Constraction reviews in Austin, Texas

It's been a decade-long dream to build a custom, studio pool for my underwater photography business. After working in many different types of pools in Texas and even around the world, I had a good idea of what I wanted for my own pool. I knew there was one company I could not only trust with my vision, but also take my vision and improve upon it – Modern DB. I met owners Jan and Keli back in 2012 when I photographed them in the most incredible backyard pool I've ever seen, to this day, that they designed and built. Seeing the quality of work they've done over the years since, my partner and I were eager to start the design process with them on our own pool this year.

From the start, we knew we were in good hands. Mike, their designer, met with us on site to talk through our vision and answer the lengthy list of questions we had. We expressed our desires for a multi-purpose pool – a studio pool to work in but also one we could enjoy at home and for entertainment.

When he and the Modern DB team presented the initial design just weeks later, we were blown away by their presentation! They took all of our musts, wants and wishes and showed us a design that exceeded our expectations. They came up with creative solutions for my studio needs and designed a beautiful oasis perfect for entertaining.

The renderings showed us every angle of the pool and landscaping, even underwater views, which was incredibly helpful for me to visualize the space I would be working in. They also showed views of the sun and shade on the pool at various times of the day which is also valuable information to me as a photographer.

I am so glad we worked with them on this process and can now confidently move forward with building our dream pool. Their ability to take our vision and turn it into a detailed, well-thought-out design was impressive and exactly what we were looking for. With such an important investment, I'm glad we chose to work with Modern DB.

Modern Pools did an amazing job of designing and building a custom pool in a sloping corner of our backyard that was not used. It is now the most used area of the backyard and it feels like an extension of our house. They managed the design, permitting, construction and installation of everything. Mike was great at managing the subcontractors and letting us know (and when necessary our neighbors) what was going on and what to expect next. It was completed about 18 months ago and we love it. We use it year round.

I could not be more pleased with the way my pool, patio and outdoor kitchen turned out. Mike and the rest of the team were a pleasure to work with and consistently demonstrated integrity and professionalism in their approach to business—something I rarely experience with construction projects.

Very very slow. What should take 2 weeks took 8 weeks.

I highly recommend using their contract services. They did work on my moms home and made safety recommendations and provided excellent work. Super easy to work with. They also sent pictures of progress and did walk throughs.

Jorge and his crew did a great job installing my new concrete patio and outdoor kitchen at my home and now I can't wait for football season to come back around! Highly recommend them.

Jorge has done a number of projects for me. Creating closets in my bedroom, painting and detailing my house to put on the market, and others. He is very good and easy to work with. I highly recommend.

Austin Fence Builders are responsive and do beautiful work. The fence was put up quickly and the team was very professional. Highly recommend.

Dylan and Paul were awesome to work with through the whole project. From scope changes, uncooperative ground and plumbing hazards, and record flooding, and they stayed flexible through the whole project. I'm looking forward to working with them on more projects in the future!

Finally I met a decent company who is looking out for the customers best interest. I had Dillan out for a quote on a pool fence which I didn’t really want for the looks but I knew I needed one for safety. He was able to point me in the direction of a different pool safety solution provided by another company. He really heard what I wanted and didn’t try to sell me something that wasn’t just right. I’ll definitely have his number saved for future projects. It’s nice to have a company you can trust.

Quality fence work for honest prices. Dylan communicated well, was proactive, and worked with me to find solutions that made sense for my needs. Got quotes from a few different places in town, but the quality and responsiveness from Austin Outdoor Builders were head and shoulders above the rest.

Dylan, Noe, Maurice and the rest of the team were fantastic! We put in a 2x2" steel fence with inset cattle panel and a rolling gate in our front yard and it was executed perfectly. The team was very attentive to what we wanted and took initiative to propose alterations that would improve the design, including a step down in the fence to prevent a gap where the dogs could crawl through. They completed the job in just 3 days and change, super efficient!

The price was the best we were quoted (and VERY reasonable in comparison to some of the quotes I've heard about), but they didnt cut any corners.

Super happy! We're hiring these guys again if we need any work done to our fence,

Thank you, Dylan and team

From the very beginning Dylan was very prompt and overall a nice guy. He did not try to upsale me and trick me into purchasing something I did not need. Listened to our needs and suggested what would be best for our particular project.

Paul and Jason did the hard work however! These guys worked in 95+ degree heat and did a perfect job with my repairs and new gate. Even when I wanted to make changes after they were finished they were super polite and worked extremely hard to meet our needs.

If we ever need any more work these guys are the first call I am making. Recommending to everyone and anyone who needs fence work

It was such a pleasure to work with Austin Fence Builders. They did a beautiful job replacing our backyard fence. They were extremely professional and responsive and completed the job in a couple of days. I could not be more pleased with the results. They were also competitively priced. Dylan and Noe and Edwin and the whole team were just the best!

David and his crew were absolutely great to work with. We got a very prompt response and estimate. David takes great pride in his work and warned us that they may be a little higher than others, but we got another bid and they were actually lower and using more supports without extra charge. I just felt very comfortable and confident with this company from the minute we first talked, and they did not disappoint. When the fence was installed, the work was incredible. My sons live at this house, they are both carpenters at very high end homes, and they were blown away by the job that was done on the fence. We 100% recommended this company.

I own a small pond building business in the Austin area and I recently used Echo Earthworks for the excavation of a large basin. Justin was great to work with and did a lot more than just drive the excavator. I would highly recommend Echo Earthworks.

I had Echo Earthworks do some Excavation and landscaping and i am extremely happy with the outcome. The owner was very knowledgeable, was timely with his quote, and flexible with his teams schedule. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for excavation work and will call back anytime I need more work for my acreage.

Echo Earthworks demo'd a dilapidated residence for me on a five acre property I owned. This company did all the permitting, demo, clean up and land restoration. From the start of this project through completion this contractor came in ahead of schedule and did the job at a fair and competitive price. We were kept updated on the progress regularly and when we had questions we received prompt and informed responses.

We were absolutely thrilled and amazed at how great our property looked after Echo Earthworks finished our challenging project. Where an eyesore once stood now all you can see is 5 beautiful pristine acres with a fantastic territorial view of the hill country across the valley. Echo Earthworks is the best!

Amazing job on my kitchen, thanks for everything!

Enso did a killer job on my flip in Austin. I was really happy with the process.

Great team, made everything easy and they were very transparent throughout the whole project!
