Reviews of local pros in Alice, Texas

Paid them over $500 and they never produced 3 pallets of grass. Its been 6 days and They never responded and the place is closed. So much for going local.

Called several times to get a quote. Was told the owner would call me back, which he never did. Was then they told he’d come by our property to give me a quote, which he never did. I’d like to support new businesses, but they don’t seem ready just yet.

have driven an hour three times in the last week and it has been closed DURING business hours/voicemail is full so unable to leave a message or speak to anyone. I understand times are hard at the moment in the pandemic but can we be updated on what is going on or if this business is still in operation. I was coming to pick something up I saw just two weeks ago when i HAPPENED to show up and they were actually open.

Michael And his crew replaced our sidewalk and installed a new sidewalk. They also installed a limestone landscape edge. His crew did a outstanding job. We have many more future projects for them.. Thank you Landscape guy for the great work you did for us....Happy Holidays!!!!

The Landscape Guy has been great to work with. I needed several big projects done around the house and he's pulled through on all of it. Honest and transparent estimates. On time and professional. Very easy to communicate with. Will be doing business with for all my landscape needs.

My husband and I recently purchased a home in Sandia and I reached out to Michael to trim/cut trees and do our lawn. We are very pleased with the work he and his team has done. So much so he will be doing much more work for us around our property. He and his team are very friendly, professional, on time, with good pricing.

All I can say is, WOW. Michael Rivera, the owner of The Landscape Guy & Nursery Company, just completed a job for LandNTexas in Jim Wells County, and he did a fantastic job for us. He came out, provided us with a quote on-site, and completed the job in just 10 days. We are looking forward to working with him on our next landscape project.

We have tried on three different occasions to shop here. Their hours on google did not match the store hours. I have requested an edit but until they are edited I’ve attached a photo. Seems they are more focused on landscape business than retail.

I’ve done two projects with TLG and they did a great job on both. They will get the job done as promised and will make sure the customer is happy. They don’t cut corners like other contractors. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.

I’ve used Michael and the TLG crew twice and overall I’ve been pleased with the job. I’m going to list the pros and cons that I have seen with their work.
PROS: These guys are very hard workers and do a great job of giving you what you want. They are honest and show up on time and work until the job is done. Michael has some really good design ideas. He really tries to work within your budget. I’ve had many compliments on my yard.
CONS: They don’t always know the proper way to plant things. I had an oak tree they planted 3 years ago and a large Crepe Myrtle, sod and fence recently installed. Both trees were planted too deep with the root ball completely buried several inches below the surface which causes health issues with the trees throughout their lives. The crepe myrtle and the new sod both had fungal disease. The oak tree has been looking bad lately. I had an arborist come out to examine the problems I was seeing and that is how I found out all this. Also they installed a double gate on my fence that started sagging just 2 weeks after it was installed and the gate latch in the middle of the double gate is so tight it rubs against the wood and is hard to open. I’m now in the process of having to treat and remedy these issues.
To be perfectly upfront I did not call Michael to ask him to correct anything so I don’t know how he would have responded but my trust in his knowledge of these issues is lacking so I’d rather deal with it myself. I would still recommend them but I would definitely first educate myself on the plants and trees you want installed and look for signs of improper planting and disease.

As a paying customer, I am highly disappointed by the complete lack of response to my repeated attempts to contact you. Given the significant investment I made, I expected a higher level of professionalism and customer service.

I have contacted you via phone, text, and Facebook without any acknowledgment or follow-up. This lack of communication is unacceptable especially as a business owner.

This is not how a business owner should conduct business or handle customers. You should do better and communicate effectively with the people who pay for your services. Do not contact me again — I no longer want or appreciate your business nor will I ever refer your company.

I’m thrilled with how the landscaping came out! I love my front yard so much now. The last picture was the yard before.

Michael and his team are excellent. Michael is clearly passionate about landscaping and had a great vision for how he hoped to beautify our yard. He did the utmost to deliver everything we wanted and more. We have had two major projects with TLG and look forward to working with them again for our backyard.

I love coming to this nursery! The customer service is very welcoming and friendly. They have a great selection of healthy, beautiful plants, and the whole place is always clean, organized, and really well-kept. You can tell they take pride in what they do. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re looking for quality plants and excellent customer service!
