I have made at least 5 trips to the convenience center over the last couple weeks, during the hours of 11am-1:45 pm and they have been closed everytime. Seems like if the city advertises open hrs are till 3pm, they would provide provisions to be able to be open that long. ??? The employees are very nice and helpful, just wish they could stsy open as advertised. Very frustrating. ..

Its Ridiculous. My Trash Is Pilled Sky High.
& This Is The 2nd Week They Have Skipped Me.
Our City Needs Better Employees From What I See.

To All:
The Murfreesboro Solid Waste department office is where you will go to purchase additional trash cans and or drop off Tree limbs and leaves. The new location is as follows: 4765 Florence Road , Murfreesboro, Tn. 37129 it is Not at 630 west Main Street any longer.
Also the Google maps shows the address as 468 west Main Street this is Murfreesboro City Convenience Center for household garbage drop off !!!

I do my very best to recycle but the City of Murfreesboro Solid Waste Departmet makes it almost impossible. This place is open only three days a week (not joking) and for at least the 10th time this place is closed on one of the days is suppose to be OPEN!! I called the department directly and they just gave me some round about reason on “its full........ again.”. Didn’t even say sorry or apologize or anything. I would imagine with so many 1 and 1.5 star ratings for the waste centers and the department head quarters somebody would try to change something for the better that might work for its citizens. So glad my tax dollars are going to this hard working department.

If I can give him a zero I would! I can't believe that this company won't take 3 seconds to pick up a trash bag that they knocked over and just leave it in the middle of the street! That does not show good workmanship.... It just shows you how sloppy they are that's how they probably live at their homes......SMH

Not very nice. I will advise that when you move your entire house to this area when they collect that garbage, make sure when you schedule pick up of boxes and everything else your move is packed in once you've emptied everything because they will only pick up that stuff ONCE. The lady that answered the phone the day I called let me know and when I said I didn't know I heard her mock me repeating "Oh she didn't know" before hanging up. I tell you if I knew I would of known I may have reconsidered even buying a house in this town. Very rude customer service.

I flew into town, and specifically rented a small pick up truck from Hertz at the airport in Nashville. The reason for doing so was to haul boxes of cardboard and trash that had been collected from packages delivered to our house over the last month. Apparently, this rental truck is still new, and has a temporary commercial tag on it. Moron told me I could not dump my trash there. I explained to him that I pay taxes both city and county and could show them my drivers license, and this was obviously waste from my home. He said he did not care. Taxes should be much lower, if we have idiots like this working at our facilities. It’s embarrassing.

They want you to keep your property clean, but are open only 3 days a week. Plus last time I called in they were rude to me. If I could have rated a 0 i would have. We pay taxes and now half the stuff they used to pick up they won't anymore. This is why I moved to Murfreesboro. Free trash pickup and they used to pick up more things than they do now. If I knew this was going to happen I would have moved right outside the city limits. At least your not stuck with city and county taxes ,and Murfreesboro taxes if they are going to start charging for everything and won't pick up hardly anything, what's the point in living in the city.

What a rude unprofessional guy. I think the truck is number 268. Dumps trash all over the road (on many occasions) and leaves it in the road! Will remove trash AND THROW IN A YARD rather than putting it the trash truck. I’ve seen this when he stops at my house and at other houses! If you can get out to THROW something into someone’s yard then you can get out and pick up the trash YOU DROPPED EVERYWHERE out of the road.

The recycling center was inexplicably closed during their already very limited operating hours (1pm on a Friday, not during a holiday). No sign was posted outside to indicate that they were full, and the bins didn't appear to be full from what I could see from the road. I had another similar experience several months ago. If you plan on dropping off your recyclables here, definitely call ahead every time to make sure they are open.

Absolutely the worst company ever. We had one thing not in a bag sitting at the top and the driver skips us completely. Skips us regularly just because my husband called him out for doing a horrible job. Not reliable at all! Hiring a private trash company now and I will be writing our congressman!

Horrible. I mean just terrible. They don't empty the cans fully. I have a medical reason as to why I can't pull a heavy trash can back to my yard after they don't empty it. I call to complain and was told someone would come the next day. Of course no one did. Then on top of that, they can apparently look in the can to see if you have cardboard in there and empty that onto your lawn, but can't ensure that regular trash is emptied from the can?!!! I do NOT recommend this company. I can't wait to move from here. Memphis trash service was so much better!!!!

For a rapidly growing city the pride they take in their work is not there!

My trash cans were both left WELL INTO THE LANE OF TRAFFIC!!! Had it caused an accident im sure it would have been my fault!

They did not pick up my garbage the week before Christmas (It was within Policy standard). Checked today (Garbage day) and their are still two bags at the bottom of the can.

Called their number, no one is answering at the office and it says they are open on facebook/'google. The Garbage drivers also will not get out of the truck to do their job. Over all the service is subpar and unprofessional.

Absolutely disgraceful the way these trucks operate. I understand there are a lot of homes and they have to work fairly quickly. However, that doesn’t mean you should allow the standard of the service to lack.

Today is the 15th time they haven’t taken all of my garbage. At least 1+ bag left in the bottom. Not to mention I had put a smaller cardboard box in that was taped up. This morning I wake up to find the box has been thrown on the ground and the contents scattered across the street. They didn’t care to stop and clean up the mess they made.

Wish I could add pictures to show what a terrible job they’ve done. My tax dollars hard at work I see.

Refuse to pickup my trash claiming it’s overflowing, but leaves the neighborhood looking like this after dumping an overflowed trashcan.

Some people think because they work for the government, they can treat or talk to others the way they want. There is this lady at the office answering call, her name is Veronica, she is so unprofessional and rud. The city has to filter people with that kind of behavior out of the system.

My husband cut down one of our trees and dragged all the limbs up to the front yard for pickup. This man who picked it up just a few minutes ago went above and beyond in my opinion. After using the crane he got down and raked the stragglers up to get it all. Thank you!

We do not stuff our can or have it overflowing but about a third of the time it’s left with trash in it and about only half empty. Other times the can is laying on its side in addition the sides of the can have been split. Further, the time of pickup can range from 6am to as late as 2 pm. I’ve noticed that if the truck is rushed the operator makes No effort to ensure he gives the can time for everything to fall out and it ends up on the ground and just left.

A gem in Murfreesboro Great customer service. Always a great selection of healthy plants to browse and bring home.

I have absolutely love shopping here ever since moving to Murfreesboro this is has been my place to go for any and I mean any plants needs!!!!!
