Tree reviews in Allen, Texas

BEWARE: This company is horrible at communicating with its customers. When I first called, Derek came over that day to give me an estimate. I texted Derek the following day to let him know that we're interested in using his service, but I received no response. I then texted him the following morning and asked, "Are you interested in trimming our tree?" but again NO RESPONSE! The following week, I called him and he said that he would do it either Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning. He NEVER showed up nor bothered to call me back. This is very unprofessional and not the type of company that I would want to do business with.

Lumberjack is absolutely the BEST tree service company in DFW!
Derek and his crew are very professional, polite, and friendly. Derek didn’t leave before he made sure that we were 100% happy with his work.
They provided excellent customer service at an affordable price. Thank you so much!!!

Update: We had Lumberjack Tree Service out to our place again because, well..trees grow! Last winter when we had a bit of ice the weight of it caused the tree to drag across the roof when the wind blew. It was a long night. Derek’s guys came out and removed the lower parts of the branches that were positioned over the roof so we won’t need to worry about that any longer. They also removed the downward growing branches from the rest of the tree so we keep her facing skyward. She us a beautiful Oak Tree and we’d like to keep her strong and healthy. We also have a Bradford Pear that is trying to die on us. I wanted to cut it way back to see if we could get a few more years out of her and the crew did an awesome job keeping her looking descent while removing a bunch of limb length without removing the entire limb. I was amazed. True artistry.

I was very concerned about the damage last year’s winter weather did to my Live Oak. Lumberjack Tree Service came by quickly and we made a plan to trim dead wood from 2 trees and remove a couple of Cypress that weren’t looking too happy. We also gave the Live Oak a boost of nutrients. The team was prompt and very thorough. They cleaned everything up - and that was a big deal! I believe their pricing is competitive regarding the tree trimming, but I didn’t check into the nutrient feed an I was just so pleased with everything being taken care of so quickly and professionally. With some luck we’ll have these trees for years to come!

The team came out and cut down two trees and trimmed up two trees in my backyard. The team was incredibly courteous and personable. The job was done with excellence and our backyard looks great! Derek, the owner, is one of the best guys you will meet.

Derek was very responsive. Made a call about a large tree spliting on Friday morning. A real person actually answered the phone. Derek came out Friday afternoon, evaluated the tree, gave me an estimate, and had the crew there on Saturday to complete the work and save the tree.

We needed some heavy pruning and reshaping on a tree in the front yard and Derek and crew did a flawless job. The tree is balanced now and the grass will get more light. They vacuumed up every scrap from the yard. Friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. We will call them again.

I had an 18" diameter Live Oak tree that was damaged so much in the extreme cold of Feb. 2021 that I decided it had to go after a year. Lumberjack Tree Service was the most responsive and gave me a competitive quote vs. 2 others. Derek sent a 3-man crew over to remove the tree and do deep stump grinding (so I could plant a garden there). The crew was extremely skilled, quick, and well-equipped. Their rope work was amazing. The tree was next to a fence and had a crepe myrtle beneath and neither was damaged at all after the removal. The large remote controlled stump grinder did a great job. They cleaned everything really well and left me with some nice mulch as requested. The online billing and payment process was quick and easy. I was thoroughly impressed with the whole operation- they are true professionals. I would not hesitate to use Lumberjack Tree Service again.

Derrick and his crew were amazing! I called Derrick and he came out the next day, met with my boyfriend and put a plan and estimate together and then called his tree guys in to get started. They trimmed our 3 mature trees and they look amazing. They also removed 3 dead trees and plan to come back and plant new ones as well as remove a stump that another tree company said they couldn’t take care of. All at a very affordable price! I highly recommend Lumberjack!

Amazing tree transformation! Thank you so much!!! Easy to work with, very detailed, professional, knowledgeable, and kind. We will always use your services and 100% recommend to friends and family! Thank you!!

Return customer! I am always impressed with Derek and his team at Lumberjack Tree Service. So professional and they do a beautiful job. Kept me informed throughout the process and provided a thorough cleanup afterwards. They did such a great job on my trees at my previous house in Garland that I called him again when I moved to Anna.

The owner Derek Herbert gave us a professional quote to trim a very over grown pecan tree in back yard and remove a partially dead sweet gum tree with roots showing. His expertise as an arborist and his great reviews influenced us choosing his company. They came out the same week. We are very pleased with the way the jobs were carried out. They removed all debris. They set up a different day to grind stump & remove tree roots.
Lumberjack tree service is trustworthy and truly cares. Quality work!

Derek and his crew came out and removed a big tree for us in our front yard and was highly professional and very effective and also came and removed our stump! We will definitely use them again and would recommend the business to anyone !

Derek and team did a great job removing 2 oak trees and grinding the stumps. They were very competitive with their prices and left my yard clean from debris.

Lumberjack came in and did my house wonders!! Derek and his team guided me through the whole thing, advising me on what’s best. As a new home owner in Texas, I couldn’t of have asked for a better company to tend to my needs. Strongly recommended.

New info 7/2024: Live Oak had a cross branch that needed to be cut, and it was big. Derrick told me it would leave a hole, but to trust him. Good thing I did! It looks great now, 2 years later. The tree is full and balanced.

Repeat Customer! Derek did a lot of work on my trees at the end of last summer, when everything still had leaves and they looked great. For the Spring, my big Chinese Pistachio needed more crown thinning so that we can get grass under it. He also cleaned up a Fig tree that had been severely damaged by weather. Everything looks great and he and his crew are easy to work with. He really listens to concerns and offers excellent suggestions.

First review: Prompt, professional, nice crew. The price is appropriate for the level of skill and quality of work.
Derrick has an eye for detail and he respected my expectations to keep my trees very natural looking. The result is that my trees are absolutely beautiful, and you would never know they had just been trimmed!

They also did a hard cut back on 3 out of control vitex and they look like respectable members of the garden again. They picked up every last twig, including piles I had made earlier in the summer. Derrick came back the next day to look everything over and be sure I was satisfied before I paid him.

You have seen trees that are scarred, gashes cut in the side, naked limbs, or even the tops cut off! Don't trust your beautiful trees to people who do that. Call Derrick, your neighbors and trees will thank you!

We had an old dying pecan tree growing in between our garage and chain link fence. Derek’s crew did an amazing job!!! Unfortunately our neighbor put a stop to the process when the cutting got close to the fence, God will deal with him no doubt. The crew that performed the work were awesome left the place cleaner than it was when they arrived. Will use again am sure and definitely spread the word of the skillful, respectful crew! Thank you all for your service!

Efficiency, quality of work, and value - typically, you'll only receive one or two of these attributes with tree trimming services, but Derek and his team bat 1000 and knocked it out of the park. Look no further and book with Lumberjack Tree Service!

We were out of town when our neighbor called and said our huge American Elm had spit in two and fallen in the back yard. When we returned, we got 4 bids from various tree people. Not only was Lumberjack Tree Service the lowest bid, but they showed up on time with a crew of 6. Everyone knew their job and were proficient at it. They took this enormous tree down in 6-1/2 hours. It had a circumference of 8’. They did a great job of cleanup. We couldn’t be more pleased with their work and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needs tree service. They were great to work with.

Derek and his team recently, did a wonderful job thinning out and trimming, several large oak trees on our property. In addition he listened exactly to our request and delivered the finished product that we had hoped for! They were prompt, diligent, kind and extremely attentive to exceeding our objectives. I highly recommend lumberjack tree service. We are Murphy, TX, residents. If you want a true professional that knows what he's doing, then hire Derek. He is good man and runs a great business.

Derek and his crew removed a large Bradford Pear for me and did grind the stump. They were phenomenal. I highly, highly recommend them. They were professional, efficient, and made sure I was happy with their work. The crew works together well. I was very impressed with them.

Just happened to meet Mr. Hebert & his Team. They were able to trim 2 trees for me. His team was friendly, worked efficiently & skilled at what they do.
