Tom and his crew led by Omar provided an incredible service from start to finish. My wife and I were dreading the cost and hassle of getting our homes foundation repaired. We called five different companies and had each of them provide a free estimate.

Company one came in and told us we needed 40 piers around the entire house at a cost of $18,500. Company two came in and said the movement in our house scared him and he didn’t even quote us. Companies three and four were just as pricey as company one.

I recently noticed some cracks in the walls of my home. So I scheduled several foundation companies to come out, evaluate my foundation and provide me with estimates for any work. Tom Dodson, the owner of Dodson Foundation Repair, was my second appointment of the day. Within 5 minutes of stepping inside, Tom told me that based upon his many years of experience, he was able to tell immediately that there was no work that he would recommend at this time. While this may seem a little presumptuous, let me add that when I first contacted Dodson Foundation Repair to schedule the appointment, Tom spent a good deal of time with me on the phone. During that conversation, he tried to educate me on things to look for and questions to ask of the various foundation companies which I had an interest working with. From that conversation, I formed the impression that Tom is an honest and ethical businessman who is genuinely interested to helping people (not just as customers). Additionally, the appointment prior to Tom's, that company performed their assessment and was not recommending any foundation work either. Surprisingly, after Tom told me he didn't think I need foundation work and I told him that that was also the conclusion the other foundation company, Tom asked to me to do the courteous thing and cancel the other appointments I had scheduled for the rest of the day. He suggested that I would be freeing up those other appointments, so that those other companies could potentially help people who might actually need foundation work. Honestly, I just thought that was a really cool mindset to take. So if and when I do need foundation work done, Dodson Foundation Repair will be one of the first companies I call.

I've been experiencing what I thought was foundation problems. Note: I did have some work done in 2016 & 2017. The company which had done my previous work wanted to come into my home and dig up the floor in a couple of places. Tom Dodson came out, did a complete inspection, and determined that my foundation is just fine and what I was experiencing was a crown problem, due to our wonderful Texas soils. Mr. Dodson is extremely professional, his guys were beyond hard workers who really respected my property and did a great job of getting my landscaping back to where it was after the job was over. The best thing I can say is that Mr. Dodson saved us over $9,000 compared to another estimate that we had, we had a lot of work done on our home, but Tom found a way to do it the right way and saved us a fortune in the end. Tom is an honest man, I feel like the few bad reviews that he has were by miscommunication between the homeowner and Tom. Very friendly and honest! I have an outside door that was sticking and was concerned that I had a major foundation issue. I called Mr. Dodson and made an appointment for him to came out to look at it. After inspecting the issue, Mr. Dodson said pier installation wasn't needed. Tom showed up on time and was very professional. He explain the different variance of measurements that he would be looking for. We walked the outside of my house and looked for signs of movement. I had such a wonderful experience with Tom. He was referred to me by a friend who had glowing recommendations for him. I called Dodson Foundation Repair for a free inspection of our foundation. I was concerned because of some interior cracks especially around the windows. Tom called to let me know he was on his way. We recently finished an extensive whole house reno. One of the new toilets would not flush. Our GC sent out a company to tunnel under our foundation and diagnose the problem. After they determined that the drain pipe had settled, they had to replace it with a new one that had more fall to the main sewer line. Once the pipe repairs were finished, they manually put dirt back in the tunnel. Our concern was if the foundation under that bathroom had shifted due to the trench.

I heard high praise from my sister and brother-in-law about Tom's quality of work and honesty so I called him to take a look at my foundation, especially, around the front porch. I have a couple of brick archways over my porch that have significant cracks and before repairing I wanted an honest assessment of the soundness of my foundation. Tom did his measurements and assured me that my entire foundation including the front porch was easily within tolerance and was not needing repair. I asked him for an estimate of putting piers under the porch anyway and the price he gave me was hands down the best price I have received for similar work, but he emphasized it was unnecessary. In the future, Tom Dodson will be the first and only person I will call for possible foundation work.

Backing up the reviews already posted here, Tom just left our house this morning and it is a major relief to know that good people are available to us in an industry that can be shady at times. Bottom line, we need NO foundation repair and he was more than happy to let me know that was the case.

Mr. Dodson examined our property, taking measurements of variations of elevation levels at the corners of our home, and found those elevations to be perfectly normal...and showed me those levels on the device he was using as he did it! As was said on other reviews, he genuinely seemed to enjoy educating the homeowner as he did the analysis.

I tried to give Mr. Dodson cash for his visit and evaluation of my property telling him that time is money and he is owed something. He would not take it - told me to take my wife to dinner instead. Find that anywhere else in any other industry and if you do find it, please let me know so that I can add that person to my shortlist of providers that I trust.

1. His lifetime guarantee on any work performed is built into his company insurance meaning that the homeowners are each part of his annual insurance audit and covered by his work into perpetuity. This level of commitment is excellent.

2. Contrary to what you may read about other foundation companies, Mr. Dodson will warranty his work as it relates to any plumbing issues caused by any work he has performed. Again, this stood out as unique from my research of other companies.
