suggestions based on their previous experience. They are great with communication throughout the entire project and honest when there are any delays. In our case, there were very few and the project went very smoothly. They even offered to paint a few places in our kitchen where there had been some drywall repairs. Not part of the project, but indicative of their professionalism and their motto that the first thing they build is trust. I had a unique basement remodeling request for extra soundproofing, a dance room, and an under stairs storage unit. Luke was easily able to accommodate and adjust my quote as we went along. While our requests did increase the final quote, it was still less than other contractor quotes we received.
